The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Let's be honest with ourselves. When one plays a game adorned with the Tom Clancy namesake, you are not playing a game that evokes thoughts of real world tensions or a tale that speaks to the human condition.
You are there because you long to see modern forces collide, and you want to smoke motherfuckers with guns in theoretical combat, because without exception pretty much every Tom Clancy book and video game have motivations but no story whatsoever (though, the last few Splinter Cells were a great step in the right direction)
With that, let's see who's next up at bat to Kill Dudes.
Tom Clancy is a pretty big douchebag in person. He was all "The Obama administration is going to endanger our servicemen over in Iraq" and "Get off my lawn!"

memory serves that was a staple of the older games both on pc and on xbox
as for advanced warfighter, i'm not entirely sure
i usually played in third person
If you think about it
it kind of removes you from the game, like you're just a camera watching dudes die? Something like that?
annoying to say the least
they aren't arcadey for getting rid of mission planning, though i too wish they kept it
I was thinking more like the fact you do tolerate more damage and they are easier in general.
Also rainbow six has lost a ton of the gadgets and customization options.
EDIT: The difficulty thing might just be my memory though, since I was a stupid kid when I played those games and not a stupid teenager like now.
EDIT EDIT: Oh god I do hope you don't get a tiny shoulder mounted rocket launcher to kill tanks with. What's the point of tanks if you can kill them that easily?
in every clancy game there is the option to ramp up the difficulty
making things a little easier doesn't speak to a desire to make something arcadey, so much as you'd like people to continue to buy your games so maybe giving them a little reprieve from dying instantaneously isn't the worst decision one can make
though, yeah i did enjoy the days of rainbow six being the cruelest in town
I just remember raven shield having more advanced options when playing it with friends than say vegas 1/2
man Im playing vegas 2 right now and its either
A) Press action button to let team eventually maybe do something ineffectively, or Run in there and shoot all those fuckers yourself.
and option B gets you way more XP too
and I hate it that my teammates have infinite HP as long as someone runs up to them and presses the action button but if I go down no one will do the same for me. fuck you guys.

well to be fair, you were on his lawn
Even had one of those nice slate stone paths for you to walk on, but noooooo.
i enjoyed advanced warfighter and the rainbow six series
the only game i think one upped them in terms of realism with bullet drop and finding effective ranges to attack at while you're sighting in your gun under fire was the delta force series by novalogic, as well as joint ops
their pc titles are some of the best games in terms of realism, and their netcode was not to be flexed with
Posts
but still looks interesting. as long as its not an on-rails cinemaction cinemashooter like MW
that's the only problem I have with the game
edit: or was I just playing the old games?

They peaked during raven shield and the first (And maybe second) ghost recon, but since then it hasn't been the same. They're more arcadey for one.

I'll have to check out the newer ones

And then when playing terrorist hunt the maps are so tiny that when you walk into those spawn triggers the enemy almost spawns behind you.
But the ace system was pretty cool.

I always was that sniper guy. He had no sway iirc.
Now, if only it had any semblance of gameplay in it, I'd be set.
the options were "live action dudes getting shot" or "modern warfare 2 type advertising"
i'll always go for someone getting shot first
