PS3 version is likely the one to get if only for the video capturing ability. Ofcourse, if you can get it for the PC and have a 360 pad then go for that simply because of the mods. I really need to drop the fiddy for the new gpu and just settle for playing it on the pc in shitty graphics mode.
I keep trying to attach an attacking helicopter to a car or building, but the line breaks after a couple of seconds. Is this just not an effective strategy or am I doing something wrong?

I wouldn't mind paying 1200 points for a decent DLC package that includes:
- more weapons
- more vehicles (in the black market)
- more missions (possibly agency, but not necessarily)
- more land
On top of that, some minor changes would be nice, like some cheat options (ammo, health, etc.) for fucking around, and perhaps airplane control tweaks.
I enjoy highjacking helicopters much more once I started carrying the revolver, what a great sidearm. QTE button pressing just isn't as visceral as shooting the pilot in the head while hanging onto his windshield, then diving in to stall the copter from it's free fall.

Also, there's a race in Panau city that is just 9 checkpoints of slingshoting along. It's called the Panau City Sling-Along or something. Anyway, it's super easy and you get $20,000 for it, if anyone needs the cash.
Also, I'm going to go crazy trying to find the last items in the Financial District.
It took me one try and 2 minutes to get the low flier achievement. Just skimmed the shallow seas near Karl's home and voilá.

Speaking of the air races, this fucking Bridge Of Death one could drive a man to drink.
Use the cheap black market helicopter, it's sooooo fast and maneuverable. It should've been like the first thing you upgraded. You should be using it for every air race.

Not meant to be flippant, but...there is a demo you can try out on the 360.
It's 30 minutes and has a section of the map open to you to just futz around in.
If you like that...you'll like the game. Demo has been said to be pretty indicitive of the rest of the game...except the game is better and not limited to 30 minutes.

I decided to order that X clamp dealio off ebay and work on this fucked up 360 of mine. I'm not even sure it'll open, there was one screw that was insanely worn out, might have to splice the head and use a really thin straight screwdriver.

I bet it's the highway to heaven one, right? I managed to do it in the helicopter, but a few of the checkpoints were pretty close. There's like a tough part time wise in the middle, after which you get time more frequently making it easier.

I've done all the races with their default vehicle, but I like that kind of maddening challenge. The Bridge of Death was a tough one. The key is to know where the checkpoint *after* the next one is. If you fly in a straight line from one point to the next, you will put yourself in some tough spots. If you know where each checkpoint is, you can hit a checkpoint halfway through the turn that sets you up for the next one. Once you nail it, it looks awesome. You make these sweeping, slow turns that somehow line you up perfectly to go between buildings.
Can anybody tell me how the DLC works on PC? Is it automatically patched in via Steam? I assume it was also free, as it was on the consoles. Given the free DLC so far, is it likely the rest of the DLC'll be free + that pre-order pack eventually coming out free?
I'd buy this game right now, if I had verification that the DLC was free and that awesome pre-order pack was coming, too. I'm Canadian, as it stands I can't even buy most of the items in that pack. Signature gun and monster truck, only things that are available to me (also, GameStop is smelly and I don't want to buy from them*).
*$5 more than everyone else, no less. Bonus, my ass. Its not a bonus if it costs me more.
I also did all the races in their default vehicles* (not to say that I've finished all the races, but I've definitely done most of them). Some of them are ridiculously hard and frustrating, but it's nothing the repition of failure won't fix.

Nobody is saying that. Infact, the DLC list indicates much of it comes in packs similar to the pre-order stuff. I recall 3 packs mentioned, most of the DLC was listed both alone and within the packs. None of the packs are especially "big", though. Maybe if they were all combined into a single product, that'd count.
I did it over the beach in the very southwestern part of the islands, and thought it was so easy I went to 70ish seconds. Which brings me to ask: why does my stats screen show that my longest low-flyer was 5 seconds, and my longest perfect kill streak is 1, when I have the achievements for each?
Because you didn't save your game afterwards.
For people having trouble with the low-flyer achievement, you can do it very easily along rivers.
I certainly did save my game though. Also, my longest perfect killstreak is 1. There is no way that any time I've shot two guys wthout being hurt I've then turned off the game and forgotten to save.
Also, the first thing I'd like if they patch the game is an addition to the stats screen: I'd like if all the things like locations discovered and colonels killed also told you the maximum. When you visit a new place it might say "100/368 locations discovered" but if you check the stats it just says "100 locations discovered". Kind of annoying.
And does anyone know why I discovered a new location after already discovering all locations? When I did, it popped up saying "369/368 locations discovered". A weird glitch, or did they add another location late and forget to add it to the count?

By the way, the new vehicle is awesome. The first time I drove it down a road, I accidentally hit a tuk tuk going the other way. It wasn't even a speed bump, it immediately exploded. The next vehicle I hit was an army jeep (once again a head on collision). It slowed me down a little, but the jeep flew straight up spinning like crazy. The only vehicles that can really stop you are the really big bus sized ones.
After a little while, it started smoking so I decided to go out in style. I got the attention of a few army guys and went on a spree with it. Turns out that it can take a lot of gunfire. I lost the wanted level, but also lost 3 of my tires. Even on 3 rims, it drives well (mostly due to the fact that you don't have to swerve to dodge traffic). It wouldn't even blow up after I bailed out of it (multiple head on collisions). I had to drive that sucker off a cliff to blow it up.

Woo, I've finished clearing out all of the city districts. I've also stumbled upon the hot air balloon, which is pretty tits. Also found the bubble gun earlier on accident. I love this game.
Just to make sure: After you finish all the agency missions and go into mercenary mode, you can still do all of the faction missions you never did, right?

Everything is 100% the same, except you get no new agency missions.
Also, you get a big, red, annoying alert every time you do anything that contributes to your % of completion. Even a 0.01% increase. Fucking. Annoying.
