Hate: Being told 'oh, we're rotating tanks since we have 4, so you have to sit out tonight' on 25 when I outgear 2 out of the other three tanks, have been tanking longer, 1 of the tanks isn't even in my guild, and all 3 of them are paladins. And one of them, the only one equal to me in gear, never gets rotated out.
Hate: That when I ask if there's anything I can do to not get put on standby, I get told 'get a dps spec' when my entire guild knows I havn't EVER had a dps spec, not even leveling back in vanilla, nor do I ever want one.
Hate: Leaving my pug raid because my guilds raid said they needed a prot warrior, and find out I'm apparently superflurious because they'll run with those three fucking paladins.
Hate: having the feeling that the only reason they keep me on at all instead of just saying there's no room is so they can use me as Safeguard bitch on Arthas' soul reaper.
Hate: No other raiding guilds are recruiting tanks since tanking bottlenecks as soon as you reach raiding.
Hate: That my boyfriend keeps advising me to just quit this guild that I've been with for years, because they're fucking me over, and I'm starting to think he's right.

Before following any advice, opinions, or thoughts I may have expressed in the above post, be warned: I found Keven Costners "Waterworld" to be a very entertaining film.

On the one hand, not having a DPS offset does hurt your utility, but I'm not going to tell you how to play with your $15 a month. And if you've been around longer then all those other tanks that's a raw deal.
It's stupid as hell to run with 3 paladin tanks, but a rotation isn't that odd. It's only shitty when it isn't really a rotation but instead "you sit anytime we're above 3 tanks."

The fact that you outgear the majority of them may be part of the reason why they benched you. They need the gear more than you? Not calling it a great deal but it makes some sense. Personally I hated getting benched, but then again that precipitated my BS removal from that guild since the RL didn't like me personally...
You can get hit enough to get to 340 by the time you are 80
34 Defense on his gear.
Unless the tank is a complete idiot and your healers are equally stupid, you should still be fine.
The fact he didn't think defense was required to tank (yes I know you can do it in dps gear etc) indicates he probably is a complete goose. It wasn't really that much of an issue, especially since it was occulus, but the healer left after the first boss saying it was too hard, and then he left. So it was more the combined "tank is really undergeared + healer is being lazy" that was the hate I guess.
If you can't take the effort to get your tank to near the defense cap before you start doing heroics, i probably wouldnt want you to tank.
You can get defense capped easily off BoEs, Rep gear and quest rewards from instances.
This. I told him I wouldn't care if he queued as DPS and did 1k dps and stated "I am gearing to tank".
On the flipside I'm pretty sure I could tank a heroic in nothing but my DPS gear on my DK. I tanked the Plague Wing Trash including Precious in my full dps set and Frost Presence because the other OT was afk. With just a couple of buffs, I am at about 30k health in my dps set though.
I've been buying up 4 types of uncommon gems for a while if they're 90 silver or under - you can vendor the craftables for 3g14s and eternal earth is 3g or less on my server so it's alright gold if you have to go afk for 10 mins. This muppet shouts at me for about 5 mins claiming I offered 90 gold. Why would anyone buy a chalcedony for 90 gold?
This is like the guy who told me he had a stack of frost lotus for 640g then sent me c.o.d. one for 640g. Nice try!
Decomposey. Sorry (wo?)man, they should be rotation out the green tanks first.
Hopefully this isn't there way of telling you that you're a shitty tank or have an attitude problem or something or just don't mesh with them (which would be stupid if they told you to get a DPS spec).

Hate: People really make a MMO crappy. I waited 15 minutes to get my priest into H HoL only to have the tank go "shit" "meh" and then "g2g" after a few pulls. Once he bailed, 2 more people jumped ship. We could have easily replaced those guys, except for the guy who kept declining the role check.
Meh: I suppose I could use my healing spec to heal and get a faster queue, but then I would be healing. My healing set is really shitty compared to my DPS set and the extra work really doesn't seem worth it.
Happy: I've been playing a lot of Pokemon. I really like that game. There's just something about it that is so awesome.
It's also a lot better to be in control of 1 out of the 2 major "can we do this" jobs in a raid or instance. Because honestly, fuck pug tanks or healers.

This.
I hate doing queues on my two dps alts for this reason. So many completely dumbass tanks out there. I hate not being in control.
No, you can't tank Heroic OK with quest greens and heirlooms.
I have slight trepidations about the new LFD system when I reactivate. I am going to finish leveling my Druid and my main spec is resto. I am sure it will be fine but I keep reading these horror stories about terrible groups. It can't be that bad right?
I get maybe one bad group per week. If the group is bad, I drop group and then queue up later. It's best to queue up with people you know, but it's not THAT bad.
Sometimes it's really fuck awesome, sometimes it's really fuck bad.
When it's fuck bad though, don't try to weather the storm. Drop group and sit the 15 minutes. Unless it's something a dps could tank, like, say, utgarde keep.
Normal dungeons aren't nearly as bad as heroics.

Happy: 8/12 down on 25 man now. We one shot every boss that we killed, and our Blood Princes kill was the first time we had ever attempted them, and the first time most of the group had even seen the fight. We haven't gotten a token dropping boss down yet, so hopefully next week. We were doing pretty well on Blood Queen, but only got two or three attempts in.
Happy: Got Trauma, which was our second drop of it. With a few people already with Althor's Abacus, extra heals are going out like crazy.

It *really* depends on your battlegroup it seems like. I mean, on Cyclone Horde-side, it's pretty rare that I run into an actually *bad* group. Queues for my Resto Shaman are typically reasonably fast, 2 minutes is usually the most I wait there.
My two tanks rarely wait more than a few seconds.
Now, I had kind of stopped random dungeon running for a while on all 4 of my main 80s, but a friend of mine has been getting some fairly bad groups lately and the quality in general does seem to be declining. I believe it's because most of the decent people are starting to drop out of running daily heroics, as I have.
The only thing that's for sure as DPS is if you have to go afk for any reason while in queue, no matter if you just joined, it will pop and you will miss it.

Amusing: The sheer amount of tears over the blizzard store mount. Even from people who don't play WoW.
Particularly so as someone who bought it happily and gets to watch an inordinate amount of people who spend an inordinate amount of their time living in virtual worlds already criticizing others for their virtual activities.
Surprising: Pulled first/second on DPS on my guild's VoA10 clear with my crappy Shadow spec and in healing gear and having never raided (or even grouped) as Shadow before.

Yes, technically it was a point blank aoe but the boss didn't cast spells of any kind and I was standing behind him to avoid that sort of thing. When he decided to hit everything in melee range and 1-shot me by accident it was a bit of a surprise. Kind of annoying to try fighting a boss as a melee character that only the tank can stay in melee with and not get insta-gibbed. :?

Just do what I plan on doing
Start a group to get the key
Ninja the key and if anyone leaves start another group for malygos itself

You still need the key for that crap? That's stupid.
Yeah, I think only my Pally has the key to EoE.
That is also stupid.

I am pretty sure you can get the Key from 10man Sap that works for both 10 or 25. The key is from the quest item which is the same both 10 and 25.
Which is really annoying.
Makes sense, but still frustrating.
I suppose I would of known that if i ran 10s in Naxx days :S

For my battlegroup it seems to be 12-15 minutes peak, 16-18 just off peak and 22-28 during really off times (3am-7am PST).
For healers subtract 12 minutes from all of those times and for tanks ignore all those times completely.
