The Hellions and marines help a lot, but the most important part of that army is the tanks. You have to have a lot of tanks and be smart about the placement of them. It is very hard for a zerg to over come that, especially since they rely so heavily on expanding around the map all you have to do is set up your tanks and send the thors in and they can't make a counter attack.

Man so I went to add Diablo to my Battle.net account and it turns out I've had a Starcraft Beta sitting there for ages.
How large is the client?
I forget the exact size of the client but the installation folder is about 2.5 GB so that's the max (though I think the client is smaller than that but I don't remember that much).

The problem is the marauders hit so damn hard against the roaches. It's tough for me to keep bases intact whenever someone springs the ball on my base while I'm out preparing to attack his. A couple of my fights have ended with both sides rushing to destroy the other base in time.

and I'm fairly sure, assuming equal macro ability, a Zerg player will have more roaches than a Terran player will have Marauders.

Just finished watching this Terran vs. Zerg. It was a pretty entertaining game in the end.
Until broodlords make all your tanks blow up the thors and then themselves. Not to mention roaches can handle thors pretty well and can be easily mass produced compared to the much more expensive thor. A roach/muta army can handle thor/tanks pretty well.

Thors manhandle roaches (2-shotting them while being repaired), but you are right about broodlords ruining anybody who brought siege tanks. Two broodlords and suddenly the tanks are firing at the MMM ball.
The thing to remember about roaches (that so many seem to forget) is that they're useless on their own. Marines will kill them quite efficiently with a little care given to unit placement by the Terran. It'll just take a while—which is why you can do well combining them with other units, especially hydras.

Ok I infested this thor, and he picks it up with his medivac while my infestor dick is traveling to the thor. It hit the thor when the medivac picks it up, he flys back to the back, the infestor thing is attached this whole time, and when he drops it off in his base the thor is mine. Hmmm.

Just had a random 2v2 with the biggest idiot I have ever seen play.
Dude straight up built nothing but hatcheries. Nothing but hatcheries. He built three in his base and four outside his base.
And he had no units.
This was after I committed everything I had into doing a reaper rush and destroying one of our opponents.
So all that was left was for us to charge into the other dude's base and win.
But no, he's busy expanding and building fucking hatcheries. So he has zero units except for drones.
We lose because I foolishly try to save his base and end up being wiped out.
I cannot fathom how stupid you have to be in order to do that.

2 of my last 3 ZvZ games were them going for Roaches. Well, my FE->Speedlings Don't like Roaches. I beat them well enough. They'd eventually be able to hold off my pushes, but only have mass roaches. Mutaling mops them up.
