Love their cases, comes with lots of goodies, and typically great quality.
So long as you use the same apple ID you won't get charged.
Those cases look rad, especially the clear one, but it looks like it doesn't protect the front screen at all. I broke my 3G when it fell face down onto pavement, and thus that's my biggest concern.

With everything they ship, they include TWO screen protectors, a cloth, etc... I got the clear one, as well.
Yeah, I can see the need for an actual front-screen protector, like something hard to protect from impact, but I'm not sure how well the touch-screen would mesh with that.

really all you need is a hard case that has a slight lip around the edge to prevent the screen from taking the impact on the fall

Now I have to decide if they look $20 nice.
Seeing as screen protectors alone are $15-30 retail (from what I've seen), it's been a decent investment for me. That, and their customer service is pretty top-notch. They've sent me three replacements for my last case with no hassle. It had a manufacturing flaw in which the bottom part (where the sync cable goes in) sags down a bit... revealing a piece of the chrome on the 3GS. They re-designed that case and sent me the new, "firmer" model.

I usually get screen protectors from bestskinsever.com - I have a back-and-sides skin on my phone at the moment, cost around $6. Good to know about the customer service though... plus the included extras (port protectors, applicator squeegee etc.) actually look useful.

Hmm, I may go ahead and order skins from there to go with the case... I've never really dealt with "professional" skins before... I've always been a bit iffy about the application and the whole "apply and let it dry overnight" side of it... I always feel like I may screw something up and not do it right. Any tips on applying that one?
do they curl up at all, and are they easily removed if need be?

Use a small cereal bowl or soup bowl and mix dish or hand soap with water so you get it slightly soapy. Then drag the whole protector through it, then let it drip off a bit so you aren't soaking your device, but you want a good layer or soapy water still. Then put it on and slip it around until you get it positioned perfectly (it doesn't stick immediately, letting you slide it around rather than pull off - lay on over and over). Then squeegee using a credit card or similar to remove as much of the water as possible. Hold the opposite side to keep it in place. Once you start squeegeeing, it'll start to stick pretty good. Then let it sit overnight or for a full day if possible and it will "cure".
Once it cures, it won't curl at all.
If you need to remove it after it's cured, you'll probably stretch it out of shape. If you want to try to avoid that, use wet fingers and the soapy water again to try and ease it off.
I've put these on my DS screens and Zune and at first I was bit hesitant, but I did the big flat back on my Zune and realized how easy it was and then did the screens without a problem. So do the back first and you'll see how easy it is.

Yeah the application is pretty easy, especially on the iPhone 4 where curved surfaces are kept to a minimum. Keep a paper towel or clean cloth handy to mop up extra liquid, make sure your phone is powered off (hold down the lock button until the "Power off" button comes up). It doesn't take long to dry - I was using my phone again within a couple hours. Also when I put the large piece on the back of my phone it looked like there were a lot of tiny bubbles underneath that I couldn't squeegee out, but after a day or so it was all smoothed out.
I'd also pay a little premium to debadge the thing, I don't need or want a logo on the back.
You can do what I did with my iPad. I got a clear-ish case, found an old Mac System 4 bomb icon and printed it out and tucked it between the case and the iPad.
Voila! (sorry for the terrible old iPhone quality pic...):
I loves that I can print something out any time I like to change the look.
Don't take that to Boston. They would probably evacuate the whole city.
LOL.
I actually panicked when I arrived at the airport a few weeks back. I was at the security checkpoint and remembered the bomb. I was careful to keep that side facing down when I took it out of my bag but then I panicked that the xray machine would see it (no idea if they can pick up bold dark areas of print...)
But everything worked out fine. The security guys were even like "Cool, an iPad"
I went through security with it a couple of months ago and didn't even need to take it out of the bag. It's cleared as mobile electronic device like a camera or MP3 player, not a laptop that needs to be removed and put in its own tray.

i wasn't sure about that
i mean, maybe the security thinks the ipad is replacing laptops and therefore is one and could explode

This. Don't be a super perfectionist. Get the big bubbles out but as it dries it pushes out bubbles and looks beautiful. It molds so closely to the surface that I can feel the depth where the Zune symbol and text are on the back of my Zune because it pulled into the crevices.

So my buddy was using an app awhile back that let him browse his home PC's hard-drive just like an FTP server. Anyone know the name of a solid app that'll let me do just this? I'd like to stream stuff that won't fit on my iPhone.

It's not the exact app your looking for, but I use Dropbox on my iPhone for accessing files that are in the "My Dropbox" folder on my computer. That folder is synced between my home computer and work computer also. It's limited (250 MB for the free one, IIRC) but useful.
I went through security with it a couple of months ago and didn't even need to take it out of the bag. It's cleared as mobile electronic device like a camera or MP3 player, not a laptop that needs to be removed and put in its own tray.
Man, we had to put everything in the tray. My MacBook, the iPad, my iPhone, even the DS. WTF

Laptops generally have to go in their own separate tray by themselves, or in a sleeve if the sleeve can be taken out of the bag. Smaller electronics like cameras, phones, etc. can be in a tray with other stuff or put into a carry-on - you don't need a separate tray for your phone, another tray for your camera, etc.
I crossed the border going from US to Canada recently, and they checked my bags, and yeah, my ipad was the first that the guard had seen. He was intrigued.

I'll second this. I actually bought a BSE on a recommendation from someone here -- I believe it was Evander, but it was a long time ago and I'm not 100% sure -- and I was very happy with it. Great website, great customer service, and it's the exact same product as an invisible shield for 1/3 the price.

Thanks for the tip on this one. Just ordered the black. I prefer to go naked with the i4, but I think I can stomach another mm of thickness, plus the package value is a pretty good deal. Most legit iPhone cases are at least $20 ($30 most of the time it seems...) and they don't come with nearly as much stuff.
That case looks pretty cool, but does 1mm really add that much protection?
Outside of the OtterBox type stuff, I'm skeptical of any of the cases. Yes, they might keep the screen from hitting the ground in a horizontal impact, but I don't think that sort of drop is the cause of most broken screens. I guess they'd work against scratches, in case you carry sand or metal shavings in your pockets.
Who doesn't carry sand and metal shavings in their pockets? It's so handy to keep with you for all those situations that call for it!

As a professional Apple-certified cat-burglar, I carry quite a few sharp steel implements and diamond-tipped glass cutters in my pockets.
On a more serious note, I'm not expecting to rub my phone with steel wool anytime soon, it's more of a peace of mind thing. I'm a bit obsessive about it, I've been skinning my devices since my first iPod. At $6, it's pretty cheap peace of mind for a skin; a $20 case is a little tougher, so I'm still considering.
So what's the best GPS app for iPhone 4? I'm on the 2 GB data plan so I don't know if GPS apps would eat that up or not..
Not sure what the best GPS app is, since I'm still looking into that myself, but from what I understand it's best to get one that pre-loads all of the maps on the device itself. That way, you don't have to have a 3G connection (or any data connection at all) to use it, unlike something like Google Maps.
I was in Ohio a couple of days ago in an area with zero reception, not even on Edge, and it drove me crazy that Maps was effectively rendered useless. Any suggestions? Is the Tom-Tom app any good?
Thought you guys might like to know that the fring app for iphone has been/is being updated to support video chat. This is important because it means A) video chat over 3G, and video chat with people who don't have iphones (like android users who have fring installed.)
So this Dropbox thing is nice and all, but I'd really like to be able to browse all the files on my home PC from anywhere. Is there anything that'll let me log in FTP-style to my home PC from my iPhone?
EDIT: Or really, through a website or something, since I can just go to the website on my iPhone.

That stuff is horrible and way too thick though...
Look; I accidentally had my iPhone 4 in my pocket with my mess of keys for hours, no scratches.
I think you can trust that the film it was shipped in isn't doing anything for you.
Let's play Mario Kart or something...
If I go into the App Store and "buy" stuff that I already bought, it won't recharge me, right?
Edit:
Woo, looks like Switcheasy finally released a case: http://www.switcheasy.com/products/NUDE_iPhone4/NUDE_iPhone4.php
