For the record, I have played the real game and completed all of the DLC, but I am leveling a new character for poops and laughter and to solo Crawmerax. I remember you used to be able to get a lot of exp by doing Eridian Promontory, but with Knoxx it seems pretty obsolete. Looks like we will keep riding the Knoxx train to victory, then.
The only pearlescents I've seen are from the lancer chests in Knoxx/Farmory glitch and Crawmerax, though I don't see why badasses wouldn't drop them as well.
Yeah supposedly Badasses can drop them too, but I've never seen it happen either. Craw is your best bet once you've done several armory runs. (the mega-chests gave me a good number of pearls)
I wish this game had some semblance of a storyline, some cut scenes to develop the characters, and some other stuff. Combat is really good, but doing endless fetch quests is getting old. I'm still on my first playthrough, level 26 heavy gunner. The setting is pretty cool, and the the twisted wasteland western thing is a very cool thing, but I wish the world was better developed.
I think my perfect game would be a combination of Borderlands, Fallout 3 and Red Dead Redemption.

for borderlands to be an mmo it would really just need to allow more people in the game at a time
If there's a sequel, I really hope Gearbox focuses more on fleshing out the characters and settings. In those aspects, Borderlands feels really unfinished to me.
I finally finished this a few days ago, and I have a question. Is Baron Flynt meant to drop anything good?
I couldn't check as when I finally beat him - using Sledge's Shotgun - he flew backwards faster than Ellen Burstyn in The Exorcist, off the top of the excavator thingy and kept going until he was a speck on the horizon. I never found his body.
He does drop a gun, but I can't recall if it was anything worth getting. I believe bosses respawn though, so if you travel back up he may be there again.
It's a shotgun with a 6 round clip that empties itself when you pull the trigger. It's kind of meh.
Sometimes it shoots rockets. But not the real rockets, the shotgun kind of rockets.
Thanks everyone! I don't know if I can be arsed to go back and rekill him for that; I'm pretty attached to all my existing weapons already.
Well...y'know. Until something better comes along.

Firehawk! That was the name of the machine pistol! It was a 'Bad' Firehawk, but it still does 80 damage and has a massive x4 fire chance.
what exactly does the =% status effect chance mean on the firefly mod? Does it just increase the total tech pool for all guns, or the regen rate, or what? Everything seems to proc basically everytime I hit something, so I don't know if that even helps me at all.

Are you listening to all the audio recordings that tell a story? Also, iirc at lvl 26 you are getting through the most boring part of the game. You should start to transition into the cooler stuff soon and you won't mind as much.
I'm on at pretty random and weird hours, and I work nights. My next night off is Saturday. By then I should have my Siren up to 61 (bought knoxx today) and maybe a decent gun or two.
The build I'm currently thinking of going with is this, with my two moxxi points in phase strike, with a catalyst mod that has 3 phoenix, 4 girl power, 3 intuition. The idea is to buff the balls out of my allies' cooldowns, have basically no phasewalk cooldown myself, and be constantly popping heads with phase strike.
If this build doesn't work out, then I'll have to revert to good old faithful with my insanely good merc mod. 2 extra points in enforcer.
I hope the catalyst thing works out, as my current one with 28% off ally cooldowns seems like it'd make all kinds of people's days, not to mention letting me zip around as an invincible, invisible, regenerating blue streak of nobody around me has shields at nearly all times. I'm worried it won't work out, though, because playing through this time, as a catalyst (which is the only reason I ever got such a tits awesome merc mod to begin with), has been WAY harder than I remember playthrough 2 being. Like holy shit, I've died a dozen times fighting stupid fucking crimson lance.
Then again, this time I don't have my glorious ~680 damage 2-shot pestilent defiler, like I did last time.

Yeah around 26ish was when I lost interest and dropped the game until recently. Since picking it back up I've pretty much played nothing else and it does get alot better especially when you start running into Lance which is unfortunately pretty late but makes things alot more fun.

There certainly seems to be a lot more humor/story/characters in Knoxx then the base game.
I think Gearbox can make a completely awesome Borderlands 2.
The original version of Borderlands had a randomly generated world (maybe even an open world), three classes, and I think a much more serious tone. So they went from that to what we got in under a year IIRC.

A Capellan's favorite sheath for any blade is your back.
Man, now I want to play Borderlands and get my Mordecai and Siren up to 61. But I still have 65 green stars left in Mario and Mass Effect 1 and 2 to play......
I am little late to this thread so maybe lots of people feel this way - but Borderlands was my game of the year. The DLC made it for me - Knoxx was so good.
They wouldn't have to change the formula much to make a hit sequel. Just add another cup of awesome juice.
BL was definitely my GotY, but for different reasons
knoxx had a lot of humor but the execution was just painful at times
finish a quest, and then travel in the opposite direction, then travel in the opposite direction to that. AGAIN. really made you miss fast travel. i mean, if they had grouped the quests properly they could have concealed the omission, made it not so bad.
if i never meet another crimson roadblock it will be too soon.

downloaded the knoxx fast travel mod and it makes farmory+craw so much easier
had to mess around in willowtree# to get the oasis hub to appear though, that was annoying

All i can get is some room with a dozen or so fast travel points on the left and a musical sheep. I'm not kidding about the sheep. I think it's a test room of some sort.
I just checked my stats, and my melee has apparently overtaken my shooting. 1664 melee kills vs 1502 Shotgun kills. It looks like I'm actually meleeing MORE in playthrough 2. I didn't expect that to be the case.
i dunno, brick is probably the hardest character to play. on playthrough 2, berserk rapidly becomes less effective, and by level cap, unless you're specced into explosive weapons, you'll die a LOT.

I didn't have too much trouble with brick in playthrough 2. I agree that he's the hardest, since everything is so conditional with him.
But a good Juggernaut/Revenge/Master Blaster build will do you just fine through everything but bosses. You might be second winding more than you'd like, but you'll rarely die.
Good evening fair PS folk, after a bit of risk, i come bearing good news. When glitching your armory runs, the deployable bridge on the upper floor is indeed safe to cross. After you cross the bridge, and go down the elevator on that side, there is a set of stairs, also safe to go down. And guess whats down them stairs? Yes, the chests that you couldn't get to, cause of the steam pipe room, that cause you to mess up your runs. For you out there wondering what im talking about, tomorrow after work, ill get some screen shots, and post them.
Yeah I just tried deleting Oasis midpoint and trying it with just Oasis in the list of locations. Then tried the opposite with no luck.
edit: I just read up on it. Apparently I gotta click on fast travel junction numero 4 to get to the Knoxx custom hub.
edit2: And it still don't work. Freezes on the load screen.
I'm just going to bet you messed up installing it since you didn't read enough to know you had to hit the 4th travel point to get to the travel mod at first. He does a step by step install procedure and provides all the files, so I'd just open the readme and do it all again step by step. If you did do that you can try removing the exe, but I'm pretty sure you'd get an error relating to that if it was the problem.
And enabling the Oasis waypoint is stupid easy with Willowtree, unless having to download and pick Oasis off a list is annoying for people.

Just beat the game.. wow everyone was right about the ending shit... Ok now time for the DLC.
Since you mention the ending, I just had another thought about that I really should have recalled to be annoyed about right off (like I'm sure everyone else was):
Who the hell was angel lady? I didn't even realize that they never explained that until now. It was obscured by "What? No guns?! We don'r even get to go inside?! NO GUNS??!?!?!".

They tried to bury us. They didn't know that we were seeds. 2018 Midterms. Get your shit together.
All I do is constantly go into berzerker rage and it recharges fast enough that the next camp its up and I can kill them, and move on.
I only keep weapons so if I need to hit a dude on a platform I can't reach or for rakks.

The melee damage of Berserk with talents seems to be scaling very well with weapons.
I'm curious how it fares against the vault guardian and Crawmerax; if you can even kill them?
Also the flying guardians in the snow area will probably be an issue, but I can probably find something to take care of them since they're so weak.
