Also, hey, that Elementalist in that picture thar sure is wearing very little.
What a shock.

"Hey! Let's go wandering around in the Northern Shiverpeaks amongst all this snow, and I'll wear my metal bikini and high-heeled shoes and cast Firestorm!"
I was already excited about GW2. All this makes me further sad that it'll probably be another year or so until I'll be able to play this But seriously, they better still reveal that there's a monk in the game, or I'll be seriously pissed.
Edit: On a side note, that was one of the things I was kind of hoping would become more common in MMOs and other games in the future: combination powers, either directly (like in Chronotrigger) or indirectly (shooting an arrow through a wall of fire creates a flaming arrow).
I'm more excited for this then I am for anything else, srsly. This shit keeps getting better and better and they know it, which is why their going to keep toying with us by rationing the releases to us in bits, and we'll eat it up and give them bambi eyes for more.
See I never actually bought GW1 (although I played a little of the trial not too long ago and enjoyed it), but this is quickly rising to the top of my anticipated games list.
No secondary classes? That's a shame. That was one of my favorite aspects of the first one.
I agree to a point, but with the changes to skills and combat inherent to the new game I expect we will have a variety of options for both offense and defense without a need for secondary class skills. Having a secondary class in GW1 more or less just expands your skill options, but they have expressly said they want to (relatively) simplify skill options.
Also.. they gave us something to look forward to this time:
I wouldn't mind no secondary classes. I was probably doing it wrong, but I almost never took any secondary class skills. Just because I always found my primary class skills were so synergistic, that there was usually a better option within my primary class.
lol, Elementalists are going to be the most annoying profession in a party.
"I'm so stunning!"
"Here's one to remember me by!"
"...And stay down!"
Presumably all characters will have similar quotes.
Wisecracking characters flinging watery tridents and fire pheonixes. And the centaurs getting beat up by the AoE tremor. And the story elements, the fluid visceral combat, the graphics... brain is freezing up.
I am going to buy this immediately when pre orders begin. And if they do a beta, do unspeakable things to get in it.

It's going to be funny if you need to stand in a puddle to use water magic.
It'll be even funnier if you'll have a spell to make a puddle.
While there may not be secondary classes there is the ability to change your weapon and get skills specific to that weapon.
I agree, I'll miss the old system, I made some nice class combos in GW1. But I look forward to finding ways to stretch the game out and find synergies with my teammates.
Plus, in a way, with the secondaries I don't think I ever really learned the skills available to me. I was spending most of my time trying to find synergies with other professions and not finding the best uses for the ones in my classes.

I hope that it doesn't limit the amount of skills they're willing to put in.

Also, pretty game is pretty.
But daamn that looks pretty. I want to play, I really miss having an all-consuming addiction like I did to GW1.
Oh well, back to GW1 in the meantime!

I am really liking this.

[€dit] Those 5 vids of the elementalist were a nice touch. I especially like the puns

My brain sort of froze up trying to look at every page at once. Must focus on one article at a time.

I thought the same thing at first, but it sounds like race will take the place of your secondary - contributing race-specific skills and abilities.

It seems that both of those things might be true
