And yeah, that bit about MiB makes a lot more sense now.
Wayne Brady?
Seriously?
No.
I'm ashamed to say I don't know a lot of Black actors (Hollywood's fault, not mine!), actually, though I saw Dirty, Pretty Things not that long ago and thought Chiwetel Ejiofor did a good job. I don't know much about John Stewart, but I think the ability to portray a seemingly gentle man who can be pushed to violent, even cruel acts in defense of innocents would serve anyone portraying a Green Lantern very well.
I mean, that's pretty much how I see an architect who's suddenly granted the greatest weapon in the universe and is forced to use it by his conscience even as that same conscience tells him killing is wrong.

Phil Lamarr just needs to bulk up like Christian Bale
Hmmm... There are a couple of serious African American actors who could fit the role. But honestly I cannot envision a DC movie (that isn't BM or SM) not sucking... I want to see it in my head. Also Vin Diesel.
Basically, no matter who's involved, the odds are very good that the movie will be unwatchable beyond the first viewing. That's just how most movies are.
P.S. Keith's going to make American anime before he even gets into films anyway, so the first time writer issue won't even affect him.

if I were to focus on John Stewart for the story, I'd take the DCAU route and make him into an ex-Marine
mix it with some New Frontier Hal Jordan with the whole "not wanting to kill" thing

And I actually thought American anime was a more respectful term than cartoon, for whatever reason. Cartoon has all kinds of juvenile connotations, and at least most people don't know enough about anime to realize all the embarrassing things attached to that word.
Though I guess animated media would have worked best.
And make John Stewart white, to appeal to the widest possible demographic.

Hooray, I usually think you're on the ball but honestly that may be the stupidest thing posted all week on the internet.
I'm just going to delete my name and come back as someone else again, now...
Thats not enough.
You are going to have to go into exile in the desert for a year for that. If you survive, you may be forgiven. Otherwise, you will be forgotten. As you should be.

Maybe I should just retire.
And then 10 years from now, when the world really needs somebody to share their opinions on the internet, I'll be there to get into 20 pages arguments about fictional robots all over again.
Though by then, the robots will be real. But I guess that would only serve to make my role all the more important in that crazy, 10 years from now future.

I vote Vin Diesel in really ugly makeup as Kilowog.
No.

Corey Reynolds wants to be John Stewart.
2007 Update. Apparently the he submitted a script to Warner that got approved.

But yeah, it's very encouraging.
I mean, he looks like he'd be a decent Stewart, but he wrote it? IMDB says that he has no previous wirting credits, so I'm a bit worried.
Every writer started out with nothing.

So it's not that encouraging.
Has anyone here even seen The Closer?
The woman scares me, so I don't tune in.

I'd rather have someone who has a track record of decent scripts then a fresh new upstart with no prior experience.
great now i can't write it
Yes, but even relying on a "name" can still lead to shit.

Also Keith, I am sure your Robin/Impulse fanfic is good.

Issue 1 hasn't even come out yet.
Yes, lets ask Hollywood to make a movie about a 15 page comic book.
Thanks for that Keith update!

Cause, I'd think that the Darkness would lend it self to a movie much better then the Magdalena would.
Dimension apparently bought the rights to make a Darkness movie, but nothing has come from that yet.

Hooray I'm a big anime fan and even I want to jump through the internet and slap you silly for that
Well, the game just came out. If it does well enough, maybe it will spur some news.
If Dane Cook, or the WAFFLER, were strong enough to carry a movie, that would be a great idea. Sadly, neither can.

Clarification
I really want a Booster Gold movie though.
