Full weight reduction, but I also made it a RWD which puts all the weight back, it's at 2,834 lbs.
Funny thing, I could make it a FWD setup and drop 400lbs and only go up 1 PI point, but I am not a fan of B and higher FWD. Didn't even try to see how it turned out as a FWD.
Edit: If I took the weight reduction off I could get it close to 500hp.
I'm liking my Mercedes so far, though for the first time, I will be adding downforce. I normally avoid the fins and scoops like the plauge, but with this little wheelbase, I'll need to learn quick. HP wise, my car's sitting at 396 HP / 2865 pounds pre-downforce. Mean little car, with some killer launch. I'm just worried about its overall acceleration.
apparently being AWD adds a shitton more to your PI, that must be why mine is the same weight as your cars but has much less horsepower
A drivetrain swap, as far as I know, always drops your PI because of the added weight. And the RWD swap is nearly the same weight penalty as an AWD swap.

Sorry about bailing, all... my connection started lagging up something fierce, and it was starting to affect the rest of you all. Roommates with torrents, I suspect.
A lot of even, close racing. Got 3 wide on the last turn of the last lap on Road Atlanta. Hope to get a video of close, clean(mostly) racing made this weekend

Yeah, people tended to get into a spot during the first lap and basically stick there, plus or minus a second or two relative to one another across the race. As floppy as these cars drove, it was really all about jumping on passes when the guy in front of you misses his line on corners. You couldn't count on massive spinouts and crashes to get you ahead like some of our other Thursdays...y'know, like actual racing.
I took a few bumps (and gave, natch) but only saw one real wreck (stupid Sunset chicane curbs :x) so definitely some clean racing. I thought it was F class that toned things down, but these commuter cars just want to play nice.
A lot of us are still fairly new to online racing.. eventually people will figure out that you can't enter the track until all cars have passed, and if you spin out, you gotta get out of the driving lane. If you come to a dead stop in the middle of the road, just sit there until it's clear.. much easier to avoid a stationary target than a moving one.
Most tracks are designed in a way that if you blow a corner you'll spin right into the gravel, problems only show up when people try to salvage the situation and get back into the race.
It doesn't bother me too much, I fuck up a lot myself (my blowout on Le Mans last night was epic), but I will offer pointers anytime the topic comes up.
With so few laps that we run for the races it's hard to do the correct thing and have a chance at anything but last, but of course you shouldn't have spun/crashed if you wanted that shot at winning anyway.
I'm definitely guilty of jumping back onto the track too quickly, and that comes from only racing AI where politeness doesn't count; I'm working on watching for that. But my dive across Veevee's nose on Sebring was an act of kindness, I swear!
Clipping a guy in a corner is unavoidable and pure error, so I don't mind it too much. Especially since I do it myself, as using a controller makes it hard not to drive like I'm having a seizure.
OP updated for next week's race, if you want a head start.

its really too bad we can't all race in the same lobby. We had some spectacular fails going on in our lobby. The best being a small lag spike that caused half the people in the game un-recoverable damage. Second best being my thinking we were on the short road atlanta and taking a right turn at 250km/h where the track actually turned left.

Also my rolling it, several times, the most notable being on Maple Valley.

"Rattling's out in front again"
"That's cause no one wants to get near him"
"Goddamnit" - as Rattling's car suddenly accelerates at 50 G's in reverse and cripples another car
And that was on Road Atlanta, Scatman, not Maple Valley. All I heard was a thump behind me and I look and see your car tumbling through the air and into the wall.
Edit: Speaking of that, how much horsepower did that Scion of yours have?
I still think the NSX might be a little too fast for the rest of that field. But the Firebird, Eclipse or S4 might surprise me. We'll see.

My T/A is pretty goddamn awesome. I wanted to do a Batmobile paint for it, but then realized that all that would entail is black paint.
I just had a thought. Please tell me this is a stupid thought.
Forza 3 is missing a performance upgrade that covers your car in golf-ball-like dimples for reduced wind resistance, like that one Mythbusters episode.

The S4 is a pretty powerful car.. I debated for a good five minutes whether to put it on the list or not. But as the whole thing is an experiment, I eventually decided to include it.
My theory is that whatever car Veevee or Frendy pick will be unfairly powerful. I don't know how they pick the best car every week, but they do.

this list is going to be hard for me to pick just one car from.

This Firebird handles like an Elise and weighs 3600 pounds.

Yeah, my fault on that one too, didn't help that my net connection was so messed up that night. Plus, my Mercedes had some crazy oversteering issues along with it that made my car a fair bit more unstable than I was predicting it to be.
But that grid for next week is looking quite nice, and I could use a good excuse like this to do some experimenting on painting up cars.

I'll run my E30 to test all the other cars against ;-)
Also, I was thinking we should lock down the car numbers (like I've been number 33 since.... early forza 2) and put the list in the OP. Not that it matters, but I think it'd be fun/interesting.

Since this is a test I went a little off the board....and then I got carried away. I have about 9 cars I put into B class, only the RX7 and the NSX are from the list. The others are a mix between DLC and cars from the disc.
And I call #22

*edit* nevermind me I just needed a little practice
Nope, I'm B-Class with all non-engine upgrades at their max (minus the roll-cage).
