Batshit crazy prediction: Pikmin for the 3DS is announced. It will be titled simply Pikmin 3DS, with the Pikmin three part highlighted in some way because its the third Pikmin and the 3DS moniker applied because its on the 3DS in 3D and thats the kind of thing Nintendo will want to point out in every other game title with no subtlety. If there even was a Wii Pikmin game in development, that will get dropped.
Actually, I think it seems pretty likely that Pikmin Wii has been converted into Pikmin 3DS. The Pikmin series would be a perfect fit for 3DS, so I'd like to see it happen.
Kind of funny, in Nintendogs + Cats the dog will recognize your face and if you put it close to the screen it will lick you. If someone that the dog doesn't know were to open the 3DS though the dog will start barking at them. Supports Augument Reality so that if you put a card in your room you can have the dog run around in your room. Apparently it knows where walls are and you can take pictures of the dog in your room as it shows up on the screen during AR mode.
Nice. I was about to ask if there was going to be a stream of the European event as well.
Just call me Psychic! ;-)
I doubt that there's going to be a cartridge game packed in, and if there is, it might be Pilotwings since it's the closest to the type of game Nintendo would bundle at launch. I still doubt it, though, specially with AR software and cards already bundled.
I'm already willing to pay $300 with what we know so far, so I doubt the price will bother me (unless Nintendo pulls a PS3 which I doubt).
I really, really hope they talk about 3DSWare, Virtual Console and the 3D remakes. There's been almost nothing revealed about this outside of the VC having GB and GBC games, and I really want to know Nintendo's plans with the downloadable software. Oh, and how 3D Movies are going to work.
I'm betting that they are going to do the whole "our new handheld will cost below 250 dollars" thing with an announcement towards the beginning of the presentation and then finally reveal at almost the very end that it will be priced at $249.99. They won't want to have it cost more than the Wii did at launch, be priced at the same amount as the PS3 is currently, etc. However, I think the chance of it being priced higher than $250 is still greater than the chance of it being priced lower than that amount (and we're talking by more than one cent here!)
Thats why I am guessing it will actually be less than $249.99. I think Nintendo will want to keep their handheld market launching at lower price points than their home consoles do. $249.99 is the highest I would bet on, as its the same price the Wii launched. They know there will be an outcry if its more. But i'm still going with a $229.99 guess.

Yeah I figured 229.xx myself. Even with a game that's only 260-270. Which is basically the same as a Wii and 1 game .
We'll see though I guess

I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.
Im going with $224.99, so they can say under $225 - and it will come with some DSiWare-esque voucher to try and get people into the new Marketplace thingy.
I also predict that if they show some English Layton vs. Wright, I will be forced to preorder it over and over until launch day.

Yeah, they have the black and blue ones on display here, but I can't imagine there won't be a red one like there has been in material already released. Unless it's territory-specific.

I would much rather that you end up being right with it being less then $249.99, but I just think that the system itself with the liquid crystal screen for 3D and the two cameras that have to be lined up perfectly (in the recent Iwata asks he said that the cost of including 3D cameras costs more than just the cameras themselves because of the extra work required here) and all the other additions to it over the DS may potentially bring the price up just a little more then expected. I certainly hope not though as I may not be able to afford the system at launch as it is.
Nintendo's official UK magazine is reporting that Sonic the Hedgehog's creator Yuji Naka is hard at work putting together an all-new 3DS adventure for his Blue Blur.
Called "Tenkuu no Kishi Rodea" in Japanese, the title will apparently see Sonic soaring skyward -- flying through the clouds and shooting enemies there. Of course, Sonic's infamous land speed won't be ignored either, as the title will also feature gameplay segments with our favorite Hedgehog running along the ground.
The title won't be exclusive to the 3DS, however, as it's been further announced that a Wii version of the game is also in development. Could both editions essentially be the same game this time around, or will we see different designs for each platform like Sonic Colors' DS and Wii versions? We'll find out for sure soon.
Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available! We expect to hear more during today's 3DS preview event.
