ExpoJunkie PAX East Edition Now Available - Offline Expo Info for iPhone/Android

Howdy everyone,

We're pleased to announce that ExpoJunkie PAX East Edition is now available for both smartphones and desktop at http://pax.expojunkie.com/! For those of you unfamiliar with ExpoJunkie, it's a complete event schedule and map guide designed for Android, iPhone and other advanced mobile browsers. On iPhone and Android 2.0, it even works offline, so when the sheer power of game overwhelms the cell network you'll still have easy access to all show information.

In addition, for PAX East we've added a quick way to see what's going on from your laptop or netbook - select a location and a time, and you'll instantly see all events happening there. We've also made a bunch of back-end improvements and improved our update process, so as we add events and additional maps to the site you'll get updates automatically.

We're continuing to build it out and add events/maps - we'd love to hear your feedback, so let us know what you think here or @expojunkie on Twitter!

Thanks, and we'll see you on the show floor!

This seem super useful, but there's many events shown starting before the con opens.

Are there specific events you'd like to see added? We've stuck with official show events for now since they're open to all attendees. Many 3rd party events require RSVP or have limited capacity.

*edit* - whoops, looks like I totally mis-read your reply. Yes, there are freeplay events listed before the expo starts. We grabbed that data directly from the official PAX schedule. We're working to see if that info is accurate, and if a revised schedule is posted, we'll push out an update.

he's saying you guys have event times wrong. The EXPO doesn't even begin until 2:00pm Friday and yet you have panels starting before that. All your times are wrong

The events listed as starting at 10am are just the Freeplays. We're actually going by the official PAX gaming schedule, as that's what was listed there. I'll try and get in touch with somebody at PAX and see if we can get some confirmation.

If you're displaying what pax.evtmap.com is also showing, all the events & times are from last September's PAX in Seattle (notice the theatre names).

According to Official_PAX twitter new schedule will be out shortly.

It looks like that is a typo. Somebody probably just copy/pasted the text from saturday over to friday and forgot to adjust the start time to 2pm.

We'll update with whatever official PAX info we can get. If you've installed ExpoJunkie on your device, no worries, it automatically downloads updated schedule data.

At the very least, right now, panel information should be accurate.

Thanks for the clarification, Moe. I was out for dinner and just looking at the text on my iPhone, but looking at it now it definitely looks more like 2:00pm.

For now, I've gone ahead and updated the events. As nathos mentions, the update process should happen automatically the next time you launch/visit ExpoJunkie.
