Just wanted to mention how grateful I am you guys are playing this campaign PbP for all to see. I just acquired the core rulebook and have a couple people interested in playing. But as a first time GM/player (last exposure to anything similar was a robotech rpg ages ago) I'm a little overwhelmed trying to get everything together. This campaign you guys are running has been very informational, as well as a good read (burned through the first 20 pages rather quickly). Thanks!
I hear ya Boba. This game is what made me finally break down an buy a pnp book of any kind. I've always been an "observer" of tabletop games, but this thread (along with a love for Star Wars) was what did me in.
We just had our first run through last night, (a throw-away game just to feel things out) and it was awkward, stupid, and loads of fun. I nearly killed the PC noble, but had things set up to feasibly allow a friendly reinforcement that allowed them to get away alive.
Now get to it Horseshoe! I need moar inspirations!

Now get to it Horseshoe! I need moar inspirations!
arcanis we can take the scene from here
40 has very little time and is making a gamble based on the pretty good bet that he can catch his perp here
based on rolls we made before 40's reputation is such that only the meanest bastard in the whole place will step up to him
bish cyango definitely doesn't fit the profile of who you're looking for... but he's a nasty piece of business
and like most bullies he likes to strut around looking tough where people can see him being tough
other criminals in the cantina might fire on you if they think they can do so without getting killed
some of them might run if a gunfight gives them the opportunity
but all of them will at least stick around to see what happens next
so 40's going to need to assess the situation and act appropriately
let's kick it off wit whatever clarifications be necessary
and most likely start with some skills
a documentary film
called "The People Vs George Lucas"
is now available on netflix and it is good you should check it out
you'll need to make it across the room to him first though
perhaps taung has some skills to help him with that
he'd probably get his gun out by the time taung got up to him
something subtle or something that would get him to drop his guard might work better
how bout this
you know how taung has tough as nails and shake it off
how do you feel about taung just boss mode walking up to him and taking a shot and shrugging that shit off like it ain't no thang
i figure that will demonstrate who's the law round these parts
if you're sure you wanna use that right now
if things go south you've got a room of heavily armed criminals here
taung has dealt with a cave falling on top of him before
taung has killed dark jedi single handedly with nothing but his blaster and mandokarla
if things go south it will be for these poor mugs
gimmie that initiative check
and if you're going for a now shut the hell up i'm asking the questions sorta thing
you'll get a +5 on persuasion checks to intimidate
Initiative: 1d20+20 35
have i mentioned how awesome it is to type a +20 modifier into the box
Persuasion (Intimidate): 1d20+12 29
the dice are hot for Taung (who wouldn't be)
taung takes the hit, succeeds at his gun trick
and whatever he says next
well he's getting everybody's attention with that
Ass
when i picture the scene in my head i can't not see it
and i'm imagining that cyrango talks like ramon from fistful of dollars
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oP5AqDVZBNc
somewhat less intimidating
i need to correct that
