I say we put some money in a pot and buy Tycho a copy of ME2. Because those ME1 facebook pages had me in stitches for weeks. We have to get Tycho to do ME2 flavoured ones. This time with Femshep.

I just started ME2, literally moments after finishing ME1 (I wanted that import, damnit). Wow, the combat is different. I'm partway through Freedom's Progress, and I'm still very much getting used to it.

Also, I wasn't aware that you got all your weapons back (as a Soldier) before going to FP. Fighting that Heavy Mech with a pistol was ill advised.

Best strategy for heavy mechs? Fists
    Not really, but
    FISTS

heavy mechs are like the collector general - scary at first but totally manageable after you know their tricks. The re-load time, the rocket, the mini-gun. It's all sequenced. I've noticed I've forgotten to actually assign squad points to miranda and jacob on my last couple of runs through freedom's progress because I know it so well. But the first time I played insanity (engineer) I died most on freedom's progress through sheer incompetence.

I'm not sure what's considered spoiler territory at this point, so I'll play it safe.

    I've recruited Mordin and
    Garrus
thus far. The game is all right.
    The game is pretty good.

the YMIR fight on FP is completely cheeseable

just lure the sucker behind an indestructible crate stack

with a little maneuvering you can shoot his head and he can't shoot you

also i've taken point blank YMIR nukesplosions numerous times and never even had it bother my shields

    i think i'm immune

See, the YMIR missile wasn't the problem for me. It was the stagger that let everybody else in the world pump me full of lead. Not a problem on Freedom's Progress, obviously, just in other fights.

Enjoy it. It only gets better. Don't forget to scan for those minerals (and get the upgrade from Miranda to ease the pain of the process) because upgrades make the combat better.

Tycho came up with the mind-babby concept. Brilliant.

Can someone explain a cultural reference I am not understanding. During the
joker solo run he says in the beginning that "if you start singing daisy bell we are done".
    What is he referring to?

Yeah, Mordin's recruitment is full of this. Brilliant.

    Also,
during Jack's loyalty I wonder if the krogan pack realise that they've failed to loot everything in the whole base. Shep just waltzes in, hacks/bypasses everything and walks home with the dosh.

So I fucked up the order of the missions and Tali's loyalty mission didn't become available until after the Collectors
abduct everyone. If I do Tali's mission, will it end up killing Kelly?

I remember there was a discussion about this awhile ago but I can't recall the conclusion. Is there a one-mission grace period, or is it only Legion's mission which doesn't count towards the time limit?

Quick question, this is my first time playing through:
I'm working on picking up the second set of dossiers (got Thane and Samara) and have a steady stream of missions from team members lining up. Is there any reason to not (say) get the rest of the team and *then* work on the team missions...or should I work on some of the team missions? Is there some point of no return which I should keep an eye out for?

So I just got back to Citadel in ME2.
Shepard is kind of dick. "I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite store on the Citadel." I think I gave that endorsement to two stores that were right next to each other. I just torpedoed the credibility of two shopkeepers to save a few credits.

    ...totally worth it.

Also, what the fuck is with the council? "Oh yes, the 'Reapers'." What the fuck? That's like Roosevelt, after Pearl Harbor, saying to his best advisers, "Oh yes, the 'Japanese'." Fuck you, turian councilor.
