I red/white deck at home that's nothing but a couple of Mana Flares and direct damage in the red (lightning bolts, disintegrates, fireballs), and 4 each of all 6 types of Circles of Protection.

I play magic the real way

You know with physical cards and shit

My current deck for play with my friends is green/black. It's built around Master of the Wild Hunt, idea is to spam 2/2 wolves using various spells and elves, while black takes out any annoying creatures MotWH can't handle. It is a little weak against fliers when MotWH isn't out, but it's still tons of fun and when it draws well it can easily over run a multiplayer game.

Currently building a Standard legal black discard deck to be focused around Quest for the Nihil Stone, Megrim, and Guul Draz Spectre

I had a black and blue deck. I dusted it off last year to play with some people but got thoroughly schooled. And there's all these new fangled T2 things which I have no idea about.

I had a really sweet black/artifact deck way back in grade school, but I lost it one day when I was riding my bike to a friend's house. I had all sorts of awesome stuff in there. I even retraced my route when I discovered it was gone, fallen out of my pocket. It was nowhere to be found.

I started out with alpha (or at least learned the rules from my brother when he bought the first cards), but I remember growing up buying Arabian Knights, Mirage, and Urza blisters.

MWS has a function where you can make a "sealed deck" or whatever, and it gives you a selection of every starter pack and booster for every edition. I selected like four arabian knights boosters and a starter, some mirage stuff, and ice age...it was nostalgia lane generating that shit, I tell you what. It felt almost like tearing the foil off an antique all excited like.

I don't like T2, but I've gotten used to it. A tri-color deck is super viable these days.

As for me, my current tasks are to make a good bruiser deck and a friggin' old school classic, my favorite formula, the white weiners with banding / angels / fortresses deck. Good times.

Almost as good as my soltari cleric deck.

My two favorite decks were later sets, 7th Ed era.

I had a multicolor (U/W/G I think) Sliver deck that was just a hilarious rapetrain. Until my brother built a sliver deck to combat mine. That was just a clusterfuck of buffs.

Then I had a White/Black deck with the expected kill cards and circles of protection, but also 2 Phages and 2 Arokmas. If I was ever able to get them out (didn't happen often, it was a gigantic, bloated deck) it was more or less over.

I am trying to compile a library i can choose from with the cards I got in the "generate sealed deck" feature, since that's the only area where all of the original editions are included in randomized blister packs and starter packs you select any number of and generate to create a collection

i just cannot figure out how to make it a working inventory and then turning part of it into a deck

Hell, the best deck in T2 right now is Jund, a tri-color deck.

So is Boss Naya, which is IMO the second-best deck in T2.

Banding is kind of pointless in the current system

The only advantage it has over multi blocking is if you use banding you get to decide how the damage is distributed. For attacking there are very few situations where it is worthwhile. I'd much rather have my 1/1 be first strike than have banding

I just like to make a few old ones sometimes for nostalgia's sake. Plus, thanks to all the changes over the years, some of the older cards are hella overpowered.
