I'm still reading it, but like all of PP's recent books it is very nicely laid out and very pretty. Vindicatus looks like he might even be a fun infantry list.

Vindictus is pretty gross. While I haven't lost to him yet, my two or three games have been very close. The threat range of his army is ludicrous, and his first or second turn feat makes him almost always get the jump on you.

I've decided. Its official. I refuse to be nice on VASSAL anymore lol. I let this guy I'm playing right now take back 2 rather important fuck ups. And now they are both screwing me over lol.

No good deed goes unpunished. Argh.

That's the key difference between friendly games and competitive games. A friendly game is about what could you do, given the position you've setup. Competitive games are all about what you remembered to do.

Here we'd have to find the line between competitive and friendly. Perhaps we should make a habit of making which we want when we ask for games or when we are asked from now on. This would just be to clarify with our opponent how much we're going to give on screw ups.

yeah haha I didn't mean I was going to be an ass. I'm more lenient than a lot of people I see. I'm just expressing my frustrating at getting screwed by my own innate kindness. Lol.

"That other forum" is exactly what I don't want to be hah. I'll take all the screwings I need to take to stay away from that

Anyone want to play VASSAL with a complete beginner? 35 points of Warmadudes.

I can guarantee that I will take half an hour to complete a turn and fail at general rules use.

I'd play you if it weren't late over here now ! I'd also recommend that if you're new you might want to start out with a 15 point game to get the hang of things first.

Ahhhh. I got two and a half hours of sleep last night, went to my uncle's wake, got my inheritance(a giant ass waffle maker), worked on his widow's computer for six straight hours, and now I'm home.

I'm here to kick heretical assholes and make waffles; and I'm all out of waffle mix.

Oh, forgot to mention. Got my first game in with High Reclaimer today. I have no idea what about him it was, but damn. I love that caster hahah.

Truth be told, it was probably when a Bile purged 8 cheap menoth troops and High Reclaimer was rocking 13 focus next turn. And then proceeded to Ashes to Ashes the hell out of a unit of Bane thralls. Haha.

And his cloud spell is great. Amazing for blocking charge lanes and screwing up LOS.

Had a lot of fun. And that game was the first time I've used a Vassal. Out of probably.... 10 games with Menoth? Something like that. Enliven is just so nice.

I tried to escape using him/covenant, and I succeeded for awhile at least.

    So, might I ask.

Why would you take a Reclaimer (or Gravus for that matter) with the High Reclaimer?

Since models only provide 1 soul when they die, and he gets all the souls from friendly models in his CNTRL, they are there for what purpose?

I guess to get souls outside of his cntrl? His tier 2 needing 3 of them seems a bit excessive except for large point games then.

    Or am I missing something?

A single Reclaimer can give on to 3foc to any one warjack. So if you have 3 Castis, you could only give one of them 1-3 focus. The other two would be SoL.

The one thing Reclaimers can do that the High Reclaimer can't is turn souls into focus the turn they're created, but the only scenario in which that's useful is if you're killing your own models during your turn...

    Or with free strikes.

But really, Reclaimers allow you to run jacks father than 10" from THR. That way when you charge your heavy through the lane THR opened up with Ashes to Ashes, he won't be stuck without focus next turn.

Also, focus on Reclaimers doesn't go away, unlike with the HR. So starting with 1 means they keep that until it's spent.

Taking a look at the tournament list and I think I'm gonna change factions to Ret if thats alright? I think people will get annoyed playing against 3 Khador armies. I've never played them before so I'm on the back foot, but I'd rather it be fun for everyone and lose than annoying for others and win. I'll try and have my lists to you ASAP, Adam. It's finals week and I've been very busy/out of it.

    Anyway, maybe by tomorrow/Tues.

You can still give focus to jacks that are inside THR's control area. They also each start with one focus, which makes them like Wracks that don't explode, and can give you more than one focus at a time.

6pts is rather a lot to spend, yes. In and of themselves, they are still a very good solos. They can block charge lanes for 1w infantry, and you can stick them behind infantry to block anything without reach from getting into melee with them(Soulstorm doesn't need LoS).

Reclaimers have an 8" range for soul taking, so you can put them on the outskirts of THR's control range and get any souls that happen to be out of it. This increases your threat range and allows you to spread your troops out more without wasting focus.

Khador is one faction I pretty much never hear or read about people not wanting to play against, so I don't think it would be too much of an issue. I certainly don't mind, though I've never played or seen Ret. in action so I can't really compare. Just play whatever you want and I'm sure it'll be fine.

I don't know, but some people have it.

And I thirst for it daily.

Also, do people have any advice on this list?
    Commander Coleman Stryker
    +Lancer
    +Cyclone
    +Ol' Rowdy
    +Squire
Black 13th Gun Mage Strike Team
Stormblade Infantry (Leader and 5 Grunts)
    Stormblade Infantry Officer & Standard
    Journeyman Warcaster

I think the Cyclone might be good with pStryker because of Snipe and Earthquake, but a defender is the same points and offers much more assassination threat. Can't decide between the two !

Cyclones are for killing low armor troops, which it does pretty well. 2-6 P10 at Rng16 is pretty nice, and allows you to soften up anything that would keep your SB away from their intended targets.

You are, however, running a rather low model count. 16 models, and only 10 of them threaten warcasters(and the SB are exponentially less effective for each model that dies). If you drop a point somewhere, you could run a Stormclad marshaled under the SB.

If I were playing against you, I'd tar pit the SB and focus on Rowdy. Once I take out his right arm you'll have to assassinate my caster with Stryker quickly, or face a losing war of attrition.

Cyclone is a damn good assassination threat. Knock 'em down and hit them from 19" away with 2-6 POW12s. Even if you roll shitty two boosted POW12s will leave most casters open to a B13/Jr. finisher.

pStryker is meh and easily countered, but it's a solid list for what he brings to the table.

(That was just for you, General Nemo.)

    Karilmat
    Rainfall

Where are you getting 19" range? It's RNG 10, +4 from snipe, and I don't see anything else in his list that adds range.

I would love to see an anime style clip of stryker arcing an earthquake on a caster and then the cyclone shredding him/her.
