I played that video board game once. It was hilarious, but so so awful. Gowron keeps on throwing Klingon curses at you, calling you a dog and all that. Also probably in the top 5 of nerdiest things I've ever done.

Well, during his shenanigans during the dominion war, I thinks his eyes were a bit more rage-y and a little less honour-y than his TNG days.

Ok. so this thread (mainly the youtube link of the entire original series) has inspired me to watch Star Trek. I was a to-the-death Star Wars kid, so i actively avoided Star Trek in any form. So after nearly 30 years on earth I have seen about 3 full episodes of any trek show, and like 2 movies.

Anyway, just saying i have made it my goal for the summer to watch all live action, official cannon shows and movies in their entirety over the summer.
This is a clear cry for help, please help me.

    Start with DS9 or TNG

Skip the first two seasons of both.

It's worth it in the end, because after those first rocky seasons the show will find it's voice and become something really special

Except, again, in the case of Voyager and Enterprise

Also City of the Edge of Forever is a really great bit of television from the original series

Lies and slander. The last season and a half or so of Enterprise is good action/adventure Trek. Except for the finale, which is the worst crime ever committed by one man against another.

Voyager had some decent episodes, too, though it got SUPER REPETITIVE and squandered the promise of its pilot episode almost immediately. Best parts were the episodes that featured the Doctor, and the ones when Seven of Nine was new to the ship and calling Janeway on her bullshit.

Voyager probably had the best premise of any Trek series, but it just does nothing with it

Also all the aliens they introduced were dumb and poorly thought out and I hate what they did to the Borg hate hate hate

I definitely agree with this for TNG, but I've finally started watching DS9 recently, and the first season doesn't seem that bad. I'm sure it gets way better later on, but it's perfectly watchable so far, unlike some early TNG.

It's really better to be picky about the Original Series
There are some great episodes but also some terrible ones
My favorites are usually the Spock centric ones
Also Space Seed, The Trouble with Tribbles and the two episodes with Harry Mudd

Jesus Christ. I miscounted and thought for a second you were talking about Nemesis. I was about to have a goddamn aneurysm.

I'd still argue that some of the original series films were better than the new one, but at least it wasn't nearly as bad as the abominations they made out of the TNG movies...

2, 3, and 4 are all good, especially as a trilogy.
I will say, while 4 is pretty good, and certainly enjoyable, I don't understand when anyone claims that it's the best one. Then again, there was apparently a public fascination with whales at the time that I wasn't around for.

Of the original series films, I'd say Wrath of Khan was the best one.
