What to do with old entertainment center and what to replace it with to hold my games
We had a local hospital come pick up our old entertainment center (kind of like Salvation army). If the furniture can be resold, they will probably take it.

Please spoiler that for h-rape..
Also, every time I've had a piece of furniture that doesn't have cloth on it, I've donated it. There are billions of charities that will gladly take a donation of a entertainment center.
Definitely call salvation army or something similar to see if they will take it and maybe even pick it up. Alternatively, if you leave it by the road with a sign that says "free" I'm sure someone will carry it off. I've seen things in much worse shape get carried off within hours around here.

If you want it gone even faster leave it by the road with a "for sale" sign on it. It'll be gone before the sun comes up. Of course, you won't get any money for it.
If your 60 inch dlp is anything like my 57 inch dlp, you'll need quite a wide base for it. I have a very similar unit that I bought from bestbuy 3-4 years ago and the base of the tv is as wide as the whole thing.

Well if the base is 60inch across will I be good? The guy has a 50 something inch on there now.

Well the base on my TV is narrower than the TV itself by about 3-4 inches on each side. If you buy something that's too small the TV will look somewhat silly if it spills over the side. Measure the length and depth of the base of your TV and take/ask for those measurements before buying anything.
I don't think it will hold the TV very well. You can't have something that top heavy. I imagine it would have the stability of a candy apple. Plus it doesn't hold video games.
The IKEA one would be nice. How many games do you have? Man I wish we had one around here.

looks like it'll hold consoles and dvd players, but not games.
I was going to get that and some type of game holder thing for the games.

I'm rockin' the TOBO from Ikea these days:
room for my xbox, wii, ps2, cable box, drawers for games, and a couple shelves to spare. Pretty compact too.
No I like it but a 60 inch dlp will not fit on what I have now.
We've gotten rid of all kinds of crap this way. We even had someone come take a 25 year old mattress.
