One thing we can't quite figure out is the digital readout on the vehicle's rear, which seems to display the car's current mph and perhaps even more info on its rump. While it might be a fun feature to rub your speed in the faces of those that get passed, we imagine police officers would also appreciate your velocity being public knowledge.
apparently this thing is a highly modified Corvette C6
I can't decide!!
Do I want to drive the Batmobile in FM3? Hell yes.
Do I want to be within 30 feet of a C4-or-later Corvette? No.
Because you hate fun?
Other than the front engine design (which is still used by Ferarri in many of their cars that cost 4 times as much) I can't imagine anyone having any legitimate complaints about the C6.
so back to tonight's race, Camino Viejo short REVERSE, is fucking crazy. mark my words, every single one of us will t-bone a stone wall tonight.
that stone wall is retardedly placed.
Whoever designed that wall seems to have a hate-on for any car with even the faintest suggestion of understeer. And considering too that the turn is right after a modest downgrade, everyone was understeering at that corner.
I'll say it again: We need a better system for organizing the races.
We had a second room up, but couldn't get anyone to come over and balance out.
I know it's first-come first-serve, but it's hard to justify spending the time to tune/paint a car and then not make it into a race. We had a fun time, but racing with just a couple other dudes just doesn't work the same, and AI mainly gets in the way at those numbers.

could it be possible to have everyone meet up in vent like 10 minutes before the event just so we can confirm numbers then we can balance the rooms from there?
alternatively we could have an irc channel like the street fighting chums do.
Well part of the problem is I had notifications off, because the wife hates getting popups when she's watching netflix, so I missed all the messages sent my way last night.
What I think would work is moving the gather time up ten minutes to 8:50 eastern, and once invites have been sent out, have the part leaders send a message to someone in the other game with how many people are in the room.
From there it just becomes a volunteer system. The full room asks for people who want to swap over, and hopefully it happens.
The problem we always had with this in FM2 is that once people get in a room they tend to want to stay there. We also had problems with people in the small room jumping ship to the big room once slots opened up, which just frustrated things.
It would be nice if the xbox had some kind of larger party system for coordinating stuff like this. Or maybe if Forza would just man up and put 16 cars on the track.

But by driving a Corvette you instantly become an '80s movie dickhead. That's just how the universe works.

you know that videos and games have seperate on/off checkboxes for notifications right?
also we had some fun accidents involving that stone wall and there were only 3 of us in the game, I cant imagine how that played out in the other lobby

Yeah, it was a mess. Some forgot to turn at all (me), some wedged themselves straight into that wall, and the rest just plowed through the pile.
I hope somebody got that wreck on New York uploaded. I'd like to see what the rest of you saw. Kestrel(?) went through that chicane on the first lap, clipped the exit tire wall, and came to a dead stop sideways across the track completely blocking it off. I t-boned him at full speed, the person behind me slammed in and tossed my car in the air. Despite everyone ending in one big pile, I was apparently the only one that got screwed on damage. 100% damage to everything and a max speed of 25 put me 2 laps down before I could limp to the pits.
I still think the most hilarious was the guy leading the Sidewinder race on lap 6 just out of the blue cuts across the track and slams himself into the left wall at the line because he thought the race was over.

Just remember that half the people you meet are below average intelligence.
I put New York on my storefront, I think I was 6th at the time so it's a good view from the back.
As did I, I tossed the penarc tag on the description too, for ease of finding if you don't have me on your friends list. The nice thing about saved replays too, is that they save everyone's paint jobs as well, which can be fun to look at if you didn't get a good look at them while racing.
I had this race in a Dodge Ram and had "accidentally" spun out a Dodge Neon SRT-4 and then I flipped it over and in one of those times I somehow 'monster-trucked' over it and it looked great. But I wanted to recreate the moment, but I never could.
I didn't make time to cut a video over the weekend. I apologize. Maybe I'll do it tonight..
It's not like FM3 makes it easy to do this stuff or anything. From what I understand:
1. Upload movie snippet(s) using crap angles becuase FM3 wasn't aware camera+tripod had been invented yet.
2. Download movie snippet(s) off of website thats sometimes decides to have your movies available.
3. Cut together snippets if necessary - and it usually is, mostly because it's impossible to get the complete picture of a crash/cool maneuver in one shot because of the stupid replay problems (see 1).
I still haven't been able to get past step 2, but is that how movies work in FM3?
So I rolled an A-class Audi, and that thing is 600 with EVERYTHING piled on. If you want a 5000 lb minimum, we should probably move down to B. Figured I should mention that before other people blow the credits on the upgrades.
But I did like the idea of a racecar engine in an SUV, although it sounds like shit compared to that glorious V12.
I got the Exotic Car Pack today. It's pretty fun. Ranges from A-Class to (I think) R2. If you want a handful of new supercars it seems like a solid purchase.
The R&T pack was mostly hot-hatches and there wasn't really much in there that grabbed me. I resisted buying it for so long but eventually gave in. Micropayments are my kryptonite.
Agreed. For every game that's (for the most part) reasonable with DLC like FM3, there are games like Dragon Age that ruin the whole thing for me. It costs money to model cars and tracks for new packs in the months after release, so charging for them piecemeal makes sense, even if they do tend to charge a bit much here and there.
But when developers use DLC as an excuse to charge me MORE money to activate content that was ready on release day, that just pisses me off. I know it's a dead horse to flog, but that additional 0-day quest or whatever was built into the dev costs to start with, so it's built into the $70 price of the retail game.
As a result, I just sort of hate all DLC. I might make an exception with the next Jalopnik pack.
The Gumpert is very grippy and a hell of a lot of fun to take around the ringburger.
The SSC Ultimate Aero, on the other hand, is completely goddamn uncontrollable.
I'm gonna try out the Radical now.
edit: The Radical is unbelievably good. I'm outrunning goddamn GT1 Maseratis and Japanese Super GT cars with nothing but a fucking motorcycle engine. I just checked, and the Radical is now the lightest car in the game. (Of course, that means the slightest nudge by any of the other bloated cars will send you flying, of course).

if by "something" you mean "70s Batmobile" then yes

Maybe they intend it to be some kind of supercar hearse?
I guess there could be some aerodynamic advantage, but I'm skeptical.

No, that's the new CTS-V Station Wagon. Fastest hearse in the world.

If they don't do this for forza 4, it'll be a no sale.
I'd have honestly rather they have reduced the graphics wankery and had cars that looked like forza 2 in exchange for a 16 car field.
I can't imagine the net code is that bad of a problem if Iracing can have 40 car fields.

Strange, though, how I can never seem to reproduce that flip on purpose, when apparently, lots can do it even accidentally.
I should have saved that...

The editing and uploading is the easy part.. relatively speaking.
I do hate how Forza has no stationary cameras. It makes it super difficult to get dramatic shots.
