Same reason they remade Love Actually into Valentine's Day

Films with British casts are not going to pull in huge numbers in America

Whereas Valentine's Day did pretty decently at the box office (over $50 million on opening weekend)

I really don't understand this phenomenon. What is it about non-American films that doesn't appeal to American audiences?

Since we're talking about Love Actually - a romcom - do they have to remake all the funny parts because the humour is lost on Americans due to cultural differences? I'm not saying Americans are silly geese hurr durr, just that I can see how it's possible that some things might be lost in translation. But if that's not the case then why bother remaking shit? It make no sense!

Also, on the topic of Kick Ass, I suggested to some friends who I saw it with that it's the best film he's been in since Lord of War.

...then it occurred to us: has Nicholas Cage been in anything since Lord of War? All we could come up with was Ghost Rider.

Anyway, I said it before and I'll say it again, he was fantastic in this.

If the Death at a Funeral remake was anything like the trailer, then its basically nearly the entire original movie line for line lifted but with a new cast.

    same midget.

    why even remake it god

Well I heard it was suppose to be a dark comedy. So the new cast seems way better cast to me.

Unless that jokes already been made....

Yeah the movie was much better than the book, if only because of Moretz. But yeah, the ending is much better too.

You son of a bitch, I hated Wanted every second of my first viewing. Let me catch someone spreading around that I liked Wanted. What a piece of shit.

    </pseudo anger>

But this movie will be cool. Gonna see it in about 12 hours. They marketed the hell out of it, so I bet a lot of peoples' expectations are high, but I'm trying to keep mine in check.

Did someone actually like Wanted? It was nothing like the book at all. Instead of a movie with the message " don't let people fuck you. You fuck them" we get "bend bullets hur! " . I swear to god Millar was the only person in the comic community saying positive things about it.

Snowbeat is a secret Wanted lover.

I was fixing a printer in a office a couple months ago and there was this huge poster of Jolie in this guys cube from Wanted. I was like wow Chief that's a big poster and he said yeah I want to fuck her brains out. I was like sweet deal but I can't install your printer because we only do network not local.

Jolie: The most overrated woman in regards to looks ever. Ever. She looks like an alien who hit an airbag and her alien face swelled up in weird parts. Other weird parts, different from the weird parts already associated to her being a fucking alien. To recap that's weird alien features^car airbag swelling.

this movie was awesome and the ending was amazing
them flying through the city on the jetpack with that music had me and my friends laughing the entire time

it was just like "what the fuck"? but in a good way

the movie does the same thing as the comic in that it's like "superheroes but realistic!" and then turns into a cartoon

except the movie does it well and it's entertaining and the comic does it and it's like "well what's the point"
