Very true sir. My problem isn't even wanting the gold gnasher. Its wanting my weapons to match. I need my shotgun to have the same skin as my rifle and since my HB is gold having them mismatch will drive me out of my goddamn mind. So I now have to get another skin for HB and Gnasher. No I don't know why , i've always been like that.Yes I do know its stupid.

I was bored and wanted to put together a list of all the info on the rumored Gears of War: Exile/Kinect title.
Okay, this is a pile of rumors and currently unconnected events that provide a potential pattern but unfortunately don't lead to any solid conclusions.
November 15th: IGN posts that a inside source has informed them that Microsoft will announce a Kinect-Related experience for Gears of War at the Spike VGA awards, but says they don't know if it's Gears3 related, or a new game. (Source)
November 15th: CliffyB says no Kinect for Gears 3, but doesn't mention a new game (Source)
November 30th: CliffyB announces in a Spike VGA advertisment that "We'll show off some new Gears Of War gameplay that's going to be awesome, you're going to love it. It's not what you're expecting." Gears of War 3 is NOT specifically mentioned.

Despite some E3 wishlisting from the Offical Xbox Magazine, this is the last we've heard of any Exile or Gears of War Kinect news. And the Kotaku stuff is probably bullshit anyway. Nice logo for the trademark though.

I was hoping they'd go a little more all-out, but this should allow me to get to level 100 if I put the time and effort into it. 5x is hardly worth it though, because of the permanent 2x it's really only 2.5x.
I may do some dancing this weekend to get back the million XP I lost when I got reset though.
I decided to start up G2 again for kicks and holy shit does it feel slow. Then we started debating what weapon changes seemed to be in effect during the G3 beta. Maybe some of this is already confirmed, but my opinion was that...
1. The gnasher range was brought down in G3 beta. Either that or the lag was much better. In G2, you canget downed in 2 shots from a VERY far distance. Either way, this is a welcome change.
2. The hammerburst is more effective in G3 beta. It's either more accurate, has fast bullet speed, or does more range. It really felt like garbage in G2. No reason to use it over the gnasher. Again, this was a welcome change.
Strange, I always felt like the hammerburst was the go to weapon in GoW2, especially with teamshooting. I mean get a couple headshots and the enemy is down almost instantly.
The sawed-off feels like the old Gnasher but with a smaller range and a big reload to balance it into a high-risk high-reward weapon. Gears 3 Gnasher feels like an actual shotgun.

Don't forget, there's two things at play here. The Gnasher was beefed up in TU6 to account for lag - even if two pieces of shot hit you it can do significant damage, as Gears tracks each individual one as a separate bullet. Secondly, Gears 3's netcode is worlds better, meaning that rifles are more effective overall, and as the Hammie isn't rate-limited, it can do a ton of DPS.

Man, 5x xp is almost worthless. Even on Insane you only get 1250 xp. Didn't get hooked up with anyone playing guardian, probably because it is EARL-LEE, so I'll probably take a nap or watch a movie and try later.
Also, while hoard is loaded with tickers, it also has a lot of wretches and a few other types (first round has a drone, second round has a butcher)

Since the XP bonus is so low this weekend, I'm setting my goals low: level 85 (Just four levels above where I was at). 85 is the first level over 4million XP. Originally I was just going to go to 3825825 so I would only need an even 3 million XP to hit 100, but I figured I might as well push it a bit further. Might going a little higher if I wind up not getting frustrated with griefers (much fewer this time around.) I hit 83 tonight and I'll probably take a break until tomorrow.
Those last 15 to 20 levels took a while to finish. Got to level 100 during one of the Fourth of July events, would probably be in the mid 80s-early 90s still if it wasn't for the multipliers they made. I was expecting Epic to go a little higher than 25x, but since it's progressively getting higher each week I'm sure this isn't so bad.

Though, I'm not sure if my connection is good enough for an extra player.
Recently installed solar panels and they suck up bandwidth
I actually don't regularly have that problem anymore, unless it's really early, really really late, or at during non-peak times when it's not an XP weekend. Dunno what I did to fix it.
Gears 1 and 2 are for sale for $15 on Xbox Live right now. Annoyingly, Gears 1 PC is not on sale, which sucks as I was waiting for the sale before I bought it. Dammit.

Tickers in Horde sounds like a fun way to chip away at Seriously, though. Anyone need the Horde achievements?
Pretty sure I still need them, although I need to go back and look to see what all achievements I actually have for the game. I know I never finished the campaign on Hardcore or Insane.

Dizzy parks Betty in an Imulsion field, nearly gets blown up by Polyps. Made me realise how badly I do not want Dizzy to die in Gears 3. Seriously. Dom, Cole, Baird, Marcus, I'd be fine with any of them getting killed in the campaign. But not Dizzy.

You start a custom game, on Security, with insane difficulty beat the first wave, and start all over by killing yourself with the security beam by restarting wave 1. It's a little tough by yourself but you get 500 Exp in about 2 minutes.
Edit: Ergh! I tried this method out. Took me all day but I got from lvl 65 to 66. Very monotonous... It's Seriously 2,0 all over again. I'm up for boosting a King of the Hill match ANYTIME over this.

Also, from reading the books, Polyps sound a lot like tickers, so I guess this is good training.

Anywho, the big problem with Polyps isn't that they blow up, it's that they attack you and THEN blow up. Like the exploding wretches.
