And he does look like Seinfeld, and Dan's character looks like he's sucking on a lemon.
With no traps and new guns I'm going to assume that the gun now traps the ghost... or, the gun goes after possessed people and pulls the inhabiting spirit out.

Look at the teeth, nose, and eye. They are almost exactly the same as the locusts. There is a difference between just being generic and looking almost exactly the same.
I whould not mind if the ghostbusters were an army style thing, only if its set in the future or something, where ghosts run rampant, kinda like Hellgate London with proton packs.
Why are people making assumptions about a Proof of Concept? "The Traps are gone! The guns are different!" Well, of course. This is a Proof of Concept. We're not looking at the finished product. Did you hear the Microsoft Sam voice telling the player not to cross the streams when, so far as I could see, there were no streams to cross?
What we are looking at is a very early model for what could become a positively kick ass game that, ideally, would be set around the Ghostbusters license. People are getting far too over-analytical of these video and the accompanying artwork.
Maybe I'm getting a bit huffy too, and I may be coming across as a bit of an arse. I apologise if this is the case, but it has to be said - people are not utilising the full capacity of their mental capabilities in this 'ere thread.
I would, ideally, love to see a modern take on the New! Ghostbusters II NES game made by HAL Labs. That was far better than the Activision offering and involved co-op play.

I think the disgust comes more from the pic and videos just being a horrible representation of the GB movies than anything. It reminds me of that Bomberman "makeover" that was done for the 360.
Seriously, it's been said before, but they are supposed to look more like janitors/exterminators, not heavy munitions armymen.
Still, I would kill for a new Ghostbusters game. It has so much potential with today's systems.
I don't know, that cover makes it seem like they have been doing the ghostbusting job the whole time since the movies, and they've managed to get some extra funding/better equipment doing so.
I don't know but a Ghostbuster's game should be about pimping one's Ecto1 and running a business with the occasional joke served dry with a hint of aftershock.
Hey guys. I work with the company that put this together and it's not a hoax. It's simply a tech demo, nothing more. It is not a mod nor a rip off of GoW. This demo has been around internally for about a year now, far before GoW came out.

1) They're not trapping the ghosts, just shooting them til they...die? Or something? This to me needs to change. Having to snare, then trap a ghost, seems like such a good cooperative mechanic that it should not be ignored.
2) There doesn't seem to be much humor. I realize that there's not really any dialogue or anything, but there should still be an effort made to keep the world light-hearted.
These to me are the two changes that need to be made for this game to be ultra-mega-fantastic.
And goddamn it, I was talking about a ghostbusters game on the wii on here like...6 months ago.

A ghostbuster game would work if they ripped Star Wars Republic Commando. They probably dumped the traps because no one would want to capture and trap ghost 100x times by themselves, but if a computer automated it, it wouldn't be terrible.
As a child of the 80's I agree, not enough ghostbusters.
So... this is a game with a black jerry seinfeld in the gears of war universe striking poses from aliens comics?
Awesome.
Seriously though, Gears has been out for what, 2 months? How could someone have possibly made a mod this quickly? As for the locust... uh, it doesn't look exactly the same, the blue glowy thing has a shorter head. I think it's a case of the artist being "inspired" by the locust design (ie almost toally ripping it off, but not completely) - which is, as has been said over and over, very generic.

Ghostbusters + SW: Republic Commando + Gears of War + humor = Awesome?

no, it basically does look like someone cropped that picture of the locust chap, stuck a filter over it, and pasted it in.
A slightly different angle on the locust's face, maybe, but the facial features are pretty much identical, from the black teeth, the dark sunk-in nose, and the dark-rimmed eyes with the little bright eyeball.

Spiderweb Software makes fun, reasonably priced games for PCs and Macs. Big demos, too!

When they first previewed Unreal Engine 3 they used assets from Gears of War. (Locusts, wretches, a brumak) so it's quite possible that the default example content for the UE3 engine is based on GoW.
I'm probably one of the few that liked Luigi's Mansions gameplay, with the wiimote and ghostbusters license, they could actually make it work great.
But yeah, hoax on this video.
I liked the flashlight then vacuum deal. And it was nice to see luigi save mario's ass for once.
I also loved Luigi's Mansion's gameplay, with the dual-stick sucking movement action thing. But as a gamecube launch game, it was pretty disappointing. Thank God for Rogue Leader.
But as for the Ghostbusters game....Meh....
I'd love to see a game based ont the Real Ghostbusters cartoon, comlete with Cel-shading...that would be cool.
Oh, and I agree that the Wii is the obvious choice for this....

Still seems pretty generic to me.
I mean, locusts are mighty generic anyway.
In any case its concept art and if a game happened it'd probably be redone completely.
caffron said: "and cat pee is not a laughing matter"
I liked the NES and Genesis versions that I played, but with that concept art it makes me wonder if they'd keep the spirit of the originals.
Although, it does have Bill Murray's visage front and center, so there's that.
Still, I would kill for a new Ghostbusters game. It has so much potential with today's systems.
I'm almost positive that picture is from an Aliens comic cover with the GB guy's faces.

Now that you mention it, their faces do look a little tacked-on, and the car looks way crisper than anything else in the picture.

DING DING DING.
We have a winner.
We want a new Ghostbusters game.
We want it to be more old school GB 1 than a modernized version.
We hope someone is working on one.
That about all the relevant points?

On the other hand... get that motherfucking post-apocalyptic/military garbage out of my damn Ghostbusters. :x
Yep, that about covers it. Although I could live with a few modernized things, we gotta have proton packs and traps.
My question is two fold....
One, how come no one has even acknowledged this guy yet?
And to SatanIsMyMotor, give us something else to go on, If your being truthful, then im sure we would all love to hear more about this.
So wait..
Gears ripped off Ghostbusters?!!?!?
!!!
I never asked for this!

I saw that, too. It's the camera for sprinting that does it for me.
My money is on SatanIsMyMotor is misinformed, there's a couple things he's said that don't jive with what I know.
