Got a new LG KM555R and hooked it up to my comp via USB. I asked me to install some shit, including PC Suite III which I did. The problem is that when I have the phone hooked up and set it to PC suite, it opens it fine, but the program says that no phone is found. I installed PC Suite 2 and the same thing happens. The PC recognizes the phone, I can access it as a storage device, but the fucking program doesn't.
Is the any alternate programs I can use? I really just want to install a custom ringtone that I have.
The phone is from Rogers in Canada. Googled the problem and there was some advice about installing some patch. Did that, but nothing happened. Still the same problem.
I had the same problem with the KM555r on Windows XP. My Windows config has Autorun functionality disabled for security reasons. You can just use Windows File Explorer and find the USB drive that represents your phone and run USBAutoRun.exe and that will install the proper drivers and "LG PC Suite". Running "LG PC Suite" from the desktop icon or the start menu always results in the phone not being found by the software. Running USBAutoRun.exe from the USB drive again will detect that the drivers and software are already installed and launch "LG PC suite" which will now see the phone as connected and you're in business.
Note that running USBAutoRun.exe/"LG PC Suite" seems to unmount the USB drive so you'll need to disconnect/re-connect the phone's USB cable to make the USB drive and USBAutoRun.exe reappear if you want to run the software a second time.
You could instead re-enable Windows Autorun functionality if you are not concerned about the security risks and the "LG PC Suite" should launch and find the phone automatically.
