Man, I wanna play WoW so bad. I'm getting the shakes. School, work, house hunting, days getting nicer and awesome Syfy shows are seriously eating any WoW time I want. Hopefully when the summer comes, I'll be able to play more. I like all the changes, I haven't played cata so I can only assume that all the new stuff will be fun to play.
I think I've only been votekicked once, and it was really just them saving me the trouble of quitting. It was in heroic Pit of Saron, on Garfrost, and the group refused to stand behind any boulders at all. So halfway through the fight (this happened three times), they'd get up to 20 stacks of the debuff (because their damage was also awful) and die horribly. They did manage to stand on my frost resist totem, though... which allows Garfrost's boulders to destroy it, over and over. Naturally, they blamed the healer, and kicked me without a word.
That sort of thing seems reasonably rare though. Not the stupidity; that's rampant. Just the kicking part.
The thing about Vote Kicking I found is that the majority of people, being morons, just click YES without looking.
The discussion about tree druids seems like a massive nerdrage, seems like everyone is upset that they won't have to be in a healer only form. I am actually liking this change cause while I can kill stuff on my priest while healing, my druid alt is wasting mana by having to unshift, cast w/e spell for damage, then back to a tree. Oh, and heaven-forbid I stay out of tree form in randoms, even with T9 gear in H UK, I get called out on "heyyy, durid healz is suppozed to be tree, u r turrible healz, byee" (votekicked).
I had this in a DTK once where a moonkin completely lost his shit on me because I was dpsing and healing at the same time. At first he was saying things like "oh look, I guess you're doing my job for me" and such, which I interpreted in a joking manner because the tank and I were both mostly T10 so a single rejuv could keep him up. He kept at it though and took to just standing there in moonkin form on pulls without dpsing and spouting off. We were moving at a good clip so no one really stopped to ask him why he was being a silly goose but I thought it exceptionally strange to see dps freak out because I tuk der jerb.
Now when the elemental shaman insists on healing himself every single time he takes damage, I retain my right to get pissy.
I am thankful now when I do randoms on my ret that tanks dont freak out when I end up tanking 2/3 of the run. I usually just whisper the healer to keep an eye on me and (if the groups in badge gear only) do 60%+ of the runs damage.
Oh and about the MMO Champ forums:
"If you're wondering how crazy it's been, we had an average of 10 000 forum posts each day for the past week. That's a forum post every 8 second, and that's more posts in a single day than during the first 6 months of the website. (And I'd like to take this opportunity to publicly hug the moderators for everything they did this week)"
Stupid Pally preview... I don't wanna wait til friday...
They really want the Paladins to sweat, with all the (arguably) positive previews we still have no idea what's in store for us. I just know it's not good, it can't be good, I refuse to believe anything good will come with all the recent bashing on Prot Paladins, Retadins being fun and Holydins being niche healers currently.
I'm not going to say the pally changes will bad until I see them, but i think they'll be some of the biggest changes so far. If people think the druid tree-form change was controversial, I bet what they have planned for pallies is going to cause months of complaints.

Gonna update my little "impressions at a glance" thing from earlier.
Warriors - Most impressive
Hunters - Very impressive
Shaman - Very impressive
Mages - Very impressive
Warlocks - Sorta impressive
Druids - Not really impressive
Death Knights - Not really impressive
Rogues - Not really impressive
Priest - Least impressive
The priest stuff seems like the typical major patch buffing, as far as I'm concerned. I know that some things are going to be different for rogues, DKs, and druids, but different doesn't mean "oh sweet" right away.
Still like what I heard about warriors through-and-through. I doubt the paladin preview will match it.

From the other previews, and a thread about it, the best I can tell is the following changes:
Paladins will receive a new "medium" or "upper" heal. My guess is something like Divine Light will be a new cast time based spell available at the upper end of the spectrum, which has a long cast time, to complement Greater Healing Wave, Greater Heal, and Healing Touch (as Regrowth/Holy Light/Healing Wave/Heal will complement, and Flash of Light/Flash Heal/Nourish/Lesser Healing Wave complement). Likely available at low level. You definitely receive a new heal of some sort, as the Druid preview indicated Trees were the only one's going without.
Probably also a new AOE heal of some sort as an upper level healing ability or talent. With the introduction of PW:Barrier, Paladins become basically the only healer whose aoe heal is based off of Holy Light. My guess is that will be fixed.
Crusader Strike will be trainable at level 1. See also this.
Divine Storm will now do 55% weapon damage to all targets - basically the "nerf" that happened to WW to remove the "cleave as part of the rotation". Some type of strike will likely replace it, in much the way Fury is getting a new attack. Possibly unchanged, as Chain Lightning was ignored, but I wouldn't count on it.
And the first two Mastery stats for Prot/Holy are obviously known as they share with other tanks/healers respectively.
Least that's what I can guess from the previews so far.
wait, so why are they delaying the paladin preview?
Paladin changes are in development right now.
I'm guessing they are trying to figure out how to make them not all about the GCD when DPSing, less AOE crazy when tanking and more AOE capable when healing.

I've been vote kicked once while leveling. It was done in a tbc instance that had 80s in it. They had let me run with them once and they requeued with me and then booted me with no communication. Oh well.
I've played a metric ton of lfg under the level cap since the system has been put in, as each role across I think 4 characters. I've actually had more issues booting jackasses because people in the group opposed it for no reason. That's still rare in itself, though.

I'm thinking the Holy Mastery will be something to do with more splash healing to let Pallies AOE heal that way.
So when did people start riding by Thorium veins, mining the vein, taking out the ore, and leaving the stones for some poor sap (read: me) to stumble upon later?
Because that has rocketed up the list to one of the most infuriating things in this game.

Betting on some kind of mechanic to get rid of Holy plate

Well, honestly the solution would be to make everything a turn in. Except maybe weapons, because they are cool like that. "Generic boots mark" turns in for boots for "x, y, and z" classes. Kind of like how tier armor worked in some dungeons.
There is not really any merit to a RNG drop system. Its purpose is soley one of time consumption, which Blizzard has otherwise attempted to diminish.
The Sunwell system had some merits on that front. You'd receive a piece, then had an option to turn it in for a differently itemized piece (by role) for the same slot.
It also was problematic in a few ways, but I think it's something maybe Blizzard should explore.
I've also idly thought that maybe they should give resto shamans access to plate through a talent. But not with any sort of in-depth consideration.
In addition, they could, through that system, solve the problem of boots that don't fucking match. I have not had a matching pair of boots since t2. Its a fucking travesty.

I don't know about Wrath, but I do know it can be used on accounts that have TBC.

As for the Paladin changes, they just weren't ready yet.

Oh, the bitching that will follow
All "healing" plate now has strength and spirit on it. Paladin healers have to wear to cloth instead. Oh wait...
This needs to happen.
Only one spec of one class in the entire game uses it.
The issue is that when it drops, only 1 spec of 1 class can use it. It's frustrating to be raiding and see it drop.

those have only come from badge vendors since naxx

On some level, finally seeing that piece drop is really rewarding.
On the other hand, having nothing but mail drop in your leather/plate 10 man raid gets old quick.
And maybe a better herbalist racial thing, because the little healy-bob sucks. At least make it useful.
