Also, more protagonists need to fight in suits. Looks so classy.
You're telling me everyone gets their casual clothes from Theo's requests? Well, I guess Akihiko's never leaving my party (not that he would anyway, he's probably the most consistently useful character). Anime cliché or not, I can't help but love the guy.
Junpei's Social Link has really improved my opinion of the character, too. It's a shame that he's so underwhelming in battle. My party of choice has always been Akihiko/Mitsuru/Yukari, and of those the only one he can replace is Mitsuru.
Oh wait, can you ever use your casual clothes in battle?
In P3P, you can use the door on the first floor to jump to the highest floor you've been too, just like in Persona 4. No need to use teleporters as much.
Oh, and yeah, I love how the best way to become an awesome person seems to be hitting the arcade every night (except Sunday).

I'm wondering.
If you already played the male link in P3 is there anything new that makes it worth playing again or should I just go straight to the female one?

The gameplay improvements alone are fantastic, but in general, it's the same game you know and love, with a couple added scenes here and there. If you're looking for something new, then you won't really get it from the male side, so go ahead and give the FeMC a whirl.
The female protagonist is great. Her new Social Links are longer and more interesting than the ones brought over from the PS2 releases, plus she gets Social Links with the principle cast. And she's a better character than the male protagonist, straight up. Play her route.
I will admit I'm replaying the Male side on a NG+, and I'm not sure if I'm loving it as much anymore. Call me crazy, but I might go so far as to say that the female is the better of the two.

Except she can't date Yukari. So.....ehhhhh..
oh no, she can't date the girl with more issues than the space beneath a 16-year old boy's mattress
If you've already played as the male, you should give FeMC a shot. I mean, there's new scenes and stuff, as well as new music. All that stuff is pretty quality.
To newcomers, I wouldn't express any real preference. FeMC has some better music, some worse, some better links, some worse links. It's about even, I'd say.
The one real problem I have with FeMC so far (mid June, AND only for those who've played before):
Junpei pretty much has the same jealousy to non-dramatic apology arc that is incredibly refreshing in any version, but it's only been a few days since his awesome 7/12 monologue and he's already gotten over it, probably so you can keep doing his Social Link. This bugs me a little because I see his whole Chidori thing as trying to overcome that, THEN getting over it. It makes sense that he can grapple with that without being a dick to you, but I think I like the long ordeal of it more.
Can't really say I'm that big of a Nocturne fan myself. Though that's because world building tends to be pretty important to me in RPGs and Nocturne's was kind of bland.
I thought that was the point of Nocturne,
in that the world is basically just a blank slate for you to create whatever universe you want on it? So wouldn't it make sense for the current post-apocalyptic landscape to be sort of bland?
Yet, that doesn't stop it from being bland.
I understood that was the point, but it was boring to me because of that. Basically not my cup of tea.
Uhhh... the Amala Temple, Amala Labyrinth, Obelisk, and a few others areas say hello. Hell, the use of color and shading in the tunnels filled with the -Ki brothers was ominous and stylistic.
Despite being called back to reprise the role twice, and re-recording every line, Fuuka's voice actress still can't act. Her voice is still nails on the chalkboard of my soul. Most of the cast has notably improved, but I guess it just wouldn't be Persona 3 if we didn't dread the June full moon event.
Akihiko has the worst voice-over fuck-up so far. "I'm not gonna lose another classmate," has become "I'm not gonna lose to a... cla..." then point he trails off because he realises he buggered the line up. No kidding.
But for reals, I died to the 36th? floor boss which was kind of annoying. He had just a sliver left and so I just wasn't really paying attention, MC got killed by wind AoE. Damnit! I'm so bad at these games.

You're gonna use a brand new version of a fire spell with her!
Yeah, they're body armour rewards from Theo's requests. If you get them as soon as they're available, they have pretty good stats.
Now I just need to know who Theo is. Man, so much of this game to still learn.
Theo is male Elizabeth. So, Elizabeth will give them out too, if you're using the male MC or chose her for the female MC.
Oh so just do one of her random requests and some of them give you casual outfits? That's cool. I really like some of them, like Akihiko's.
Edit: So, I'm in Arqa, and
fuck the Intrepid Knight. How and the hell do I even do any significant damage to him? I've thrown fire, ice, light, dark, wind, lightning, bash damage, slash damage, and pierce damage at him and nothing really phases him. He recovers instantly from anything, like being frozen, and can fuck up a party in one move if he wants.
Also, you can use karaoke as a verb. In Japanese you karaoke, not "go do karaoke."
No, in japanese you go sing karaoke, or go to a karaoke bar. Karaoke is noun, it isn't a verb. Every instance of karaoke here is listed as a noun. In english it's also a noun. In the examples listed here, karaoke is never a verb. You go sing karaoke, you go to a karaoke bar, you wonder who invented karaoke, but you never just karaoke.
I'd be interested to see some examples of karaoke used as a verb, mostly from a linguistics source or a list that a linguist compiled. From my incredibly cursory and relatively unscientific search a few minutes ago, there are very, very few examples of karaoke as a verb. It doesn't mean it isn't widely used or isn't gaining prominence, but it means that I can't find them. Also, this thread is on the first page of a google search for "karaoke as a verb."
Finally beat the Intrepid Knight, and now I guess i'm done with this block. On 6/15, the next full moon is like 7/8 or something. I'm trying doecide how much training I should do. My character is level 20 right now. Am I strong enough for the next part?
P3 is really growing on me. Its been forever that I've had the thrill of finally beating a really tough boss. Though I think I mgiht have been underleveled at the time.

I think the Intrepid Knight stumped me for a bit before I swapped out Mitsuru for Junpei, solely so the latter could use his Defense Up spell every turn. That solved the problem of him randomly deciding to destroy the party.
You know, if there's one thing that irks me about Persona, it's the spell names. I can get Bufu, Garu, Agi, etc. since they sound different, but the stat boosting ones all sound exactly the same like Sukukaja and Tarunda and whatever.

The only problem with that is his super wind spell kills Junpei almost every time.

Taru- = attack
Raku- = defense
Suku- = speed
-kaja = boost
-nda = debuff
Speaking of which, remember Luster Candy from SJ? Someone on GAF pointed out that perhaps it was meant to be RaSuTa, referring to how it gave all 3 buffs. Nich's reply was 'well, I missed that, but when you think about it, when you buff something, it gets a certain luster, doesn't it?'
About Fuuka... yeah, while her voice doesn't bother me that much, her lines often get cut-off during All-Out Attacks, which is distracting. And she's definitely the weakest in the roster of voice actors for this game. Her S. Link is a bit cliché, but I like it nonetheless.
Right now the S. Links that just aren't doing it for me as the female protagonist are Hierophant, Emperor and Hanged Man. The Old Couple's is just way too boring, Hidetoshi's design makes me want to punch him in the face, and Maiko is waaay too formulaic. Play time now! Angst time now! Rinse and repeat!
Oh, and Chariot's Rio in denial about her feelings for this super plain, kind of a jackass guy is... definitely not the emotional hurdle I was expecting to help her overcome. Sort of drained all my will to level Chariot past R5.
On the other hand, I love the other ones. My favorite is Devil, by far.
I just love President Tanaka's "advices", as well as his threats to keep you from leaking information about him.

So, I have just rescued the first missing person from Tartarus, and completed Arqas' second block. I'm clocking at 30 hours played so far. Hearing people mention it's an 80 hours game makes me slightly worried that I may already be close to the halfway point.
Hopefully, with my playstyle it'll last longer than that. I talk to all the NPCs, I do all of Elizabeth's quests, and experiment with Fusions a lot, often grinding Persona fodder just so I can keep a stable of 4-5 well-rounded Personas.
I really wish the Compendium prices weren't this jacked up on Hard. If I could fine-tune it, I'd basically cut Compendium fees in half, and make it so the Clock cost five times or even ten times what it does right now. Also, I'd enable getting Tired while inside Tartarus.

Those are the S. Links from the PS2 releases, with some very small changes to reflect the protagonist being female. They weren't re-written and it really shows; they're short and really boring compared to the new S. Links.
Just another reason not to play the male protagonist, really. Hip hip hooray.

Chariot gets amazingly girly from rank 6 or 7 onwards. While it might not be to everyone's taste, I burst out laughing at some of the scenes.

They're even worse on Mania, to the point that the Compendium is impossible to use. Somehow, things are working out. I avoid fusing things just to fill the compendium, and fuse only to "upgrade" Persona. For example, changing Pyro Jack into Hua Po, both fire Persona. Fortuna to Narcissus, both wind Persona.

So wait. Evil/Chaos Wave makes it so you can never get an EX turn....even when right next to the enemy?
Well, that makes it suck unless you have Bind then.

Pretty much. Not a big fan of the Waves myself, except during Naoya's test. The Wave's side-effect of slowing the user's party down a lot comes in quite handy.
I bought twenty Revival Beads after Mitsuru joined the party - usually enough to last the entire game - and I've ran out before completing this month's Tartarus exploration. At least being unable to use the compendium leaves plenty of money for consumables.
Also, is it just me or when it's Wednesday (FeMC), above the W at the top right are like, two little black pixels that they didn't properly erase when changing the image?
It drives me insane. I thought that whole time I was in Tartarus that there was something stuck on the screen or dead pixels or who knows what.
That said, I got Fuuka and she's not too bad. I don't really mind her, I guess. Golden enemies also keep running away too fast. Am I just supposed to sneak up behind them?

I'm on Maniac - so I don't know if it's different on other difficulties - but golden enemies always get the advantage, even when blindsided. Whenever their turn comes up, they will either wait or run away. This is based purely on chance. They are randomly weak to one physical attack type, but block all elements, and have very high evade. It usually comes down to hitting triangle and hoping for the best, but physical skills with a high critical rate can be very useful.
