Another question - is there any way to cancel mans shouting guys if I haven't taken my turn yet? I try turning off 'Aim' and it doesn't work (which feels like it should, especially with Rocket Mans).

Rocket men will fire exactly once for each aim action you give them. For direct attack mans, cancelling aim makes them move quicker but lose accuracy. To make an attack man stop shooting use continue on sight.

So my first two attempts at exporting a game onto Youtube have failed. It encodes, uploads, and then tries to process, but Youtube says it could not convert the video. Any ideas?

I have the same issue, I think according to the forums its a known issue.

I'm trying once more. Maybe you aren't supposed to leave the window while the video is uploading? Obviously, not while it's recording.
If this doesn't work, I guess I can just do it manually.
Edit: Worked that time. If you're having issues, keep the game window in focus while uploading.
Just been given this by a friend, I'm hopeless at strategy games but looking forward to it. I was the type of person in C&C to have managed to build ten guys and a tank by the time my opponent rolls over the hill with an entire army, and tesla coils.
However the whole taking turns fits right in with my gaming schedule (i.e not much time) so I'll be on soon for some target practice!

Why is it when I'm challenging someone it always places us at grouped in opposite corners? How do I make it random, like when I'm challenged by others?
The game seems to have a pretty straightforward priority, with a little bit of math and circumstances thrown in.
If you and an opponent see each other at the same time (a common occurence), the game looks at things in a certain order, that being:
-Cover. Is one person covered while one is not? Covered guy will most likely win.
-Stance change. A person who recently crouched or recently stood up (about a second ago or less) will be at a disadvantage against one who did not. Crouching does not affect aiming at all, it just lets you hide behind low cover.
-Stillness. A stationary person will have an advantage over one that is moving around, say, a corner, even if they spot each other at the same time.
-Aiming. If one is aiming and the other is not, the aiming guy will have the advantage.
Now having said all this, shotguns pretty much insta-fire if their target is in range and in their line of sight. The above rules do take effect in shotgun vs. shotgun battles though.
Something is really messed up here. First, it takes me forever to connect to TEXAS2 (far longer than to connect to TEXAS4). Then, in my game with Rend, every unit is green and there's 13 of them. What the hell?

Question about ducking behind cover. What's the difference between ducking behind light blue objects and just standing behind them? A person behind a light blue object is "covered" right? But someone ducking behind one is, er, "more" covered? Like: Standing in the open -> Standing behind a light blue object -> Ducked behind a light blue object in terms of cover priority for combat resolution? Or am I misunderstanding something?

The Texas 2 thing is an issue according to Ian, the dev. I'm gonna assume it's us that's causing it to lag
As for the bug, I've encountered that once and I guess there's nothing you can do about it except ignore the game or end the turn and instantly win/lose (depending on who's green).

It was my understanding that you can't shoot if you're ducked. which might explain why I lose a lot...

Needless to say I was also very confused O.o
Actually, I meant every unit is red, not green. And I can assign orders to them.
I asked for help in the Mode7Games IRC channel and an OP told me to restart the game. I did, but it's the same thing. Is there a way to cancel a game that hasn't been started? We can try to remake it.
I also lost the ability to send messages in IRC via the in-game module.

I started another game against you, this one looks like it's not wonky.
The # represents a dark blue (full-height) wall. The $ represents a half-height (light blue) wall. The "o" represents my mans. And the numbers represent enemies.
Basically, if my mans is crouched in that position, the only person he can fire on is enemy 2. Can he SEE any of the other enemies, assuming they are standing? Or is 1 and 4 also invisible to me while I am crouched in that location?

TEXAS2 seems really goddamn slow. Why did we pick this server?
Does it even matter what server you pick?
Yes. Currently, you can't play games you started on one server if you connect to a different one. Your stats and games are all server-specific. Also, I found TEXAS4 a lot faster than TEXAS2.

Edit: You can fire while crouching, but you can not fire over light blue cover.
Well, that certainly explains how I lost a couple of games. Shit.

So lets say I'm in a room that looks like this:

I hate camping and I like being really aggressive, but it's difficult to leave a fortified position when all you have are long range combatants.
Yeah no kidding. But the important thing is I had fun and I'm making friends.
There's an IRC client built into the interface. Click the chat bubble on the top left.
This is a fantastic idea.
