Unreal Tournament 2004



So..who's up for a few rounds of good old Unreal Tournament 2004? It's been a while since I've last loaded this game up. Who could forget the game that brought us such wonderful gametypes as Assault, Onslaught, Invasion, etc..

To get started, you'll need the full version of the game, the ECE, and patch 3369. Fortunately, Epic has provided us one big megapack download that contains everything:

I've started up a server for us to play on, but I can only realistically host about 8 people before it gets unbearably laggy, so if anyone wants to host their own server, feel free.

I'm going to join in for some fun a little later today, but I'm gonna leave the server up. If you guys want to try connecting to the server and let me know if everything works properly for now then feel free--it'll be running for a little while if there's any interest in the game.

Right now it's set on a generic Deathmatch but feel free to change it to whatever you guys want using the web admin tool.

I've been real tempted to buy this since I saw millions of copies of it at futureshop for $20(CAD) each. I never really jumped on the Unreal bandwagon though (though I did play alot of Unreal Chamionship on the Xbox) I might if theres a big enough group to play with here.

I played a shit ton of 2003 but i didn't buy 2004 because at the time my computer couldn't handle it

If i can find a cheep copy of 2004 ill definitely get it, however, i think i might just wait till 2k7

I'll absolutely agree, especially the Editor's Choice DVD edition, which came with an entire DVD of video tutorials for developing in Unreal Engine 2. I absolutely love the Unreal Engine.

This is something I've also been considering the last few times I went to the mall. I'm not sure if 2k4 is worth buying this late into it's life cycle.

Are there still a lot of people playing it and a variety of game types? When I bought 2k3, all I ever saw were a few people playing instagib matches.

2k7 is slated for a Q1 2007 release, no? It'd be good to give the game a last hurrah before 2k7 blows our minds.

Invasion was pretty fun. It reminded me a little of Serious Sam. The only problem is that the default weapons feel kind of puny.

I will be back on as soon as I can figure out why the game is making me so motion sick.

Hit the tilde key to open the console, and type open ipaddy and hit enter. Should just throw you into the loading (or maybe to enter the pw).

I remember before I posted on these boards much, I tried to joining a random UT2K4 game. It was password protected so I just guessed "wang" and it was correct.

Everyone was like "Who the hell is CHRONIC!?" They didn't kick me out, but they should have cause I was kicking all kinds of ass!
