let me know when accidentally hit 3 instead of 4 and use an ammo power instead of charge
my point being that mistakes are costly - using realtime controls, you're screwed. using the battle menu, you shouldn't be screwed to the same degree with indelible choices.
ESPECIALLY when it's inconsistent: i hit charge or shockwave in the battle menu, and i can 'deselect it' and choose something else. ammo powers and weapon changes aren't like that.

~Sighs~ Yes EA, let's delay the PC release because MS can't get it's act together on Live.
Realistically, what choice do they really have? I wouldn't be surprised if there's a contractual obligation with Microsoft that they can't release the PC version before the 360 version.
Also of note, this is the first time I've ever been actually interested in getting DLC for a game. The fact that I can pay the precise amount for it instead of paying in increments of 1000 whatever freaking points system they've got for it is a pretty major plus point.
And possibly the main reason I've stayed away from MS Points. At least Bioware is allowing me to buy only as many points as needed, and it comes to about £5. Which for me at least is relatively reasonable for a 90 minute DLC plus new character.

Yes it's not Bioware who have shit the bed with almost every DLC release
Well, it was EA who delayed Dragon Age on PC for about 6 months so they could all release at the same time, and then it was leaked 3 days early and pirated before my legit copy on Steam ever unlocked. That was the thought in my mind that pointed at EA first and foremost.

How...wha....that doesn't even make any sense. ME2 is not a Games for Windows Live product. EA wouldn't be very bright to agree to such a thing. If MS wanted to, they could jsut claim something doesn't pass certification if it's perfectly fine.
1) Is there more than one way to get into the base? I chose the 'send someone through the ducts' option and we did it that way. Is that the default mission or just one of three options?
2) The only 2 non loyal people on my team were Tali and the blue biotic chick, but Miranda was loyal and got shot and killed during a cutscene when my second team lader (Jacob) called in with a status report. I only lost 2 people on the mission (Tali escroted the crew back and got killed as well), but why did Miranda die?
3) Can you save more of the crew if you get there quicker?
4) I upgraded the ship's shields, armour and weapons. Am I right to assume that if you don't upgrade these you lose a few squad members during the battle?
5) Basically, what are all the ways you crew mates can die? I hear some people's crew got killed during/after the last fight

Right, that's Bioware/EA
Not Microsoft
No, I was explaining why Bioware wouldn't have a say in the matter since EA owns them. If Bioware wants to release something and EA says no, EA has the final say.
That article earlier says that they were having issues with the Live version and working with MS. So same situation here EA (Bioware) wants to release something and MS (EA) says no and MS has the final say. I mean it's been ready and they've made a big deal about it at EA, so the files are there and ready. So it looks like MS is having trouble deploying them.
Now currently, if it were the other way around, and the console version was ready to go, and the PC version hit a snag, you know very well they would have told PC users tough and pushed it out on the consoles.

Largely because Microsoft don't make any money from the PC version or its DLC. So having that release first is something they'd view negatively.
Releasing the DLC first on a platform that MS isn't making money from is something I could easily see them having contractually legislated against. Doesn't matter what size the PC audience is, they'd view such as move as undercutting them.
It's kind of like how any DLC released on the 360 almost always has to be charged for (as in, it's a requirement set down by Microsoft) unless it's being released for free on the PS3 as well (which MS views as a competing platform).

1) The entire base sequence is set. There's no way to do it any other way than how you played it. The only thing that changes is which team members are available and which ones you use for a given role.
2) Non-loyal people count as non-ideal for most roles you can place them in. In other words, they will fail. This may result in either them dying or them getting others killed, depending on the role (this is what happened to Tali). What you ran into with Miranda is that you need a certain "hold the line" score to not lose people. Characters like Grunt, Garrus, and Zaeed have a high "hold the line" score and can protect the weaker characters. Characters like Miranda, Tali, and Mordin are fairly squishy and can die if the score isn't high enough. If you have too low a score you can lose everyone in that group (this is fairly difficult to do, but it can be fun if you're going for a bloodbath run).
3) Yes. You save more of the crew the faster you get there.
4) For each necessary ship upgrade not done (and there are 3 of them), you lose one squad member.
5) Ship not upgraded. Waited many missions before hitting the Omega 4 Relay. Non-ideal or non-loyal members used in certain roles. Too low a score in the hold the line segment. Non-loyal squadmates brought with you into the final segment.

Hey, if us poor console schmucks want to start a new game with Kasumi, think of all the damn mining we're going to have to do. They're just giving us a head start to account for that. :P

And what's a bloodbath run?
No one comes home and it's up to Joker to save the universe.
If it doesn't show up on 360, here's how to make it appear:

that's not really the problem, though. ah well, i only died once from that. :P

Now for the mission.
So remember kids, not only is GFWL not very good for PC gaming, Live as a whole now prevents you from getting content on time regardless of platform.
EDIT: Kasumi's skills are Shadow Strike, Overload and the loyalty power is called Flashbang Grenade.
Yeah, that's a really weird explanation insofar as the PC version is concerned.
