Also I upped the sensitivity on my PS3 controller this weekend to discover it vastly increased my killing power. I had it up to about 40% already and pushed it to %60. There is a huge difference... it feels exactly like a mouse to me now. Ever since i did that my K/D ratio for the next 5 rounds were only positive.
Instead of you seeing a guy and then the guy killing you and going on his merry way, everyone knows that the guy is there, and if you tagged him you get points and you get points even if you didn't because you did a good thing in telling everyone that he was there.

I am interested.
My strategy in bad company 1 was to run to the other base with my machine gun and get killed. Then it was to run to the other base with my rpg and get killed. Although there was this one instance where a dude popped around a corner and I shot him in the gut with a sniper rifle from the hip and killed him, and then I used the sniper rifle for a long time but all I did after that was get killed.
So all weekend I worked on completing my unlocks for each class. I primarily play assault or medic, and playing as Engineer was a particular challenge due to how ridiculously underpowered their pellet guns are. I ended up getting the majority of kills with a shotgun, and filled out the rest with the Gustav.
From my experience, the Gustav is not as overpowered as people say it is; it just seems to be the only weapon that Engineers can use to get any infantry kills. As a result, it has a bad reputation but it seems to me to be no more powerful than a 40mm grenade.
Example:
I was playing on Isla Rediculousa as an engineer trying to squeeze out the last few hundred points out of that class for the UMP. I'm using the Gustav for long range, and the shotgun for close. Both my squad and team are yelling at me to stop using the Gustav. This is well into the map, and I point out to them that I only have a single kill since I suck as Engie. So to appease my team since obviously I'm using a horribly overpowered weapon, I switch to assault and almost immediately get a 5-kill streak with an AKABAR (or whatever it's called. ).
I kind of feel the same way about the M60. I get more kills with the LMG that has the built in red-dot sight. I think most of the "OMG OVERPOWER" that exists in the game is all psychological. If you think the gun you are using is overpowered, you suddenly will have an overpowered weapon regardless of it's true functionality.
Id have to disagree with you on the m60. The day I unlocked it was the day me and FlippyD were playing on TAD with...what I think was 8 on 8. We were on the first to last set of mcoms...B, and I straight up murdered an entire squad with the thing relatively quickly. For #1 I am not that good, and if I was using any other LMG that wouldnt have been possible. It was maybe 2-3 shots a person.
I switched back to the SAW shortly after since I felt so bad.
Granted thats personal experience but I still find it ridicilous.
And the CG? you barely even have to aim the thing. Hell I've hipfired it and gotten spot on shots before.
I feel the Carl Gustav is a bit more powerfull on the PC than on the PS3. I havent seen hard numbers, but upon playing both versions it seems that the PC version was just a ruiner.

My guess would be because it's just easier to aim on the PC than with a gamepad.

I didn't get the M60 hate until my squad ran into an enemy squad of 4 medics. All with M60s. And 4x scopes.
And magnum ammo.

Not really. I mean, yeah, it's easier to aim, but you don't have to get direct hits with the thing.
There was some talk earlier in the thread about the PC having a more powerful GC. So far, for me to get effective use out of the thing, I HAVE to have the Explosion perk on.
And I don't know why people have a problem with the Engi. Yeah, it's a little weaker, but it's silenced weapons. It's all about flanking the enemy and sneaking around.
And I love the Uzi.

I'll tell you what I love recently in regards to this game. I just found my Logitech Z 5300 5.1 speakers and subwoofer. For some reason I've had these sitting in a box for years and totally forgot about them. I just hooked them up last night and gave them a test run in Bad Company 2.
Holy shit.
I can actually hear things... behind me! I went 10-0 defending a heated point in Conquest thanks to these things.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. No tracer darts, slow as hell, and only does a slight amount of damage above the RPG. While it can be guided to targets, you have to stand out in the open to do so. Making you a prime target for the tanks your firing at, or any other enemy.
A slight Damage increase and ability to guide does not a good weapon make. Especially when stationary AT's exist and perform the exact same duty, all the while doing at least 50% damage regardless of where you hit the tank.
AT4 will two-shot a tank with Explosives MK2
and there are many contexts in which that is worth it. You can faux-dumbfire it by switching to another gun.

Yeah I dont get it either. I love me the engi. First class I completely unlocked. I dig all the weapons. The one with the 40 bullet clip is steller. Ive managed to take out 2-3 guys before reloading. Just make sure your hits are landing in the upper body/head area.
I think the engi is possibly one of the most balanced classes.

What I hate about the engi is that all his weapons feel like I am peeing on my opponents. Sure, some hurt quite a bit, but the sound and feel of all his primaries are just so wussy.

I've found the 74U red dotted to be about the best engi smg for me and it seems to be what I get killed by the most lately. The Scar is fairly is pretty good as well but I personally like the Saiga for close combat areas. Unforunately there don't really seem to be that many close combat maps. I'd love nice building to building city map.
I really need to join you fellows on TAD as pubbing it is a nightmare and it seems like 9 times out of 10 the team I get dropped on is god awful. On a server last night where the team was so bad we had a 3 man advantage and still got rolled.
I had my first episode of Shotgun Slugs not Hitting Shit at Point Blank last night.
I'm gonna chalk it up to lag because... Seriously. That medic should have been dead.
Happens to me all the time. Fire into someone's chest at 5 yards, they turn and blow me away. Kill cam shows they are still at 100% health. then the 870 is one shotting people at 100 yards.

The only thing that burns my buns in this game are shotgun snipers. The 870 with slugs has redonkulous range and accuracy.
Also the reason the AT-4 reloads fast is because it doesn't reload. You just drop the empty tube.
don't treat a shotgun slug as a shotgun, treat it as a big deagle whose bullets have a mid-flight activation delay

I think that the CG/40mm grenade launcher need to suffer a lot more aiming penalty when the user is getting shot. Bursting someone only to have them stand there and calmly fire off their rocket killing you right after you kill them, is starting to piss me off.

In case anyone forgot, the VIP Map Pack 2 drops tomorrow. Console owners with VIP codes get it for free as well as all PC players. No news yet on when the balance patch will hit, but it is definitely still being worked on.
Ohhhh Laguna Presa rush.... I love that map. Harbor conquest should be pretty good as well if it's just that one stretch of road that could turn into one hell of a meatgrinder with alot of close quarter combat.
I hope they're working on some sort of map list and/or fixing the team-balance deal. That'd be neat, because nothing is as great as when half your team ragequits and no one notices 'till the steamroll's already gained momentum.

I can't hit shit with the M60. I usually do better with the T88. Guess it's just me.
The CG on the other hand..I stopped using it almost immediately because I felt guilty about winning firefights with snipers from 200-250 meters.

If I am a in a squad, and then 3 people join and become recons, I may then leave that squad to form another. This is not an invitation to join on me once again and resume recon'ing. Chances are, unless you're a front line VSS, shotgun, G3, Garand toting, motion mine slinging cool dude, I don't want you with me. Yes, I am aware you can spot from your cool vantage point miles away from the action, but you don't need to be in my squad taking up a slot when someone who will go with me to objectives, rez me, ammo me, help me kill a tank, and provide a useful spawn location could be there instead.
Also. Delish and KimChi. >:-[
Eh you can still be an offensive recon without the "VSS, shotgun, G3, Garand toting". I swear I can take out tanks easier with the mortar or c4 than I can when I'm using the RPG*. Also I will mortar and run up to objectives with my measly m24 and 1911. You can 1 shot people un-scoped with the m24 surprisingly often.
*Fuck, I think I have an easier time repair tooling tanks to death than I do RPGing them.

No, I am not really communist. Yes, it is weird that I use this name.
They made the AT4 too slow to control, it needs a little more control on it and a little more zoom. The AT in BF2 was absolutely dominating, it was pretty much the only class used at high level play. Engineers and medics, but medics were mostly useless.
What
In competitive matches everyone played AT mostly so medics were usually a waste of a slot since the rocket killed you and you couldn't be revived.
