Samphis, there is a mod out there that helps enhancement shaman with their rotation. I forget what it's called though.

Enhance can be a little overwhelming at first once you get the priority system down it isn't too bad. I find shaman dps in general to be on the lower side though.

I know there are people out there that rock out, and I can pull some pretty good DPS with my elemental set. That being said, to reach truly facemelting status is a lot harder for shaman IMO.

You're much more global capped, and have way more tools for specific situations.
Spell Reflect, Intervene, Intercept, Charge, Heroic Throw, Shield Bash (12s Kick compared to a Paladin).

Unfortunately AOE tanking is muuuuuuch more active, you don't have a fire-and-forget aoe spell in your arsenal, you have TClap (Instant w/ 6s CD) and Shockwave (Instant w/ 20s CD) and Cleave/Revenge.

Truth be told, tanking on a Warrior makes Pally/DK tanking seem hideously boring by comparison.

    This.

Just being able to compensate for people not interrupting or whatever makes it worthwhile. My paladin is ultra boring in comparison.

I don't tank as much on my warrior anymore (there's not much left for him with Triumph badges unless I want to gear up his DPS set), so pretty much the only time I break him out is to fix his issue with boots as he's currently wearing the Naxx 10 BoE ones.

This means going into HFoS, which is probably the nastiest instance outside of HHoR for multi-mob tanking, so I consider it my "workout" to tank it in a pug on him.

This is perfectly fine english if you could read.

He's saying, "She sucks so now I know why 5 of our raiders either left her guild or got kicked by her. The kicks were kind of our fault though because while her guild was pugging people, she saw (people in her guild) getting achievements in ICC with a different group (his guild)."

Thank you. I was right about to reply but finished reading down the page before I did. It seems like one of those "my way or get the hell out" type of guild leader situations.

And on the topic of starting a warrior tank, mine is up to 19 and it's really fun so far. It's a lot different than when i tanked on my druid with the sheer number of abilities they give you low level for tanking. Just got shield block which is insane at this level (and i assume all levels actually). I don't know if i'm doing it right but i got a compliment in WC the other day. Pretty much just sundering and revenging then tclap and target switching for aoe

What you just wrote is perfectly fine English, what he wrote was not, it was some sort of read between the lines shorthand that required the context to make sense, and for someone who has never been in a raiding guild and has no first hand experience with this kind of drama, there was none given.

Hate: The people you can get in H HoR. Got the instance as my random daily on my shaman and joined a group that looked like they were having a bit of trouble and hadn't made it to the first boss. Had a druid tank with about 38K hp in bear form and a priest of some kind. Well, the tank ends up getting stunned by a merc and going down because they would usually tank with mobs behind them. Healer bails, tank bails another dps bails, then it's just me and a Death Knight and we decide to re-queue.

Further hate: Start getting dps, then a healer and a tank, cue the tank dropping almost immediately. The other people that join up are a pally healer and a hunter. I'm bored, so I'm flinging out chain heals while still in my enhancement gear for fun while we wait. The hunter then decides that I'm the healer. Well, the hunter says that the pally should tank. The pally and I both say "but he's healing, we still need a tank." And the hunter goes "WTF?" and drops group. Then the pally goes and it's just me and the DK.

Happy: Just before we're both ready to call it quits, we get a pally tank with ICC10 gear and about 47K hp, a Tier 9 heavy priest and a really good fury warrior, surprisingly, all from different guilds. The run goes off with out a hitch.

    Hate: NO MACE!

Amusing: Further experiences with the Cyclone Alliance are... special.

Hate: I got into H HoR three times over the weekend. Farthest group made it to the 3rd wave. Maybe I am undergeared for it. Someone who has completed tell me if everyone in the group is supposed to take constant heavy splash damage? I was having a hard time keeping up.

No. People should probably move out of that LoS corner when the mage flamestrikes and the rogue has his way with their mothers

On the chase? The Vrykul will throw out a shadow bolt volley and toss around curse of doom, and the aboms will do a spray, but the tank should have them facing away from the group since they are also cleave happy.

The Shadow bolt volley should just be easy to heal through with a rejuvenation.

Or are you talking about the first event in the sword room? About wave 3, both mercs and mages are going to show up and they like to randomly hit other people.

On all of my tanks I get comments that I take a lot of damage. People just don't seem to understand that there is just a lot of damage going on in that instance.

Happy: Switched my shaman offspec to PVP elemental. I wasn't sure if I would like it, but so far it has actually been quite fun. Nothing quite like thunderstorming people off of the lumber mill, or selfrezzing after I get ganked by a feral cat and rogue and staying up long enough for back to arrive so we don't lose the point.

Overall it has been a lot more fun then I remember PVPing, then again I have gotten some really nice drops out of VoA so my gear isn't atrocious.

If you're doing the nook strat and staying in the nook after the pull you and the rest of the group are all going to take a ton of avoidable damage that's going to tax the shit out of the healer if they're not raid geared.

Thats what was happening to me. I mean I have badge gear and it's not bad but it's not ICC level for certain. I guess most people don't know to leave the nook after the pull. I will suggest that but I am sure that will be met with lots of "NO! WE DO IT THIS WAY ALL THE TIME U R FAIL" It will be fun. I am looking forward to that.

edit to make sure I understand: you move in and out of the nook between phases. Basically once the mobs are in there the healer and non mele move out and into the room. Is this correct?

Only works if you're the only paladin in the raid

If you have two paladins, one of them lucks out and does Kings and the other one has to put up with seven tells asking for short blessings because they are pretty pretty princesses

At least until Cata comes out and then there's just Kings and WisMight(tm), Pally Power might as well come packaged on the game discs. No other mod has ever been more used by me. I can set up an entire raid of hybrids to get what they need from 2 paladins in about 30 seconds, including 10 minute might/wisdom for the hybrids who need a different one.

Had a DK tank this past weekend DnD too early and by the time the mobs came by the DnD was gone but they sure did notice me using sacred shield. They put on me on a pinball machine and had their way with me.

"Sorry you're getting sanct/might/wisdom" pick one. I default to sanct because that's 3% damage reduction. If we're wiping because of dps from might or longevity from wisdom, there's something else going on. Plus, shamans and warriors take care of the other two.

I admit watching TV and playing at the same time but it's usualy on the "lower tier" heroics and I always test the waters to see how much attention I have to pay. The ICC instances and any raids get my full attention though. I can't slack those and I sort of like them anyway. They still have that new instance smell for me. Plus the music in FoS is awesome.

Nonsense. Heroics did not exist until ICC and unless you have full ICC gear you do not belong in them. You need to gear up before you can run heroics but you can not run heroics to gear up.

It's the first boss. You can't cheese the fight anymore, though, so you need two tanks.

A geared plate DPS would probably be enough, they stay in the boss' area grabbing all the little adds and AOEing them down while the boss is kited back towards the stairs way out of LOS.

It's pretty easy. You don't even need to go down the stairs or LOS. Tank takes the boss to one end of the long room you're end, and the off-tank pulls the guardian to the other end. If you have a hunter or a rogue, the healer stands between the two tanks, the DPS AOE misdirects/tricks to the tank, and just burn the boss.
