I finally got a replacement charger for my laptop, and am very pleased to find that SC2 is a totally enjoyable experience on the device. Though that's with tweaked drivers from laptopvideo2go (which break my system as a bluray player.)

Now I can stop towing my desktop with me to work on weekends. Although I'll probably still have to take my macro-cheater-keyboard.

iowa, I was cheering so hard for you when I heard you were making banshees. Then you switch up to marauders. Boourns, iowa. Boourns.

fighting marines with banshees is stress inducing though. It's bonkers how they suddenly turn to paper mache when fighting fast firing units.

After all the builds i tried in tvt today i'd say the banshee to tank and marine build is the most solid

I like banshee to tank and viking. Unless I think another T is doing that, then I'll skip banshees in favour of vikings right off the bat.

Vikings and tanks, such a scary two-unit combo in TVT. Don't worry about engaging marines with banshees, just let tanks take care of it ;).

I wish tourneys were on Saturdays, or Mondays. I can't do them on Sundays. I realize this is the good day for everyone else, though. In war3 to have a tourney on a weekday, I'd have to get my clan to run them.

I got beat by the banshee to tank and marine build today. Are there any videos showcasing it? I wasn't familiar with it but it does seem like it would have been weak against a rush of marines or early marauders. Problem is scouting the enemy while keeping up with their income.

I think zerg has a pretty intricate macro game, what with them gaining so much from expanding and their ability to roam the map so well.

The new Queen unit gives them something extra to do at the base, as well.

i just got my ass kicked by a total newb, ugh.

he had something like 6 spine crawlers and i wandered into his base and died, thinking i could take 'em down fast enough.

couldn't, lost all my ground units. my macro was sooo much better than his, argh!

what the best offense against towers and shit? i went in there with 7 mutas thinking i could kill two spore crawlers via focus fire and lost all of them... clearly my thinking is wrong, as i lost all my mutas to two of those goddamn things.

Well timed marine/marauder can be dangerous, but the problem (for the M&M group) is that the terran doing a tech build can still pump however many marines he thinks he'll need out of his first rax and toss 'em in a bunker or two / salvage right after. As soon as he has siege mode, the defending terran is more or less invulnerable to infantry pushes.

With a tech build, you can also afford to use your second 50 energy on orbital as a comsat instead of a mule, given the lower amount of minerals you need to spend. It's remarkable how fast you can afford to start your second command center in most games.

Xenocide - The best offense is to lock him in his base, expand everywhere and take complete map/economic control.

By building so much defense he has created a single location where fighting is advantageous for him, and left the entire rest of the map advantageous for you (since he is now down the 900 or so minerals it took to make those defenses which he could otherwise spend on units). Engaging him in those defenses is enormously the wrong thing to do.

It's not "something extra" when you have to do it or you lose.

And Zerg T1 is pretty broken in SC2, with many games devolving into roach mass vs. roach mass (in ZvsZ) and everything else its roach vs. marauder and roach vs. stalker/immortal/sentries. They're a boring race at the moment.

They really need to get Siege Tanks back into this seriously. I mean like real Siege Tanks.

Does anyone else think the Viking needs a new model? The thing is kinda like bulky as hell in air or ground mode. Like most transforming robot things you see are sleeeeek but this thing looks like a box.

Personally I find this appealing. Something that looked sleek and very futuristic would look incredibly dumb for the terrans, who have a basic unit that uses a riot shield and a large rifle. Something that looked extremely sleek and futuristic looking just wouldn't fit with the natural "clunky" Terran theme.

Woo, just made sixth in my division (copper, that is).

I am steamrollin' up in this ma'.

Protoss are so much fun with so much diversity. I feel like I'm not using forcefields as awesomely as I could be though. And I don't think I've made a simple High Templar yet.

I just started experimenting with DTs today (to counter brood lords) and I just won a game with carriers (slapped down a MMM ball with siege tank support JUST as he was about to jump down my base's throat).

Sleek robotics are usually a sign of Japanese-influenced mecha. Aerodynamic, sleek, and visually appealing. It's fairly rare in western mecha, which traces to things like Starship Troopers, Battletech (sans Unseen), Warhammer 40K... stuff like that. It's boxy, utilitarian, and brutal.

Sleek and similar is something I expect from the protoss. Terran stuff in the first game and second looks clunky. The Battlecruiser for example is the definition of "clunky".
