Wait, 1 per max? So you... have to just move back and forth a few times? Or do you lose the extra watts? And any word when the April 1st Mystery Gift opens up?

I had like 900 Watts saved up and transferred them. UNLOCKED RUGGED PATH. Great, but what about the other ones. lemme try that again. UNLOCKED SUNNY BEACH. Huh, cool.
And you "lose" the watts in the sense that they are not on the pokewalker to gamble on items and pokes anymore but you will always have them in the sense that the unspent watts will accumulate towards new paths.
Btw, those probably aren't the path's names. Oh well.
I'd like to see them add a non-battle pokemon slot or two, so you could have say, your favorite Furret walking behind you but fight with your real pokemon.
My only complaint about the Pokewalker so far is that its a tiny bit awkward to connect it to the DS since I have to aim the infrared thing just right. But its an incredibly minor complaint, given how good it is for a pack in with the game. The little mini games are just perfect to play between bits of work too.
As far as HeartGold goes, why are there so many comically underleveled trainers to fight?
I was so goddamned underlevelled all the way through the game, until... (Spoilers if you've not played GSC, which I hadn't.)
Until you clear the Radio Tower and Underground Warehouse in Goldenrod of Team Rocket chumps.
After you've done that, you can call trainers on your Pokegear for rematches, and they generally have level 30-40 Pokemon at this point, which a Trainer XP Bonus. I levelled on that for some time to get up to level 36 or so for Clair's gym in Blackthorn. Worked pretty well, and some of the trainers give you vitamins when you beat them in addition to money.
I've organised my Pokegear phone numbers to be in order of challenge times, so once someone stops asking me to battle, I just call the next one on the list. You can find all the info here.
One word of warning, though. It classes 'Night' as 10pm-5am. What it means, is that you can fight 'Night' trainers on a given day from Midnight to 5am, and then from 10pm to Midnight. The Tuesday 'Night' Trainer is really early Tuesday morning, and late Tuesday night, not late Tuesday night and then early Wednesday morning. That baffled me a little at first.

Yeah, my team is only in the low-mid 20s after beating Chuck, because I've spread the EXP out among them.
I don't remember this happening in any of the other games for me (except for reaching the E4, of course). Probably because I didn't spread out EXP as evenly.

I just grinded the hell out of the monsters right before each trainer. Since they keep the wild pokemon low level, it took forever, but in most of my gym matches, since I was actually up to level with them, I would one- or two-shot their pokemon thanks to type advantages and win pretty quickly.
Fuck RNG abuse. Hacking is way easier to do and takes less time and effort.
Oh, Rockin. You continue to disappoint me.
I didn't understand what he was trying to say so I just chose to ignore it.
I do hate RNG abuse, though.
Similar topic, have we had the old Legendary debate any time recently? I used to be strongly against them, but I don't think I care anymore. I'd still be against shit like Celebi/Jirachi, but I've found that it's really not hard at all to catch decent versions of most of the regular legendaries, assuming you have a spare Master Ball. It actually takes less time than IV breeding, since you can tell at a quick glance if it's worth keeping (thanks to legendaries typically being at level 40+ when caught).

RNG Abuse - In order to do it, you need to be able to hack. (To get your secret ID for seed generation.)
If you can get your secret ID... why not just go the whole hog and hack everything you want? Oooooh.
So there's no way to know if you caught a Surfing/Flying Pikachu until you transfer it to the DS.
Well, if you only catch Pikachu that come up from !!! you'll know it's one of them
Also, it seems like the more steps you have, the more heavily it is weighted toward the higher end of the list.
It may just be my imagination, but with around 7k steps trying to get Elekids was an exercise in futility. I'd get a !!! maybe once in twenty tries, and half the time it would stop at the second !. When I tried it with around 20k+ steps after a particularly long day, it felt like it was much more apt to go to !! and !!!.

Well, you can tell if a pokemon is in the A or B group before you catch it. So, at the very least, you shouldn't accidentally catch any Group C Pikachus. And if the Group B Pikachu happens to be the Volt Tackle one, it's also pretty rare.
But, yes, they certainly didn't make it easy.
EDIT: I could probably trade a Petaya Berry for a good TM, like Earthquake or Stone Edge or something. I'd need to double-check and make sure I have extra ones, though, and I'm not at home right now.

I was in the suburbs and got 12000 steps from my nightly walk. 2 Elekids was not that hard. But the suckers are VERY tricky to fight. (on the walker)

You only need your SID if you care about shinies. And even then, you don't actually need to hack to find it (though doing so makes it roughly 8000 times easier).
Also, Rockin' is just posting silly April Fools things.
I assume that having two of the "special types" on a pokemon in the walker doesn't help any more, right? So I don't need to bother trading over a Torterra?
It doesn't seem to be very well documented, so I'm tempted to try.

Sorta. It takes 10k steps just to get the Surf/Fly Pikachu to appear, and then it's only a 2% chance.
Looking for the number of !s is brilliant, however. !!s can also be group A (Surf/Fly) as well, however.
Also, one of the special Types for Yellow Forest is Electric, so after catching one Pikachu, you can use that Pikachu as Forest Fodder for a 25% discount to number of steps.

Oh, Rockin. You continue to disappoint me.
Funny, you disappoint me for not noticing it's April Fools :P
You don't need to hack in order to find your SID, you only have to have someone see it with Pokesav or AR, and they will most likely choose not to edit your pokémon at all.
Jesus fucking christ, Lugia. You have a sliver of HP left, and you're asleep. You could at least fucking humor me by not instantly breaking out of every single ball I throw.
Fuck this noise, I'm using my master ball. I can always bring in more from Emerald.

Ah. So if I take my Elekid from the suburbs and walk him 10K on the walker I up my chance of the Surf/Fly Pikachus. Awesome.
What would you say the fastest way to get an Eevee the Happiness required to evolve into an Espeon is? I want to get the requisite Happiness while levelling him as little as possible before evolution.

Give it a Soothe Bell and pump it full of whatever vitamins you plan on using for its EV training anyway. Then run around with it for awhile.

I don't really bother with EV training, specifically. But I guess I can just vitamin it up regardless.
So who else is in the practice of nicknaming every pokemon they catch?
The one I'm most proud of is naming my Jynx Lady Gaga.
Yeah, I nickname everything, no matter how insignificant. Most of them are references to another game or manga (whether it be something direct like a character's name, or something extremely vague like my Bellsprout named "Ishfool")

No, it just means instead of seeing Surf/Fly after walking 2 miles, you'll start seeing them after a mile and a half. You still only have a 2% chance, and it's still one or the other. Personally I'm not terribly worried about it -- the most I've walked in a single day with the stupid thing on is about 6000 steps, and honestly the volt tackler is probably "good enough" (tm).
I need to fill out my team but I keep coming out with blanks when picking some others. I currently have: Snorlax, Magneton, and Mamoswine. I have a slowbro, Honchkrow, and primeape on standby but it doesn't feel like a team-team, if you know what I'm saying.

I dunno, I don't see anything wrong with that. Swap Primeape for some kind of special attacker (preferably one that resists or is immune to Fighting, looking at your first three) and it looks pretty good. Or do you not care about balance and want some kind of theme?
Today I saw my family as they were passing through the city
and introduced my closest brother (who's currently 9) to Pokemon by way of giving him my old Diamond cartridge.
Seeing him nickname his first pokemon was some kind of moment.

Usually I always enjoyed having sweepers of all sorts just make up my team but after the last gen I saw how helpful having a balanced team of sweepers, walls, support, and other types can have. My Snorlax is a cursed build, my magnezone (yes I said neton before, but I forgot it is a magnezone) is a Dual Screener, and my Mamoswine is a physical sweep. From the stats the others have, they are just sweepers. Also it just feels weird not having like the basic fire/water/grass mons in the team.

Slowbro normally fills the role of physical tank really well. If he's built to sweep, then I guess you'd need some kind of tank instead.
Hard to really give recommendations since it comes down to what you like. I usually use either Gliscor or Rhyperior to do my physical tanking, although I've trained other walls like Weezing and Torterra too.
