Memory Blackout, Possibly Drugged?

I went to a friend's party last night and specifically remember drinking only four beers (2 National Bohemians and 2 Rolling Rocks) within a 2-3 hour time frame and don't remember anything until waking up at another friend's house early this morning. I was shocked to not know how I got there but after waking up my friend he said I was acting crazy out of my mind so he let me crash at his place a couple blocks away from the party.

I've never had this happen to me before, could I have possibly been drugged? Or can 4 beers cause memory blackout?

It's possible. You should probably call either your hospital's urgent (not emergency) care and talking to the nurse on duty, or call your local police station's non-emergency number, and see what they recommend.

If it was just last night, and you were drugged, there should still be some in your system.

If you're really concerned about it, see a doctor.

H/A is probably not going to help much.

You might have drunk more than you think you did too.

Memory loss doesn't necessarily start AFTER the event that causes it. I went over the handlebars of a bike once... well I only know this because someone saw it. I don't remember it even happening.

This. And I feel like we're getting one of these threads a month now.

Also, don't take drinks you haven't seen prepared and don't leave your drink unattended.

Just a curiosity (I have no expertise to suggest this is the reason), but how much sleep did were you operating on?

I ask because I had my first blackout ever this weekend and it was pretty scary. I only had 3 hours sleep the night before and got up at 5am, was on my feet all day, then went to a party at 9pm. I don't remember anything after midnight, and apparently I was up until 3am doing stupid shit. Unlike you, I had much more than 3-4 beers though.

Usually if I drink way too much too fast, I might puke or pass out on a couch or something, but this time it was really different.

Acting crazy and out of your mind doesn't seem like anything I've heard people describe getting roofied or the like to be like. It's quite possible, as Wassermelone said, that you just were drinking more than you normally did, and just can't remember anything after those 4.

Ive blacked out a lot, even if you had 4 beers, if you drank them together or hadn't eaten much, it just kicks in, you don't slowly fade out or anything theres just a point where you're completely operating on auto-pilot.

Interesting. Some friends and I went to see Team America back in college and brought some beers into the movie theater (Classy, I know). I had two before I went and two in the theater. I don't remember the last 2/3 of the movie, leaving the theater, or anything else that night. The beer was Rolling Rock.

    Conspiracy!

    How much do you weight?

Are you a guy or a girl?

Did you eat anything before the party or were you drinking on an empty stomach?

    4 beers *can* cause blackout.

Male, 160 lbs. This was back in the college days where 8-10 at a party didn't result in blackouts. The food is an interesting thought, though. I think it was mid-afternoon, so nothing to eat since lunch, assuming that I ate lunch that day.

OP: If you're really concerned about it, go right now to an emergency room or urgent care clinic and have a urinalysis done. The longer you wait, the less like they'll find anything.

And Wassermelone is right: any cause of memory loss can prevent the retention of memories leading up the event, usually up to about a half-hour.

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

The actual incidence of date rape drugs is much much much less then reported by the media, and is mostly people being caught off-guard by intoxication. Intoxication is a funny fucking thing, and just being slightly dehydrated and hungry can get you really really drunk much faster then you'd expect. Four beers and a couple of shots of hard alcohol in quick succession could have put you into a "black out".

That being said, if you're really concerned, go to the hospital and get your blood/urine tested. But I'd personally chalk this one up to life experience unless your friends saw you disappear for any stretch of time. If they did, then get your blood/urine checked, and get an STD check. Hell, get one anyways, because people don't do them nearly often enough.

You blacked out. If you were roofied, you wouldn't have been active. If you want, you could go to a hospital.
