I get the thought about AC/DC, but I don't think it's that big a deal. You still can't buy the song individually, and even if the export/import process is the same as RB1, you still wouldn't be able to play it without playing the export fee anyway.
I don't get the Dylan mention, however. Why wouldn't it?
Not being able to carry over even a few select songs from RB1, RB2 or Lego RB is the thing that really hurts, when I look at RB3. That and one or two novelty RBN songs, that don't make their way over to Wii. But having to endure RB1's crude interface to play something like Gimme Shelter or Foreplay/Long Time just makes me sad. At the very least I expect to be able to use RB2 DLC with RB3, without having to pay for downloading them again.
Has that been confirmed? This is the first I've heard of it. This would pretty much keep me from buying RB3 for a while after release.
Well, he's talking about the Wii version in general.
Also, there is a big rumour (I don't know where from, however) that RB2 does not fully export. Most people are thinking Metallica, again. We might get this information during E3.
I thought someone at Harmonix said "most" will transfer over, but I could be imagining that.
I still have fingers crossed that Visions doesn't transfer.

Just for you, it'll transfer twice...twice I tell you!
In the USA Today video, the very first one, they say "most of your on disc songs" like 3 or 4 times.
Theyre VERY explicit about saying ALL of your DLC and MOST of your on disc songs. That exact sentence was used in an interview (either Joystiq or Destructoid's)

Isn't that in reference to Pro Drums support? We're talking about export from RB2.
Due to development time constraints, the way Pro Guitar works has changed. It will now be the same as Expert Guitar, except that all songs will be replaced by Visions.
I don't really see why Dylan wouldn't transfer, when they got the song they made a pretty big deal out of it as if we could expect more Dylan in the future. He's also not exactly tied to the other brand either.
If he does turn out he's too expensive though, I don't think it's a huge loss. I've never really heard people express much love for the song. I enjoy the guitar chart somewhat but the drums can be a bit frustrating.
My only reason for bringing up Dylan was that a) tough act to get, surely expensive ignoring royalties attached to it being a transferable track and b) we saw no DLC from Bob Dylan. That's all.

I can see the logic in this. Though, I wouldn't put much stock in the no DLC thing. A bunch of folks on the disc didn't have any follow-up.
I think some artists just only want disc releases.
That's possible. But doesn't seem to be widely discussed. AC/DC 'for sure', but after that... It's kind of hard to see bands like The Muffs, Mastodon, Bikini Kill, or Bad Company as having enough juice to negotiate for that and actually deserve it.

I'm hoping that Harmonix has gotten ahold of The Eagles music, since they added Crazy Train, all I need now is Hotel California, and I won't have to worry anymore.
Meh. But then, I'm largely indifferent to the Prince version, too. I don't think their version really adds anything to make it necessary. But, since it's the Foos, I'd still probably eventually get it. Maybe.
Plus, there's the larger issue of content. It's not strictly speaking obscene, but they censored You Aughta Know.
Yeah, you know that bass controller they DIDNT make?
Seriously, im not playing bass on a guitar controller. And im not playing guitar either. This just shows a lack of respect towards the bass and bassists. How can they go and make a mic, a guitar, a KEYOARD and a drumkit, and then just dismiss the bass like that. Maybe they even forgot it existed.
Bass cant be played on a guitar, not in rockband anyway, cuz even though in real life a bass can have more than 4 strings, in this game its limited to four as the bass is typically a 4-stringed instrument. It will be very misleading playing it on a guitar.
(I said bass 7 times and im not sure if i should maybe take some of that out)
Probably in reference to that Pro Mode stuff. Better fucking hope seven string bass guitar songs don't make it into the game. Because then we'd all be screwed.
So:
HMX hates the PS3.
HMX hates the Wii.
HMX hates the bass.
(HMX also hates mom, the flag, and apple pie, but they say that on the front of every game...)
Here are the recent list of songs for RBN officially available in-game since the last time. Colour coded for price convenience. (Example links included where available. * means it's not an 'in-game' chart. ** means lefty flip. *** means BNS.)
Those first four songs? Yeah...late additions on Friday.
The LoveHateHero song apparently uses some 'official' video and audio mix with what might be a pre-approval chart over it, rather than the in-game track. And when criticised, the uploader seems to be butt-hurt about it... Anyway, this particular video shows why RB should stick to in-game performance graphics.
The Something Opus song is a four month old pre-approval chart. And it's ambient audio. And due to the framing and audio, it's difficult to tell if it has vocals or not... (It does, apparently.) Seriously, if you're going to do this shit, at least show the whole screen.
And here's something 'interesting'... Since I couldn't be arsed to listen to the whole thing, the Bang on a Can songs apparently have no overdrive. At least on drums. However, no song is required to have any and the band apparently requested it so there wouldn't be any fill sections.
It's only an EA game by a technicality. MTVGames is the publisher. EA is the distributer.
In this case, RB info is up to MTV or HMX to deliver.
Once again, their profits are very much affected by sales, not to mention they physically make the game. They're a publisher too. Not to mention EA featured them in conferences past.

And this year there was a new distribution deal signed...
I would suspect that EA has so little stake in Rock Band, the if RB went anywhere else, the only reason EA stock would take a hit is because people are stupid.
But hey, I'm all for Chicken Littling this. It makes for great fun on the Forums. We should expand this from step-child to full-on panic that OZ won't get RB3 either.

You're right. I forgot about AC/DC.
I don't get the Dylan mention, however. Why wouldn't it?
I think this is where it first popped up here. I don't recall any source being provided, however. So FyreWulff's got some 'splainin to do.
I still have fingers crossed that Visions doesn't transfer.

PS3 Trophies
Well, I see nothing in the next few pages. If it showed up later, then I missed it. His link in that post is about Pro Mode for bass.

Anyway, EA Conference soon, we should see RB3 there
Thank god. After the shitty MS conference I was like eh it doesn't matter I am spending all my money on RB3 this fall anyways.

Bon Jovi is still disc-only, right?
Discs only, actually. That band and Foo Fighters are still the only ones to be in all three multi-artist Rock Bands.
Wonder if the tradition will continue. Are there any big Foo songs we don't have yet?
Psst... that's Red Hot Chili Peppers.
I mean we basically had the setlist by this point.

In my opinion.
Nope, just the 22 songs so far.
Edit: Man, I'd love Darling Nikki but The Prude Formerly Known as Prince won't allow it.

I'd wager that HMX will be more careful about that kind of thing, and we won't see any leaks until closer to release, if at all.

Big Me. Generator. Next Year. No Way Back.
EDIT: And Generator should be the one to make it in.

Also, when I think of "Big Me" I think about the video and then about Mentos and then about Diet Coke rockets.
Due to lack of some in-game charts, may be NSFW.
