[MiniPhalla] The Amnesia Room-Game Over Village Victory
Posts
I mean I don't remember a thing.
You are limited to strictly one guess per day.
Also, it has come to my attention that its a little confusing on what's guessable and what isn't.
A general rule:
Assume everything is guessable (unless its bleeding obvious) and guess accordingly.
If you attempt to guess something non-guessable, I will let you know and you will receive neither reward nor penalty and you may still guess again that day.
I can get behind this.
Still would like to remember who I am though.

Hmmmmm number 17? Apparently I've forgotten what numbers are too.

My original belief was that the tattooed numbers on our hands were assigned using a simple formula based on our original sign up order. The specific formula is unimportant, since I would have to reveal info about the number I'm assigned but in any case I was wrong.
A second part of my guess was that non-test subjects did not have tattooed numbers on their hands. While I was ruled incorrect for the whole of my guess, this may still be true. If there is someone who has not made a mechanics guess today, that may be a good thing to get clarified. It would also be good to know if the tattooed numbers are unique or not. I suspect that many of our mechanics will at least partially depend on the tattoos.
I want to urge everyone to be proactive as a village about trying to collectively learn mechanics, instead of jealously guarding information. If the mafia is masoned they'll have a huge advantage over us in figuring things out, so we should use our strength in numbers to make guesses and learn a lot of the stuff they know already. Heck, for all we know, the mafia is already clued into a huge number of things by their role PM that we still have to guess about. But I do know that if every test subject tries to turn this game into seeing how many things they can personally get right, without considering how to turn that to help and inform everyone, then we're bound to lose.
Ha, I just tried a similar guess a few minutes ago. I agree that the tattoos are probably important, but I don't think there are people without them. I think they have something to do with vote/ability targetting so everyone would need them.
Plus, wouldn't it be strange to wake up and find that everyone in the room except a couple people have tattoos on their hands? That would stick out.
Attempting to "guess" obvious mechanics is very likely to end poorly for you.
Either: A) the mechanic does what its expected to, and i consider it 'not guessable'
or it doesn't do what its expected to and you get a penalty.
There is no scenario where that ends well for you.
I agree after thinking about it that it's unlikely that everyone doesn't have tattooed numbers. If some people didn't have them, it would make rolecalling awfully easy with the tattoos. Also, if the numbers somehow relate to death and other mechanics, the mafia would have to have them too.
I think people should remember that even incorrect guesses can have a lot of value if they're phrased right. In most games, being able to ask the host a specific yes or no question about the mechanics once a day would be an extra keen special power. Here, everyone has it and we should leverage it as much as possible. Unless it turns out the penalties for being wrong are totally intolerable or you're a good special who needs to minimize risk. The specific penalty for my incorrect guess hasn't been told to me until after vote close tonight, applicable tomorrow. If possible I will tell the thread how I'm punished so we can make informed decisions about chances to take.
Steam
Almost everyone has voted has voted/sent in orders, so that's good enough for me. Due to this adjustment, inactivity will not be considered today.
Looks like he'll get to take his rage out on the lever after all.
I proposed there are no village specials. Guessing the right answer about a mechanic would in turn give you an ability. How well-thought out your guess was would determine the relative strength of your ability, from a one-shot to a full-fledged role.
So at least we do have specials.

Well that's good news. A village without specials, no real control over vote targets for potentially several days and a mafia that can (probably) steal abilities by guessing mechanics themselves would be screwed.
My apologies. This has been fixed now.
Lies lied liar lying hahahahaha death dying maybe who
Now, back to the other phalla!

True or false, every single player in the game has a uniquely assigned number tattooed on their wrist, regardless of alignment.
I dunno, it may be better to start trying to assert what the numbers are for, if anything. Hell, if the numbers are pointless flavor then this would be a good time and opportunity to find that out.
Whatever you ask, since you shared this opportunity with the thread it's a good idea to ask something which has an answer everyone can know, without giving an advantage to the mafia.
Simply because I am a chicken and don't want to be negatively effected by guessing wrong.
Now, there is another thought process to this.
My thought process was, "what if everybody guesses and they're all wrong, and they lose the chance to ask tomorrow?"
Well that would kinda suck for all of us, having some more info from the previous night, and nobody able to ask a question or take a guess.
Suffice to say, I'm going to play the somewhat safe route and take a guess tomorrow, once we have a little bit more info.
At least on the leaver.

Does the question expire? (If the host is feeling evil then asking him if it does may actually use it up though). If not it's effectively a double guess and might be worth saving.
I was incorrect.
So either Fiaryn's going to suffer some horrible fate, or everyone who isn't Fiaryn is going to suffer some terrible fate.
PHASE ONE IS OVER
NARRATION PENDING
There was some more bickering with everyone having a different idea on what their plan should be. Most however were focused on the tattoos on their own wrists and no one quite sure what they were for. Then there was also the issue of the lever. Who should pull it? Some people thought they should do it. There were some agreements, some disagreements and just a consensus looking like being formed, Fiaryn decided he'd had enough of this.
"SCREW IT YOU CHICKENS, IT'S JUST A STUPID LEVER. I'LL PULL IT MYSELF." I'll second that, commented Dogbone33. There was a murmur of agreement from everyone else as he walked over and pulled the leaver.
For a second nothing happened. "SEE I TOLD YOU N-"
Then the computerised voice was back.
"THANK YOU FOR YOUR SELECTION. PHASE ONE COMPLETE....SCANNING...COLLECTING OBJECT DATA...PROCESSING..."
The previously observed silence slowly grew to a hum of machinery and then from a hum to a racket and from a racket to a din.
"EVALUATING OBJECT PARAMETERS..."
All hell broke loose. The entire room flashed different colours and moved around a bit akin to an earthquake.
A floor panel opened up beneath Arivia and instantly closed behind her silencing the screams as she fell.
Two large transparent tubes came down from the ceiling, trapping Fiaryn and the empty space where Arivia used to be.
A medium sized laser protruded from one of the walls, sending a beam through Darian and into the transparent tube encapsulating Fiaryn.
A rotating circular saw blade went from a hole in one wall to a hole in the opposite wall, neatly bisecting Shamus in two.
An entire wall flickered to life and the picture of Simulacrum was displayed with the caption "Simulacrum, experiment manager."
Then, almost as instantaneously as it had started, it was all over and the room reverted back to the plain white state it had previously been in.
"THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING IN PHASE ONE...BEGIN PHASE TWO...WHEN YOU ARE READY...PLEASE PULL THE LEVER AGAIN"
The Dead
Arivia (14), Test Subject
Darian (16), Experiment Manager
Shamus(18), Test Subject
Vote for someone to pull the lever in BOLD RED
VOTE CLOSE will be at 2:00AM EST Tuesday 6th April(~1 3/4 days from now)
Orders and guesses need to be in by the same time (BEFORE 2:00) to count for the day.
Remember that clarifications should be about rules not a mechanic.
EDIT: Almost forgot, simulacrum. I'd say that's pretty obvious.
So I take it Arivia and Darian died as a result of Fiaryn winning the vote? I say both since they are each mentioned in(connected through) a sentence with Fiaryn. I'm hoping this is unique....
