What the easiest way to get a Global Trade, just browse international entries? I didn't have too much time at the coffee shop so I had to just throw a Cyndaquil on the GTS and hope for the best.
You can get better results if you define the search more than just the pokemon's name.
Like if you want a Bulbasaur, you might want to search for a Male lv 1-10 Bulbasaur in the U.S. and work your way from there. At least that's how I do it to avoid people who want lv 100 legendaries.
Here's another baffling UI screwup. I don't know about most people, but I use a combination of touch screen and buttons in my playstyle, depending on which is easier at the time. Sometimes I'll tap the Exit button, sometimes I'll use the dpad to select it and hit A, and sometimes I'll just hit B. Like I said, whichever is easier at the time.
If you tap the Return option (indicating you want to exit out) while in the Box interface, it'll ask you "Exit the Box?", where Yes quits you out, and No keeps you in. If however you press B to try and quit, the question is instead "Continue Box operations?", where Yes keeps you in, and it's No to quit. And remember, hitting B at any time is the same as tapping the "No" option. I have mixed myself up so goddamn much on this. Why is it not the same question, with the same answer every time, no matter if you use the button or the touch screen? Why would you purposefully put this confusing little nugget in?

Dude I totally forgot about the Y button box control. Crazy. I'm a little annoyed we have no such option in HGSS now. However, swapping out my dudes in the party so fast is still pretty nice.
HGSS has some improvements in breeding and UI and such while DPPt have some other useful things. It's all give and take. Hopefully Gen V will incorporate it all into something stellar.
Personally, I wish I could find some pirate stations on my PokeGear. Need me some Professor K.

Like I said in the GAF thread, a third round on the same hardware with a completely new piece of hardware right around the corner, is pretty fucking disappointing. Its gonna be the same god damn sprites and styles.
But its likely going to be the same shit we've played this entire gen. Just with new pokemon. At least on a new system theyd make slightly more substantial changes (not to mention the graphical upgrade away from sprites).
Theyre gonna have to do some major revamping of the series to make me terribly excited for this with it being on the same hardware.

I really doubt that new hardware is a significant motivator for change in the Pokemon series. I mean yes, the touch screen changed things but they've only just started using it in a worthwhile manner. Game Freak kind of moves at their own pace. Without knowing what the new DS or whatever the hell is going to change, we can't say whether or not it would be terribly relevant.

I agree with and am Starting to dislike what you said about gamefreak moving at its own pace. Sure none of the nintendo titles tend to break too much new ground, but pokemons gameplay is by far some of the least compelling after 12 years of the same thing.
Hm, good point. But they did have Platinum and Emerald. So... We don't know yet.
I could see them using the B/W engine to make a theoretical Gen2Rv3 (Crystal Remake) to bridge the gap between the current line and Gen5 -- if Gen5 has any major changes.

Yeah, but FR/LG and HG/SS were remakes, whereas R/S and D/P were new games.
I imagine they figured it'd be silly to do the third edition on remakes since the third edition is just a slightly modified version to update it some, when they are already updates of older games.
