It is, but I'm not aware of it being enforced at all. Though that doesn't meant that one day they just decide to ban every account that's being shared.
No idea if it's against the rules or not but from reading the thread it seems like people have been sharing accounts like crazy with no bannings so far.
So actually I am in Korea, and he is in the US. I am guessing I have the US client of the game and that I will be playing in the US, for anyone in beta, am I stuck like this or can I play in Asian servers?
If I'm playing toss and my opponent is doing a simple Roach/Hydra army, how do I counter? Sentries + what? Sentinels die to hydras too easily. Are temps the only solution?

So is massive numbers of marauders going to be a default terran strat? It seems to be what's done in the vast majority of these streams
Seems so, at least against protoss. Marauders do well against zealots, and can survive more than one psi storm, which seem to be the popular choices for many protoss players. Really, I think the reaper needs to be looked at, and made into more than just a simple harass unit. Blizzard needs to find some way to tie it into the terran ground forces, as opposed to a heavily micro'd mineral line harass.
Maybe if the reaper had an upgrade later that slowed it down and gave it a machine gun instead of pistols so it did a little bit more damage against light units? Like a weaker marine with more ranged damage, maybe that is a terrible idea since the ghost is sort of like that already.

Or if the shield upgrade also upgraded the health of the reaper as well, it benefited from stim, and it was able to upgrade to plant it's D8 charges (or whatever its building attack is called) in the ground, spider-mine style (except that they don't seek, but have a decent sized triggering radius). Then at least it would be a bit more useful mid-late game.
Obviously I am just tossing out ideas, but something definitely needs to be done with reapers.
No kidding. If you get rushed by them as Toss I really don't know what to do. They rape zealots with just a tiny amount of micro, and rape stalkers without any micro, and if you try to get sentries you can get like two total.
Terran seems to be bloated with harass units. Banshees, hellions, reapers, drops, ghosts and whatever else they can do. Reapers are the only unit though that is only used for harass and nothing else.
A healthy mix of gateway units + immortal will destroy a marauder force VERY cost efficiently. An immortal can kill a marauder in 3 hits, whereas it has hardened shield. If marauders target fire the immortal, it's under heavy fire from all units. If marauders ignore the immortal, it's under heavy fire from the immortal.
I'm not saying 1 immortal will destroy an entire force of marauders. I'm saying, a 3000 resources' worth of mixed protoss army has devastatingly destroyed a 3000 resources' worth of marauder heavy army in platinum games.
The problem of course is getting to that healthy army because there's a timing window if the P goes 1gatecorerobo which is the typical protoss build right now. For this, the protoss shouldn't 1gatecore straight into robo, rather tech safely with 1gatecoregate with some sentries, zealots and stalkers.
I think so, check your bnet account my brother did get an email too.
Lustre, is it laggy?
slightly...some of the more fancy micro moves can't quite be done but for the most part it's okay. when the game first starts it lags quite a bit though.
So apparently 9/10 pool works really well. I kept a Terran holed up, expanded like hell and got Ultras out all while zerg/baneling harassing his front. He even left me a nice hole to drop a nydus worm in while my partner sent a huge army of stalkers and colossi at his partner.
Winning is such a high...I'm sure all the really good people are over it but its still awesome when I win as an average player.
Well I just played my first placement match, I should preface this by saying I am absolutely horrible at this game.
I rolled over that guy so bad I felt bad, I stopped building units to let him catch up. I built reapers to harass, killed every single SCV he had then he killed them with marines he had with 3 bunkers facing the wall in the corner of his base. I then came back with mmm and just rolled him, I dont think I lost a single unit after the reapers. I hope I don't get platinum.

A lot of times if I feel like the game is going in my favor and I have the advantage enough to kill them I will back off, because I like games to last for a while.
This doesnt even seem fair, I can't lose. I know they are bad and I am afraid I will place high. I just get double refineries, 2 raxes with tech labs, 4 reapers and then I harass while I pump out mmm to finish them off.

It's usually my downfall.
Backing off is good if that includes expanding, upgrading and teching while you mass an even bigger army.
God I am bad, I have 1.5k res and I small mmm army with siege tanks. I went into his base and he rolled out with about 24 marines and a thor. I was so scared I thought I was done for right there. Unforunately he was coming out of a choke on his ramp and my siege tanks decimated him, it was awesome.
I generally back off if I'm comfortably winning just because it feels so awesome to have total map control.
Also, re: Reapers, I'm not sure if I'd like to see them more integrated with the rest of the Terran army. I like the uniqueness of a batch of mercenary harassers running around separately from your primary force. I do agree though that the Terrans probably have a few too many options for harassing that kind of overlap each other.

Yeah unfortunately marauders are a pretty hard counter to any ground unit that protoss has until zealots get charge, so there isn't a lot of incentive to diversify the terran army in that matchup. I have been watching Orb play a lot and that is something he constantly runs into...and last night I played a few gold and platinum terran players who did nothing but spam marauders. Sentries can help a lot against marauder spam though if used well (but again this is a situation where it takes 10x more effort to stop a tactic than it does to execute it).
In fact, as a protoss player I am really concerned about our lack of ability to deal with armored targets without immortals. It makes playing a lot less fun. I am on the verge of switching to zerg or terran. Zerg because I just think they are too good and they actually look like a lot of fun to play, and terran because the music is so amazing. The best protoss players tend to just blob their units around as well, which as someone who is learning to play protoss...doesn't look like a bright future. I guess all three races do a lot of blobbing though, I kind of miss that aspect of dawn of war at least...very little blobbing at the higher levels of play.
Macro in this game is so much easier than SC1. You can group all your units production buildings together and tab through them, same with CC. And the hotkeys work, they are all pretty close to the left side of the keyboard (except p and l for some reason) which makes it a lot easier to hit. Also I have a rocking 40 apm average.

Doubtful. There are some PA dudes on here who are sharing an account, so I don't see how it would hurt if you and your brother shared.
edit: wow double beat'd
I am currently in the US playing the Euro beta
If so, awesome!

So jealous. And here I am, left to just touch myself.

From here.
I can do both

Zerg need a face hugger unit, how do they not have one yet? I could burrow underground, pop out and then turn the marines into zombies.
Weren't zerglings originally going to be able to hop down cliffs?

I am terrible too, we should play sometime high-five
Oh, you did, didn't you?
I concede, you win.
No beta keys for me.
