im a lot more excited about this than i figured i would be. i played a ton of MvC2 on the DC back in the day, but ive never actually been any good at any of the VS games.
also if we're doing character wishes, personally ive really wanted Arthur from Ghosts n Goblins ever since he showed up as an assist in MvC1. not gonna happen, but still a guy can dream right. and Phoenix Wright would be pretty funny too.
If you ever wanna give it a try again we have successfully got a PA lobby of people not using those tactics and likely could again, add the PA SSF4 friend.
Sure, I'd like to get some value out of that game.
I'll be up for this. I love the combat of MvC2, even if I'm horrible at it. I was also sorely disappointed to see that every team online was some combination of Storm, Sentinel, Magneto, and Psylocke, so seeing the PA teams should be fun.
Dr. Wily should totally be in this game. If fucking Tron Bonne and servbot from Legends got into MVC2 I don't see how they can't put Wily. Shit, they can even "Jill Valentine" him and get him to summon all the different robots. That would be epic.

2. Thor... pretty damn good chance of seeing Thor. Since his revival, he's all of a sudden become REALLY popular. With the somewhat recent popularity boom, a movie on the way, a DvD on the way, and his very own tv-series. Well, I have a feeling Marvel will push for him! HERE'S A SHOUT OUT FOR A VOLSTAGG CAMEO (for those who don't know, he's arguably the most popular character in the Thor series after Thor. He has really hit an all time popularity high at the hands of recent writers.)

Calling him internet popular is unfair. He's much more popular then that. Catman is an example internet popular.
Although you are certainly right to an extent... compared the BIG superheroes like Spider-Man, Wolverine, Batman, ect, Thor can't compete.
BUT with an appearance in Iron-Man 2 and a BIG franchise push already in motion, Thor will soon be an A-List superhero. I think it's a safe bet we'll see him in MvC3.

I'd love alt-costume "new characters", as many as they can cram in. I mean, there are about 15 Spider-dudes, a thousand Strong Guys (including Strong Guy), so many heroes have near duplicate powers that it's a great way of letting me be the ever-loving blue-eyed Thing and the Hulk for a lot less work than two whole new movesets.
Sounds like the perfect excuse to use Spider-Man 2099 or Scarlet Spider. Although Spider-Man 2099 is supposed to be in the new Spider-Man game, so I would assume the chances of seeing him in there are slim. I could live with Scarlet Spider, though.

Good games though. I feel like I forgot to use my assists as much as I wanted to. I was mostly picking random characters I thought looked fun.
Honestly, I rarely use my assists because half the time I forget I even have them. I'm usually too focused on the fight at hand.
Using assists correctly is one of the things that will immediately make you a better player. I used to never use them or just spam them for maximum damage. The minute I started using them for their actual uses (anti-air, expansion, etc), my game got 100000x better.

I don't know how Monster Hunter can fit into this.
I also wonder what they meant by "strong story". How can they extend this beyond "Portal opens, both worlds must team up to beat the big bad"?
As for the characters, I feel like Storm and Cable, due to their establishment as awesome and iconic characters in the last game, will have to be included. I'm hoping they steer away from X-Men though. I think Thor is a lock, and it's quite possible that that firey-guy in the silhouettes could either be Mephisto, or maybe Ghost Rider. I think Super Skrull may be to alleviate which of the FF to add, since all of them couldn't be there.
The only additions to saying yeah to either Protoman or Bass being added to the list, I'd love to see and think Viewtiful Joe is lock for a new addition.
Or the supposed "we couldn't get the licensing for this" ends up as DLC. Happened with Forza. "Oh, no, we can't have the new Nissan GT-R in the game because Sony's got the exclusive rights! But we'll sell it to ya a month later for five bucks."

Easy, you don't need the character to fight them online but you can't play as them. DoW2 did the same thing with Chaos.
