Can someone convert an MVI to an AVI?

I have a video of my band at a gig that I want to put on youtube, but the camera saved it as a Quicktime, and its 28 minutes. Can someone either volunteer for me to email them the link to save as an AVI or tell me a free software or method to convert it?

QuickTime format is .MOV and I know youtube accepts that. They convert whatever you upload to them anyways.

YouTube accepts a wide range of video file formats. The video files below are all accepted by YouTube. Some video formats work best and are most compatible with certain computers, software or devices.

    Windows Media Video (.WMV)
    .3GP (cell phones)
    .AVI (windows)
    .MOV (mac)
    .MP4 (ipod/psp)
    .MPEG
    .FLV (adobe flash)
    .MKV (h.264)

http://www.fileinfo.com/extension/mvi say mvi is an AutoCAD format.
NOTE: Canon PowerShot digital cameras save recorded movie files with a name beginning with "MVI_." These files are not related to AutoCAD, but are standard .AVI movie files that can be opened with a video player.

So I'm guessing you eith have a .mov file, or an avi, and youtube should accept it.

That has nothing to do with the video format. Some preliminary googling suggests that you're out of luck, unless you're a youtube partner. You'll need to split it into a bunch of clips.

windows movie maker is free and you can use it to split it into parts. If you are on a Mac use iMovie.
