Just last night I was wondering why the Isla Innocentes exploit hadn't been fixed yet.

Excellent patch notes. I've been playing hardcore for the past two days, sniping with the SVU. Holy god it rapes on that mode. You can't hear it fire from 2m away and it only takes two body shots to kill. Grab the extra ammo uprade and sit in a bush plinking your K/D up and up and up. Wonderful.
So, I'm pretty excited about all the stuff I've unlocked so far. I'm unlocking Medic first, and tried some of the abilities available at Lvl 6. I mostly run with Improved range medikit and improved heal. I need some input on the other abilities.
The red dot is pretty fun, but I haven't tried it much, and I don't know if it improves my murdering abilities or not.
The 4x is really cool when you're far, but at semi close range forget it. I end up flailing my LMG wildly and dying. How precise is a LMG when you're firing from the hip?
In theory, the lightweight ability could be useful for a medic, running in paddles blazing, but since I tend to stick to my squadmates, I'm not sure how useful it would be.
I can also use the LMG marksman training, but I have no idea how it works exactly (less bullet deviation at long range? better aiming while walking? Dunno)
I think there are some terrain exploits out there that people are discovering.
On Isla Innocentes last night I was sniped several times by a recon who was just sitting still crouched in one place. Depending on which phase we were on he was in a different spot, but in each spot it seemed to be a terrain exploit.
In one spot I got several shots at him with a sniper rifle and each shot would hit the rock in front in him. I experimented and gradually raised my sight with each shot and it went from hitting the rock to whizzing over his head and hitting the water behind him.
In another spot, he was crouched and all but his head and shoulders were clipped inside a large rock. Basically he became a boulder with a sniper rifle. I experienced the same problem hitting him, either it hit the rock or went over him.
In either spot, regardless of being able to clearly see him (except for the clipping issue) bullets would hit on terrain in front of him that was not in the line of fire.
I assume he was a pubbie, since he had no clan tag.

I think red-dot might make you ADS faster, LMGs are awful from the hip, lightweight is probably worse than the medpack upgrade, and the marksman, for each class that gets it, is 66% spread.
Which is okay, I guess, but if you tap fire like you should it doesn't really make any difference. Up close it might but probably not, guns are about the same accuracy up that close.
I dunno I just made it up/went by the time I used a M95 with a red-dot and it didn't feel like I could have taken a nap and still not be aiming down the scope.
I guess people could test it but might as well just wait two days I guess.
So wait, how long do we have to wait before we can start whining about this patch? Until Wednesday? Man, I was hoping I could start complaining now.
Obvious sarcasm is obvious
I'm proud to say that my combined kill count with the Gustav, M60, and 40mm is only 88 out of my 1976 kills. I think I actually got most of my 36 m60 kills in one life on the dome. I had just unlocked it and announced in Vent that I was going to try out the m60 for one life, apologizing in advance. I think I got 14 kills before I was gunned down, then proceeded to get defibbed like four times before I could switch kits.
I know that I have more kills with the M2CG than my other launchers. But that's more of a byproduct of people never using vehicles against my team for whatever reason.
I still feel like the M60 is inferior to the XM8 LMG, however.

I play hardcore and the rate of fire more than compensates for the decreased hitting power.
Hell, even in core I feel like it performs better. Chalk it up to personal preference. I don't think the M60 is bad, per se, just not my kind of weapon.

I really can't agree with that - I love the XM8 LMG, but the M60 is just a fucking beast. There have been plenty of times I've been tap firing at someone and hit them 5-6 times before they turn around and 40mm me, which would have been a kill had I had old Rambo speaking instead.

There are quite a few of these terrain inconsistencies, and Isla is one of the worst offenders.
There seems to be an issue with the way the rendering actually maps to physical dimensions on certain objects. This is most obvious when you try targeting a Mortar spot and end up shelling the tree branch directly in front of you.
I've also seen it numerous times in certain terrain - mostly rocks and exploded tree stumps, for some reason - where the visual graphic says I have a clear view, I can see the target, yet firing gets me a ricochet graphic on dead space right in front of me.
Okay then. I guess I just don't care much about fractional differences in time.
yep cuz i do wich is y i git angry wen som1 killd me in .1 sec faster
It's about the spread and how the gun is so accurate. It can fire for quite a long time and not lose much accuracy in addition to doing 25-20 damage a shot. The damage is secondary to the accuracy. See, it normally kills faster. Lots of guns do that, M60 does it best. But usually, not always (PP2000 XM8 P), but usually they're not accurate so it makes up for it.
Hm, but is that assuming each hit lands? The life to death window between xm8 and m60 is still pretty small in that case I thought. I would think the higher rate of fire gives me a better chance of landing a hit, assuming the kick doesn’t destroy my target acquisition. Assuming I can acquire a target.
I really hate the Akaban. I mean yes - I will kill you with it, lots. But I hate that I have to suffer the worst iron sights in history of video game iron sights, or burn a perk on red dot.

I will and have banned these people. When you see them, let me know. Or your other favorite person of power.

Time to tune up the XM8, I think.
"Burn a perk." Like having more ammo or more grenades is really useful when as assault you've already unlimited ammo. Also, Abakan.

Use the red dot sight. If you're going to do some 40mming, drop a an ammo box at your feet and you're set.

PS use the AUG.
I swear I told my fingers to type Abakan...
Anyway - yes. I know. It still annoys me, and after so many wasted hours in MW2, I've a habit of using iron sights whenever possible.
And yes, more grenades IS quite useful at times.
Lastly, you need a west coast late night admin that knows a thing or two about a thing or two...
I'm really starting to prefer conquest to rush, If only because having a few dumb teammates hurts you less, or at least is less frustrating.
A competent squad can take/defend most points on Rush
An awful team will spend all day chasing a helicopter around the conquest like so many kittens chasing string, and you'll get fucked as the enemy team captures the points and steals all your tanks and helos.
Two perk related questions. Is the body armour visible/at all useful on hardcore? And, does the agustable foregrip only improve accuracy whilst using the sights, or all the time?

It is not visible on a player model. It gives 25% more health, whether that is useful is up to you to decide. The foregrip, or rather "handling perks" help even while aiming down sights according to Demize99 (DICE balance Dev twitter).

the body armor might let you live through 1 more shot on hardcore depending on the weapon, and no I haven't seen anything visible when I use it.
As for any of the accuracy perks I think they just decrease the spread by a certain percentage regardless of whether you are zoomed or not. I did learn something new about that yesterday though. The accuracy and magnum perks effect your pistols.

Nelson Bay is another bad one...stupid trees.

I didn't mind the iron sights on this gun. m60 is the one I hated.
I learned why everyone hates the CG.
Man I died a lot to that fucker. I hope R7 tones down the damage it deals to infantry, or just changes it to M2 Carl Gustav Anti-Personnel :P
Still, feels very good to pistol some dickwad CG engineer's brains all over a rock.
Also feels good to out-snipe a recon hiding in an area that shouldn't be accessible with the base sniper rifle and no recon perks whatsoever.
I swear I told my fingers to type Abakan...

Ok, fine.
Show me your pivot tables.
Also the ironsights on the AN-94 are great what is it with you people?
