I am hoping for Dante from DMC. I am curious as to what they mean by SF4 elements, I can't imagine stuff like focus working in a Vs series... maybe ultras?
I have to wonder just how broken this game will end up being.
Because, i feel like if it doesn't have the same "so broken, its fixed" feel, the old MvC2 vets may not like it. The way casuals play MvC2 and the way pros play MvC2 is night and day. Also TIERS, just how imbalanced are they going to be this time around? I mean, i don't mind if some characters are better than others, but in MvC2 you literally only have a handful of characters that are worth playing at high levels.
Either way, i plan on buying it because it's MAHVEL BABBEE
EDIT: Also interesting note
This will be another 2D fighter — gameplay-wise — but will be something of a cross between the original Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Street Fighter 4
Does that mean we are finally going to get a new Morrigan sprite? lol. 3D modeled marvel characters sounds interesting
I'll get MvC3 even though I'm terrible at the second. MvC2 is still by far the best fighter to just sit down and play for fun with friends who never really play fighting games. That's all I'm really hoping for from the 3rd.

They should also include the old Morrigan sprite as a bonus character just for the hell of it. Basically make MvC3's version of Mr. Game and Watch. It'll be all blown up and blocky and look terrible too.

Judging my SF4, I'm thinking Capcom is likely going to choose accessibility over 'brokeness/hardcore mechanics' (I'm not grouping those 2 into the same category btw).
I'm interested in seeing what mechanics, if any, carry over from MvC1/2... people seem to forget there was a MvC1 :P Will it still be 3on3? Will we have 6 attack buttons or will they stick with 4 + 2 assists? Will we be seeing ULTRA combos?!?!
I hope they really mix it up and just don't make it MvC2 HD with some new guys.
The number one thing that excites me about a possible MvC3 is all the cool alternate costumes the Marvel guys could have.
God Iron Man, Wolverine and Spidey alone give me shivers.
Oh god, if they do alt costumes they better come on disk. Assuming it's going to have as many or most likely more characters than MvC2, I couldn't afford the costumes if they sell them like SFIV.

I never understood the MvC games.. they always just seemed kinda meh and not really enjoyable if only cause the damn thing was so broken.. then again, I've never liked fighters where theres just way too much shit going on in the screen and you lose sight of what the hells even going on.
Fucking silly geese that get their hands on an early copy of Super, then proceed to be fucking sillygeese about it and constantly post little asides in the thread that imply they now have it instead of saying it directly.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.
That's why you should just stick to the PA forums. It'll be about a month before we see worthwhile threads pop up on SRK again.
It's my local matchmaking thread, I coordinate my local scene though it. I'm this close to just calling this fucker out in the thread. I guess I should just ignore this dude.
The thing is, he's actually a pathetic dude that once was somebody in the fighting scene, he came up with Valle and Choi and all those guys, but now all he's got is his internet "rep". Just like a has-been.

I am probably alone on this one but I still like X-Men vs Street Fighter the most out of all the vs games. Nothing will match the excitement of walking into the arcade and seeing Ryu do a team super with Cyclops for the first time and then a year later importing it on Saturn with the 4MB RAM cartridge. Plunking that translucent blue cartridge in and effectively having the arcade game at home was very special.
I never really saw the appeal of MVC2 beyond a silly Killer Instinct style "look how ridiculous this combo is" game. The inappropriate backgrounds and music killed it for me and the sprites were badly dated. Honestly it had more in common with a MUGEN hack then a professional product. I hope MVC3 won't be like that.

MvC 3? For real this time? Fucking finally. Holy shit, so very excited.
MvC3 doesn't do much for me. I will of course buy it since I can't resist many fighting games, but there is no real hype for it. Does the 2-D SFIV graphics mean TvC like graphics, because that's what I'm picturing. All that said, if they announce another Darkstalkers game, I'd hang on their every word.

I'm with you on that. Playing Street Fighter vs X-men at home was super fun... Except, at the time, my brothers would whine to me that they wanted to take the game with them to college, leaving me without anything to play. I went out of my way to buy the game so it felt very unjust.
MvC3 needs more Squirrel Girl. Her power to defeat the top-tier is legendary.
Squirrel Girl?
Also, I'd love to see Rogue back with her ability to take the actual moves of other characters. Probably not going to happen due to the sheer number of characters, but that was awesome back in ... uh .... I actually forget what vs. series game she could do that in.
Please hit up the thread to let us know when you'll be on, it's Third Strike right now. Good luck Jodo.

Yes Squirrel Girl. She took out Dr. Doom, you know.
And a large group of other Marvel super villains... and Deadpool. Her defeat of Dr. Doom was later retconned to be a Doombot though, which was dissappointing to me because I'm more interested in SG than Dr. Doom's image.

Those were fun games Blaze. You SPD'd me out of stuff I didn't even realize was possible, but you obviously have a much better understanding of hitboxes than I do.

I mean, I really don't want to see the whole SF crew when people like Dante, Phoenix, Arthur, and many many more could be in it.

That will be her ultra.
I'll be happy if there is only one version of Wolverine instead of two.
Edit: Wait, disney owns marvel now, could that mean random inclusion of Disney characters?
Ryu vs Mickey Mouse wielding a keyblade needs to happen.
This crossover has already happened.

I almost didn't finish watching it, just because it's so long, but Dan at the end was fantastic.
