I'm sure you would get a bad concussion from diving into a vault of metal coins. But it's a cartoon, and completely badass. Heck, not all of it is coins. There is some paper money, and precious gems.
I managed to find a picture of the CEO of Blizzard, enjoying his favorite pastime.
Has no one ever wondered how painful it would be to try to swim in a sea of coins? I mean, ouch. And if you inhale a dime.......
I think that was done as a joke in Donald Duck comics at some point. Someone other than Scrooge tried to dive in there and knocked themselves out or some such.
Because Scrooge, he's the Money Elemental. He has +200 affinity to currency.

Clearly the coins are only a covering to the molten liquid gold coins below it.
When I was a kid and used to watch Ducktales I occasionaly wondered how he was able to dive into the coins. It would only be a fleeting thought though as my attention would quickly turn into me wanting to become Gizmo Duck!
Talespin? Or Chip and Dales Rescue Rangers. Actually now that I think about it, wasn;t Gizmo Duck from Darkwing Duck or am I just getting my cartoons mixed up. I guess you could say I need to get my ducks in a row? Oh man, I slay me.

Clearly the terror that flaps in the night >>> blathering blatherskites....
Edit:
bowen, there are no dimensions. It exists dimensionless, as Scrooge McDuck has an infinite amount of money. That 90ft mark is only there to throw off anyone who can successfully dive in....INTO AN ETERNAL MONEY PIT OF DOOM MAUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I can not think of a good haircut for my mage. He is currently bald with white hair, and a goatee. I'm just tired of staring at a bald head (his helms are worse with the exception being the pumpkin helm) all day.
In the comic it was a cube so probably 120x120x120 ft assuming the 90 ft mark is near the top. On the show it was taller than it was wide, so... I've clearly put too much thought into this.
Using a standard 1oz US gold coin, roughly the size of a US half dollar:
2.15 mm in thickniss
30.61 mm in diameter
volume of the coin:
3.14*(15.3^2)*2.15 = 3.14(234.09)*2.15 = 1580 mm^3
this is equal to 5.58x10^-5 ft^3 (per coin)
19091041 / (5.58 x (10^-5))
3.421334 x 10^11 gold coins
342,133,400,000 gold coins
1 oz of gold
Duck tales aired from 1987 to 1990
In 1987 (London pm fixed) gold coins were worth ~$350, in 1990 $375, in 2010 about $850
1 oz of gold is worth:
1987 - $ 119,746,690,000,000
1990 - $ 128,300,025,000,000
2010 - $ 273,706,720,000,000
$1.00 in 1987 is worth $1.92 today.
Gold is pretty inflation proof. You've more than doubled your original investment. For inflation, that original value would be roughly $230,000,000,000,000.
Fucker had a hundred trillion dollars.
He'd be even more rich if he invested it though, holy godballs would he be rich.

"Hi, is this the Cash 4 Gold hotline? Great. I have 342,133,400,000 gold coins I would like to trade for cash"
You've also pretty much destroyed the golden gate bridge.
1 oz per coin =
9.69932 x 10^9 kg = 9,699,320,000 kgs = 10,691,670 tons
The golden gate bridge is 6500 feet long, the maximum load per linear foot is 4,000 lbs, 26 million lbs, which is 13,000 tons.
You've just crushed the golden gate bridge.
One or two trucks at a time, my friend....
Also, this is Scrooge McDuck, he could easily hire a helicopter to move the tower. IIRC, he did indeed do that in an episode. I think that's why he keeps Launchpad around....to move his money bin at nearly no cost.

You'd need approximately 1,000,000 heavy lift helicopters to move the money in the money bin alone.

More and more heirloom gear.
New RAF Item
Cold Weather Flying book
capped badges per character
Limited attempts on hard modes
What did I miss?
How about the part where they're redoing the world, and adding two new races?
This expansion definitely feels like there's a lot of emphasis on making it fun to play through the game from level 1 again.
It could also have to do with wanting to make the game fun from top to bottom, seeing as how 1-58 is awful, 58-68 is marginally less terrible, and Wrath quests start to have some interesting elements. I can't imagine slogging through the game starting at level 1 at this point unless you were doing it specifically to race to 80(85).

It's funny, I had no issues with BC when I played through with my DK....but I'm doing it now with a priest and I'm only maybe a few quests in and I already hate it. But yeah, every time I think "Maybe I'll make an alt" I remember that Cata should make Azeroth fun again and I might as well wait.
1-20 is a joke, and 20-40 isn't all that bad really. 40-50 isn't fun, and 51-58 makes me want to punch babies.
I mostly mean the quests are awful compared to, say, northrend quests. No unifying themes, terrible quest rewards, quest clustering is fuckawful for the most part and a lot of quests have you running all over creation.
1-20 maybe a joke, but it's the kind of joke your mom tells you: slow, boring and it's the only joke she knows so you'll be hearing it a lot.
I don't have much to compare WoW to, having only ever played SWG and MxO previously. But the WoW levelling blows away either of those two games now those were slow and repetitive.

Well yeah, even at launch, WoW was a lot faster and smoother than any previous MMO. But after 5+ years, those Azeroth zones are just shit compared to the stuff in WotLK.

I had a children's book where the Beagle Boys tried to rob Scrooge's mansion while he was away and Donald and the Triplets were housesitting. I think Donald or one of the Beagle Boys tried and failed at the dive.

Just because the leveling in WoW is comparatively less shit than in other MMOs doesn't mean it's any good.

Gizmoduck was from DuckTales, but he did appear in at least one episode of Darkwing Duck (It may have been a 2-parter) where he went to visit his old pal Launchpad and got caught up in the happenings.
Darkwing Duck was a huge influence on my childhood.
