Man I love playing this game. Haven't played this week but man I just have so much fun playing it and I usually don't care for multiplayer. I don't get frustrated even with the occasional helo rape or bad pub team mates.
I tried playing the Halo: Reach beta and was just disgusted by it. And I am never touching Modern Warfare multi ever again. Red Dead multi sounds nifty but I'll probably only dabble in it.
Yeah, it looks like the AN-94 will be returning to its original form. Looking at the stats charts, it was the most powerful assault rifle with the new patch, since the M16 now does 14.3 base damage at all ranges. Two more unlocks for a much weaker weapon, but now they've changed it back.
Hey, the weapon progression isn't linear. In fact, it, ideally, should be nothing but static. Not unlocking to get more powerful weapons.
Shhhh, don't ruin their illusion of accomplishment ;-)

I personally don't see the point of Red Dot sights. I mean, unless the gun's iron sights are incredibly bad, you should just get used to using them and instead pick up lightweight or grenade upgrade. I like the grenade upgrade because it helps when softening up enemy positions (i.e. removing cover and doing a bunch of damage) or using smoke grenades.

Honestly, try using the laser sight with magnum ammo for a few.
You will realize why we use it then.
Trust me too: I was a firm believer in iron sights > laser before, all about the extra 40mm, but realized I can kill much more people with magnum AND I can just stay down the laser sight.

IMO nearly every gun in the game has piss poor irons. Exception - M1 Garand.
Why do people hate that gun? I went on a rampage with it last night after finally unlocking my veteran status. Seems pretty solid with magnum ammo.

So, wait a sec. They buffed the AN94 with the last patch. With this patch they say it will return to it's "former glory," but that feels like a nerf to me. Any chance someone could break this shit down for me?

Increased the damage of the MG3 to bring it in line with the rest of the LMGs.
This has made my night. The ridiculous amount of hot lead dispensed by that thing with a damage buff will be my counter to the M60. Even more than it already is.
I mean christ, the sound is terrifying and it will seriously fuck up your aim if you're in the line of fire.

It's more fun when the objectives consistently fall when the attackers have like 10 tickets left, or the defenders win by just barely diffusing the last MCOM as the last 10 tickets of the attackers bleed out. Curb stomps are either immensely boring or insanely frustrating. A nice even pitched battle where anything can happen. Otherwise, why not just play against bots set on easy mode?

You should have jumped on the PA team. And it was not booring for us. We were pulling off crazy awesome kills left and right. And for the record, CarbonFire joined our side, not the other way around. Plus, pubbies are sub-human creatures sent there for our personal enjoyment.

Assuming I was even cool with stacking, I fail to see how that is a viable suggestion when there were quite a few more PA players than pubbers.
Does anyone have any thoughts on why Assault can have shitty gun + C4 or awesome gun + grenade launcher? It irritates me that I must always choose. If its supposed to be due to "space limitations" on the character model, fine, I don't need 40mm grenades anyway when I'm carrying my M-16.

I know I risk my life and reputation by mentioning this in here, but MW2 got it right when it comes to team balancing. Using a players score from the previous round to balance the teams is an excellent idea. Right now, it seems like BC2 just keeps the pain train rolling no matter how badly a team is getting stomped round after round. If you want to turn that off for a team scrum or a match, that's fine. But it should be on by default to keep things fun.

The moral of the story is puff puff pass sip the beer and crash the helicopter into the MCOM while singing the Russian national anthem.
That might be the ONLY thing good about MW2. It's a steam Free Weekend for that steaming turd. In case you can't tell - I was unimpressed. The lack of destructibility and the lack of dedicated servers.. just.. ugh. I think it's not having dedicated servers that makes people act like asshats, because except for the fact I was holding a mouse not a controller, I thought I was on Xbox live. Dedicated servers can kick and ban people for asshattery and establish (and enforce) their own rules about team balance and cheap playing tactics. Matchmaking is a massive free for all of asshattery.
