I really wish DC would number their trades for all titles.

They did it for the JLA trades and that was it.

They should do this at a convention, hand out comment cards.

And Gordon Ramsay will relaunch DC.

Man. I'm still waiting for the inevitable
Krypto vs Dex-star fight. But that might be a while since apparently Krypto is MIA at the end of WotS.

In lieu of that, I would settle for a showdown between
    Lobo's dog and Dex-star.

Also those goddamn solicits said that Larfleeze would actually have a role in the issue. I was disappointed. Then Lobo.

The orange entity is in his power battery.

And I guess there was a scene with Larfleeze and his orange lanterns during the white lantern light show. He was approaching a 'private property' sign or something. I think Luthor is going to convince him to build a place on Earth.

And yes, it's pretty goofy that the embodiments of all emotional energy in the universe all happen to be hanging out in America (fuck yeah).

You guys think way too hard about all this shit. Its comics, man.

They're in America because that's where all the action happens. There doesn't need to be a huge logical explanation. All of the human Green Lanterns are from America, not to mention like 90% of every other DC super hero.

And to me, it does make sense that the entities would have come to Earth, because that's where their champions are right now. Hal Jordan, Atrocitus, Carol Ferris, Sinestro, these are the major players in the game and they are all on Earth.

It's not that they're on Earth it's that they came from Earth. And apparently America

It is comics, specifically comics about space cops and space terrorists. There can be some exploration in it; more than just "let's go around America"

Even one in China to showcase the Great Ten would have been nice (like a giant octopus protecting sealife from those evil whalers), or the red one being in Bialya perpetuating violence.

Expecting writers to be good enough to reflect the diversity of the universe they've crafted (or building upon) is thinking way too hard? Why should all the action happen in America? There only logical reason is meta-textual: the writers are American, so they make plots take place in America. It's their comfort zone.

So no, it's not comics, man. It's lazy writing.

Oh that's right, she was in that last Batgirl arc.

Maybe that was soft rebooted out of continuity following Infinite Crisis.

They actually mentioned her in the origin of Mr. Freeze they did in 52, I think, so no such luck.

Though I guess Geoff Johns can do whatever he wants at DC and no one will question him, especially when it comes to a little-remembered detail from a Batgirl comic.

Because DC let Morrison put their best villain (Darkseid) on the shelf, so now Anti-Monitor gets to be DS-Lite.

It wouldn't be a Geoff Johns event without the Anti-Monitor hanging out in the background somewhere.

And yeah, I've been thinking about it, and what DC needs is some new villains. That's what makes Morrison's JLA run and nearly all of his more recent DC stuff so great. He is not afraid to either drastically reinterpret/imagine a character that showed up in the 60s for a few panels, or to go all out and create scores of new ones.

Geoff Johns has created a bunch as well, I guess, but they're really all kind of within the given box and themes of their respective heroes, and none of them have been for the DCU at large (Have they?).

I've said it before, but I feel like the more scope Johns is given within the DCU for a story, the flatter he falls. I still think the guy pushes out some damn good stuff; his Legion work, Adventure Comics, and the current Flash book are three examples just from the last year or two.

Johns has the same problem that Bendis has right now. Both guys are simply stretched too thin. Both are the "architects" of these big major crossover series and then on top of that they have an impressive stable of regular monthlies.

I think both of their work would improve tremendously overall if they each dropped about 3 issues per month and spent more time crafting and perfecting their remaining books.
