I thought about making a long post pointing out all the smirk-inducing failures in logic but I think it's safe to say the fact is that nobody who's "not an idiot" would say any other melee carry is better than Jax. And there's a reason for that.
The reason he is the best melee carry is simply because he works how other melee classes should work.
Having an AOE stun, excessive passive HP bonuses and an ult that requires zero skill to use?
Don't you think the game would get kind of boring?
You all really think Jax is a simple paint-by-numbers OP champ? Have you ever even tried Jax? I guarantee you will get your shit stomped the first ~10 times you play as him.
jax was the first hero I played
my k:d with him is somewhere around 60:15, and that's only because I only played him maybe 5-6 games
JAX can get 5k+ hp and a rickdickulous dodge percent if he gets items that give him ability and attack power
i don't know how else to explain how good he is
You're exaggerating by 1k-2k HP, but yeah.
As was mentioned the good thing about Jax is that he gets his survivability by getting damage. Shen and Mordekaiser are so damn solid because they get some damage by going survivability (just being able to stay in and not run out of juice for attacks is enough), so really the key for melee seems to be to give them the tools to not be gimped on account of the combination of squishiness and having to melee.
Jax could use a small nerf (though I don't know to what) but mostly it's that a lot of other melee offensive heroes are so unimpressive. We're used to ranged carries, but really it makes sense that a melee carry is particularly threatening. I just don't know.

Well, it's tricky. Shaco is squishy, but he can pop out of the bushes and kill you super-dead alarmingly quickly (quicker if you run!). So Shaco's considered a threat.
To make Yi a threat, though, what can they do? They can make him absurdly hard to kill, with Jax's passive and an extra 10-14% dodge, and a dodge-based stun (like Jax). Or they could just make him ludicrously good if he gets in melee with you. Every point of attack damage Yi has is multiplied by 1.3, Yi will rip your face off and eat it if you let him touch you, look out for that Yi motherfucker.
I think that would be less balanced than Jax. But if Yi is basically Tristana, but from not very far away, what do you do?

Case in point why Jax needs nerf: lower level 4/10 Jax beats 10/2 Shen, same creep kills, in a 1v1. I got away and the 9/2 Panth came in for to finish the job, but seriously, WTF?
I believe HoN is more responsive and more competitive but its community totally ruins the experience.
For this reason alone, I play LoL.
Although I will say, I detest microtransactions and hate the fact I can't pick any hero I want at anytime.
Isn't HoN going to be pay-to-play though? So at least with LoL you have the option of not paying anything and unlocking the heroes ingame. But yeah, I agree that the community is completely what drove me away from the HoN beta.
I really thought I'd hate LoL's micro-transaction system, but aside from some irritation during the 11-20 grind I can't complain. I've always had enough champions available to keep my play time fresh, and now that I'm 30 there's really no disadvantage to having never given Riot a dime.
I do fear that a good Singed skin like the one Facetious suggested would open the floodgates, however. Luckily they don't seem to want my money.

the community was part of it, it was probably because it was too much like DoTA that did it for me because it seemed pretty user-unfriendly, and i was a little sad at how weak towers were. not only did they walk in towers and get kills pretty much all the time, but then they aced us in our fountain, and they shrugged off the laser from the fountain like nothing
i was also sad at the sheer amount of stuns in that game, that or the enemy team just stacked stuns. i would literally get stunned for 2 seconds, run away for 1 second, stunned for 2 more, run away for 1 more, stunned for 2 more, die.
on the community: in one match i played, i joined a public game entitled "noobs only" and then proceeded to have the whiniest teammate about how bad we were. no matter how much we told him that this was a noob game, he would not stop typing shit about us in all chat.

I'm really not getting any support on the LoL forums for my idea.
Clearly they are not sophisticated enough to recognise brilliance.
Buggering off again until they figure out their matchmaking. No matter how many times I lose, I'm still matched solo queue against all level 30 premades, with my teammates often being low level.
No point in playing because I just spend my time twiddling my thumbs waiting for the surrender timer.
Set up my turrets in the bot mid grass.... poppy and ashe come to say hello.
Ashe ults me. poppy slams me. I ult and blind poppy. Ashe dies to my turrets almost instantly. Poppy escapes with very little health. I'm left with equally little health. Then Poppy's teammate approaches.. so Poppy... seeing backup and knowing I am very low decides to try and do a charge to finish me.

Double Kill!
Rockets, bitch!
Also, deathfire grasp + zonhya ring = ... 120+ turret damage, 30% insta-shot plus basically a 600 grenade and... a lot of rocket damage. Heimer is a late game force. Want to try him in SR again.

can you tell me what you leveled first? or more importantly, last?
It sounds like fiddles going to get nerfed pretty hard on the next test realm patch, dev forum posts say they're speeding up dark wind so it's overall silence time is lower due to faster travel between targets, nerfing its damage and quite possibly nerfing all his AP ratios (which are already some of the worst in the game) even farthr Why must you do this to every champion i like riot? why!?

I played one game of HoN and my big problem with it was I was unable to tell which heroes were on which side. In any group battle that took place, there was my hero, this one humongous enemy hero, and then eight indistinct gray blobs with variety of tiny little swords. In LoL, the big visible health bar that is either green for allies or red for enemies makes telling everyone apart easy, but there didn't seem to be anything like that in HoN from what I could tell. Maybe it's hidden in the options somewhere? HoN going with the "realistic with lots of grays and browns and that's it" style didn't exactly help, either.
I'm sure it might be decent game once you get to the point where you can instantly recognize one gray, featureless character from another gray, featureless character, but I'll never get that far because HoN is just about the opposite of beginner friendly game and I can't be bothered with it when I'm already playing a similar game that was much easier to learn and get into.
Fuck, matchmaker HAAAAAAAATES me today. Six losses in a row and counting, all because of AFKs, retards, and people who don't know how to play their damn roles. (Yes, tank, please run away at 3/4 health while the carries get focused to smithereens.)

Play a pretty decent game where we were doing well early, then losing pretty badly mid due to spreading out too much, and then came back to win the last two teamfights and win the game. Back at the lobby other team asks if we're a premade and we weren't, we say so, and some guy is like, "lvl 27?", "solo?", "lol".
So I guess he thinks because I'm level 27 we have to be a premade. Which is dumb because I've been playing level 30s since level 30s existed. The matchmaking system really doesn't care much about level once you're out of newb island.

Thats a little ridiculous. Fiddles does not seem anywhere near overpowered to me. Early fear + drains can get a little powerful, but I do not see his AP ratios as the problem at all.
Nerf the AI on that fucktarded attack and I'd call it square. Skill shots are in vogue now, right?
Hurr hurr, dodgin' 6 creeps to bounce between 2 champions over and over and over and over and over. I swear those birds are smarter than the average LoL player when it comes to picking targets. That's really only an issue early game though, and one mitigated by the fact that most decent Fiddles will be jungling anyways.
