MySQL server replication questions

This should be a simple one. We've got 2 mysql servers, a primary read/write, and a replicated read only. Our experts on this stuff have all been laid off, so another guy and I have been doing what we can to get up to speed. Currently the other guy is under the impression that the servers need to be shut down in some specific order to not break things. I'm not sure where he got the idea, I cannot find any mention of it anywhere and came across no information about it when I set up the replication in the first place (well, re-set it up because it broke super bad) a few months back. So, if any of you people who know more than me can chime in, that would be great.

It doesn't matter, they will resync properly whenver they can. If one is down then they'll try later.

Thanks man, that's what I thought. Just wanted to double check since he has to have gotten that idea from somewhere.
