No, it just means instead of seeing Surf/Fly after walking 2 miles, you'll start seeing them after a mile and a half. You still only have a 2% chance, and it's still one or the other. Personally I'm not terribly worried about it -- the most I've walked in a single day with the stupid thing on is about 6000 steps, and honestly the volt tackler is probably "good enough" (tm).

I gathered. But I can easily get 12000 steps in a day with my walks + work. So it's a non-issue for me.

Wow... I need to be more active. I used to walk about 1-2 miles to work every day, but ever since the great Dell screwjob, well...

    Pity.

If you've got restless foot syndrome like me, put it on your sock while you tap your foot.

I got a 30k step day like that once >_>

Yeah, I tap my foot so I get 5-8k at work. I check on my breaks to see if my pokemon found any watts/items for me. It's funny seeing the whole work day when I return him to the cart cause I can pinpoint the areas where it falls asleep or is resting to when I am driving or on a conference call.

Put it in the little handle thing on the door when you're driving. You can rack up some pretty nice watts in a short trip. I can usually get like 500 on my 10 minute drive home.

To clarify, I'm certain he means the inside thing, not the external handle. Don't be stupid and lose your walker to a gust of wind.

Is there a way to replace the walker, anyway?

You can forcefully return your Pokemon to the cart if your pokewalker breaks or is lost with a series of button presses at the pokewalker menu, and then you can buy a replacement pokewalker from the Nintendo store.

Yeah I know, I have one of those hooks on the inside of my car that I want to see if the swinging around will add up as opposed to my gas pedaling.

Sadly, to check the IVs you really need to go into a battle where your pokemon will be set to a high level (a wi-fi battle) and then put their stats into an online calculator. A man in the battle tower lobby can give you a slight idea, though.

As for getting good ones, it can be hard. The best way is to have a parent with a good IV in one stat hold one of the Power items (purchasable at the Battle Frontier). Each item corresponds to one stat, and the parent holding the item will pass their IV in that stat to the baby. There's also a chance that some of the parent's IVs will be naturally passed down. The best way is to have parents with good IVs and also to have good luck.

IV breeding is a real pain.

You can always give your Pokemon a load of rare candies, check its IVs, then reset the game without saving. Relies on you having a load of rare candies, but it's what I do.

So I just spent a bunch of time using my roommates game to try to breed me an extremespeed Dratini only to find out his Dratini is female and its needs to be male to pass down extremespeed (fucking stupid). Can anyone breed my a extremespeed Dratini? I'll hatch the egg on my own, obviously, if needed.

Aww. I fought a good Pikachu (!!!), but it got away. Still, pretty good for the first day attempt. I got a (!!) one but it most likely just has Volt Tackle, so I'm just going to leave it in for today so that I don't start seeing ones with Flail.

Kor (or anyone else who is up for a battle), I still have a team ready for battle, but I'm not going to be sitting at my computer. I'll check back every now and then for the next couple hours.

My job involves a lot of walking around (like around 20,000 steps), so I don't need to trick the thing.

Although, for some reason the interaction between my and my bosses Pokewalker wasn't recorded in the Stroll diary. I still got the item, but that was weird.

Yeah, I critical'd the one that made me panic a bit, although it still survived.

EDIT: Good game! You had a good lead and your second thing scared me, although my new guy pretty much trounced everything else.

Hard to say. I was a little surprised that my Gyarados outsped a few specific guys. I was expecting the last attack to reeeally hurt but the OKHO was a bit of a surprise. EV training is vital.

One hit the rest of his team.
