Trying to decide which one I want to use for buttons. My wife and friend prefer the first one. I'm partial to it as well because it has more detail.
I welcome any suggestions or feedback.
FYI for most who can't recognize this is Halo based, my xbl gamertag at the bottom. My Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST and Reach beta symbol I've used the entire time sits in the middle.
So, for those who are part of the 'gotta catch 'em all' crowd, if you want one of my buttons, you'll need to hunt me down. Shouldn't be too hard, I'll either be in/around Console Freeplay, or near the Rock Band Stage, with a bigass bag of buttons to trade away.

That's the joke (I'm from "Southern Fandom" where that description would match 90% of the attendees at any given con. If you removed the gender and beard refs, it would match 95%

Thanks! Credit where credit is due, though. I just keep pet rats, my friend designed it for me but won't be a buttoneer because she's spending her time with costume. If you see someone dressed as an amazingly adorable companion cube, you'll know why cute is such a natural talent for her.

In fact, I removed it from Photobucket because I'm not okay with their terms.
If anyone knows how to host an image without giving anyone rights to it, please let me know.

My +2 button of shameless self promotion is complete!
The guy who does our graphic design swears he's seen buttons with text wrapped into the edge and that it comes out really cool. I'm sort of skeptical whether it will come out readable or not but it's worth a shot.
If anyone is still waiting on ordering their buttons, mine came in last week and I wanted to report back that the experiment with wrapping text into the outer edge of the template worked very well! The text is not obvious when looking at the face of the button, but is very readable when looking at it from the side. Will try to remember to upload a pic when I get home.
My photoshop skills are at about a 2/10, so here is the best I could work out. Ordered 100, plus a surprise bonus button for people that know Futurama.
So here's a silly question: What do you do with all the buttons when you get home?
There's tons of stuff to do:
- Make a scrapbook.
- Use them as pieces in your latest work of modern art.
- Use the buttons as part of a voodoo doll and inflict horrible pain on your fellow buttoneers.
- Weave them into your dark, hellish shrine to the forgotten gods making the buttons a focus that will draw in the life force of their creators and summon your evil god fully into this world.
This list just goes on and on.

I have them all pinned to a shirt and hung on the wall.
I keep meaning to encase them in about 1/4 in resin on a wood base and make a table top. But I'm lazy and resin is my least favorite medium, so mostly the ones I have are in a drawer awaiting their future life.

I didn't do buttoneers last year but I did get a lot of buttons and other things from the expo floor. I picked out the ones I liked the most or that just evoked the most PAX memories and mounted them in a shadow box.

Several buttons are worthy of wearing all the time outside of PAX, provided you are comfortable with being identified as a hipster nerd. They make great conversation pieces too.
