Eventful? I asked when 1 act would come to my town, and now they won't stop sending me stuff to do.

Find theatres in your area and ask what they have and if they have any recommendation for other venues/events in the area.

A lot of cafes (here at least) have fliers for various performances in the area, so that might be a start.

Are there any independent newspapers or magazines in your area? Like City Paper or the Improper Bostonian? Ive found that those are the best sources for events.

Call up your town hall and ask if there's a local community theater that has any upcoming performances - they should be able to get you in touch, or find someone who can help you. Community theater performances tend to be inexpensive, as they're mostly doing it for fun and they'd love to have people there.
