Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

Looking at all the PA'ers I play on 360, we really don't have that diverse a group of characters. I think we have something like 3 Fuerte's, Abel's, Chun's, Bison's, 2 gief's, a Viper, a Balrog, and a Solsovly (of the people I usually play anyway).

I think Solsovly "mains" Akuma, technically. I always thought his Akuma and Ryu were his best guys (mainly due to some of my weaknesses against some of the cast tbh), but I don't know if he's abandoned them recently as I haven't been around frankly and am working off when we fought month or two ago and this week.
It is odd that there's not more shotos, though. Maybe the "shame" of it? lol. I think they're fine choices, but maybe this board just draws people who don't want to be "that guy".
Going to be so much grappler action in Super. Hakan and T.Hawk, Zangief's and Abel's new Ultra, hell Fuerte's new Ultra. Even Balrog and Honda getting throw ultras but they apparently suck?

The main reason that I picked Abel besides being a mixup / rushdown character is because there aren't a whole lot of them. This makes mirror matches pretty unusual, and even then the Abel mirror is kind of fun.
I should probably learn a shoto character, maybe Akuma since he has a really good vortex, and tends to do well in matchups that give Abel lots of trouble.
It has been good to play the PA peeps again though. Dover needs to get on so I can get at that Chun some more before Super. So many times I came so close to squeaking out a win on him, but alas. His Doverness is simply too mighty for me so far

The more I play vs Chun Li the more I despise her. I can't wait for her to get buffed in super since she beats me for free almost 100% of the time now.

I'm having a love-hate relationship with SF4 now - I hate how much Fuerte has to work hard for a win in SF4 and have it taken away in mere seconds, but damn I need to get some practice back with Fuerte especially with the stick in preparation for SSF4.
Kinda like trying to play Claw or Guile but with less pessimism and doom n gloom.
I found it to be a pretty mediocre show. I didn't get what all the hype was about.

I'm holding a Super SF4 party on launch day and I'm trying to figure out good places to advertise such online. It'll be at my house, and I'm basically offering 2 TE sticks and a 37" HDTV to play on. I may look into setting up additional TV space for PS2-based SF2 and SF3, depending on how many people plan on coming. Should I advertise this on SRK or EventHubs or where?

I prefer my console controller . I can't use a stick with the way my hands are unless it's at an arcade cabinet.
For a real suggestion, though, advertise on as many places as you can if you want it to be big....and rope off areas of your house .

Wow.. I got awful really quick. Frosteey even did the thing where you keep tabbing down characters in your skill bank until your opponent finally wins. I think he had to go down 5 tiers before I got one.

You say that, but really, playing actual ken and playing the flowchart kens you run into online might as well be playing different characters.
It's going a lot better than my Fei Long and Fuerte were going.

On the PC version I rarely run into Ryu mirrors. It sounds weird, but it's true. They'd much rather play the weirder characters apparently.
Lots of charge characters and lots of cammy.
Charge characters are much more keyboard friendly so that could be a lot to do with it.
