You can register here: http://sports.retouchmedia.com/resports-video-game-league/league-of-legends/ and information on the tournament is below.

The tournament will be on April 17. Any LoL player can join either with a team or by themselves. The registration will be $10USD+1USD to cover Paypal fees) per person or $55USD for a whole team. Half the money will go into the prize pool, the other half will be split between Child’s Play and reSports.
The prize money would be divided among the 1st place team (3/4 of the cash) and 2nd place team (1/4 of the cash) while the third place team will receive some sort of consolation.
I would like to start small with an 8 team tournament but eventually I would like to move into bigger 16 team tournaments. I would hope to be able to host this bi-monthly and if it picks up in popularity perhaps even monthly.
So if there are 8 teams, $100 would go towards Child’s Play, $100 would go towards reSports and the development of sports journalism, the first place team would receive $150 and the second place team would receive $50.
For an 8 team tournament, that may not sound like a whole lot of money to be playing for, but the most important thing here is that this tournament is for charity. The winners will end up with bragging rights and I plan to keep a tournament history up on the website.
In the future when hopefully it can be expanded to a 16 team tournament or perhaps even a 32 team tournament, the prize money will be substantially more and could make for a real exciting tournament bi-monthly or monthly tournament in the future.
E-mail me at sports@retouchmedia.com for more information. Registration information is above and below is the registration form.

First ever post is a linkspam thread creation with broken links; this doesn't bode well. Probably you should have instead searched the forums for a League of Legends thread and announced this there, where they are likely to see it.

Also, a site "dedicated to the development of university-level sports journalists" might want to start by finding editors who can successfully title their articles; "Gilbert Suspended from Arenas" is nonsensical.

edit: Well, you did fix the links, at least.

I had fixed the links because initially they were just directly copied where the link names were shortened and I fixed them as soon as I noticed.

And "Gilbert suspended from Arenas" is a play on words since his name is Gilbert Arenas. Maybe not that witty but I'm proud of the work by my staff and you were just clearing searching through the site to try to find something to slam as that was an older article you had to scroll back to find. Frakin' troll.

Sure it's my first post here but I am trying to advertise my charity event that directly impacts the site this forum is attached to. So I signed up as it seemed relevant and not just a random gaming forum where I am trying to just make one post.

And because this is more than a random gaming forum I'm sure you understand why we require solid proof of actually donating the money to Child's Play to allow threads like this.
